The burdens that tormented Faye all day seemed to evaporate as she watched Eugene's smile welcome her, evaporating as quickly as the alcoholic liquid that was dripping onto the surface of the skin. Replaced with increasingly erratic pounding on his chest. It's also claustrophobic and awkward, but it all feels good.
Eugene and Faye fell silent, standing face to face in front of a large mossy chunk of rock where they promised to meet tonight.
Faye clenched her agitated fingers, afraid that the sound of her heart beating could be heard by Eugene. "Follow me," suddenly Eugene's voice jerks Faye. Without asking the girl followed Eugene's steps. Faye tried to walk faster to compensate for the devoile's move, but he still could not align his pace.
What was I thinking? I really want to walk by his side....
Faye bit her lip, then smiled as she felt silly herself.
Eugene's footsteps felt responsible. The young man was used to walking quickly, but he did not want to leave Faye too far behind. Eugene wanted to walk by Faye's side, but there was a strange fear of his chest. Trolls, dragons, griffins, monsters of any ferocity, even King Zodic though Eugene had never felt a single speck of fear towards them. But on a fyriel named Faye who walks behind him.
Only a fyriel with such a weak luminosity. Only a girl would not be worth fighting against. The girl in a lavender dress, her hair in a branched face showing her small white neck and shoulders. For some reason it was much more 'scary' for Eugene to raise his heart rate chart, widen his pupils, and his breathing was not free.
The sensation almost drove him crazy, but he enjoyed it so much.
Eugene reached out his hand. "Alright," he said in an awkward tone. "I mean, I'll carry you." Faye's cheeks are flushed. A confused expression adorned his face.
Damnit damnit! Did she not know that putting on such a face only made her look even more beautiful!? Eugene sighed in heart.
"I can walk on my own" rejected Faye subtly.
"I will take you to the highest point of the Deep Forest. Are you sure you can climb this tree?" Eugene's fingers pointed at a tree next to Faye.
Faye's head perfectly looked up to find the treetop in question, then he let out a pitiful laugh. Finally, the fyriel welcomed Eugene's hand. Within seconds Faye's body was already in the devoile's arms. His head seemed to spin because it was too embarrassed in Eugene's body's embrace.
Eugene's pitch darkness formed wings, bringing the two of them flying through the night wind. Climb down the tree until you find the highest branch. Eugene sat Faye down on the branch slowly, then he followed after removing his dark wings. Faye's eyes sparkled in amazement at the surrounding reserves.
"The Rosemary Lake, the entire Deep Forest, and the entire Western and Eastern Assyrian Kingdoms, are all visible from here" Eugene said softly.
Faye nodded in admiration. The sparkle of Rosemary Lake that was struck by the moonlight, the luminous sprinkling of the Eastern Ashre Kingdom, the mysterious splendor of the Western Assyre Kingdom, and the sky that looked so vast and boundless so mesmerized him. A strange gleam burst out, filling the chest of the girl.
"It's so beautiful" Faye sighed through her faintly smiling ringing lips. "Today I saw this beautiful sight...."
"really?" Eugene smiled with one corner of his lips. "I'll make it even more beautiful for you."
Faye widened her eyes, following Eugene's hand movements that reached into something behind his long robe. The Devoile took out a silver-colored flute with exquisite carvings. Faye's heart beat slowly when she saw the sparkling tip of the flute touch Eugene's thin lips.
The soft tone of Eugene's flute stroked Faye's ears. The wind and the frictional sound of the leaves of the trees added to the harmony of the music that warmed his chest. The devoile prince closed his eyes, concentrating on his flute play. Faye could see Eugene's long eyelashes. The moonlight gently shone on the pale skin of the young man. Faye sat so close to Eugene. The tips of his fingers even entered the range of the devoile's dark purple glow, but he did not feel the slightest pain. Strange, but it is undeniable that Faye is grateful for this.
Eugene opened his eyes, glancing at Faye with a glare that made the girl feel lulled by her beauty. In that instant, Faye realized that the perfect beauty was by her side, with her gently staring at her. Their fingertips accidentally touched, but Faye did not want to pull her hand.
Since losing her mother, Eugene often went to this place to be alone, while closing his eyes playing the flute that his mother had taught him, hundreds of years ago the young man did it to calm the heart. But tonight, he found a pair of sparkling purple eyes staring at him when he opened his eyes. At that moment he felt something much deeper. Much more to calm his heart.
Eugene stopped his flute play. His heart rate halted for a moment, feeling the tip of his fingers touch Faye's as you intended to put your hands on the branch of the tree they were sitting on. A strange sense of heat radiated from the fingers all over his body.
"Are you really a devoile?" Eugene turned his head, finding disbelief from Faye's eyes. "You mean?"
"That flute really touched my heart." The fyriel turned her eyes and then looked down. "Dad and Kyrion always said that the devoile is a creature that spreads fear, darkness and revenge"
"That's how we are."
Faye frowned. "But I don't see it in you...."
Eugene's red eyes glanced at the girl. There was not a word he could say to answer Faye.
"Why don't you pull your hand?" Eugene asked back, half whispering.
He looked at the girl. He could see Faye's small neck that was slitting saliva, preparing an appropriate answer. And during that silence without an answer, their fingers remained in touch and did not shift in the slightest. The darkness from Eugene's body was much stronger than Faye's light, making Faye's fingers that came into contact with him seem to be ingested in the dark purple glow.
"I..," Faye's voice whirred.
Eugene didn't take his eyes off Faye's lips.
"Maybe I'm the craziest devoile in the entire Western Assyrian Kingdom" he whispered. "And it's because of you, Faye."
Faye's cheeks are flushed. Eugene himself could feel the heat that had started in his hand was now creeping into his face. Crazy, maybe it's the silliest words he's ever said in a lifetime to describe himself, but he really feels it now. That fyriel made him feel lulled, exerting a far more devastating effect than the most intoxicating bottle of wine in the entire Assyrian Kingdom.
"Like this..." Eugene. Faye was turning her face away from him, but she was sure the line had come from the girl's lips. Uncompletely he thought, Faye turned her head and face, the two of them immediately faced. "I just want to be like this for a little longer."
Faye could see the shadow of her own face in Eugene's pupils.
For Freya! What did I just say to Eugene!? It felt like Faye's body wanted to melt so messed up and embarrassed. Her lips had moved beyond the control of logic, only to follow the desires of her heart that had grown more and more ridiculous when she was near Eugene. "I don't mind." That sweet smile on those pale lips was like pouring ice water on Faye's head.
Faye felt Eugene's fingers move, now that the devoile's warm hand had clasped her hand. And the young man's gaze locked onto Faye's entire joint movement, freezing the time the two of them were both looking at the eye bead before each other. Just like that, but what they felt was much deeper than what it looked like.
The night breeze. The smell of trees, grass and flowers. Rustling leaves singing the melody of the forest. The soft light of the moon. Seconds by seconds the two eyes met, leaving no gap whatsoever, filling the hearts of those who wanted each other.
A wild wolf howled, reminding the two creatures to blink an item once. "It's past midnight" Eugene whispered without taking a look. "You'd better go home now and go to bed." Faye answered with just two blinks. "OKay?" Eugene asked for an answer.
Finally Faye nodded heavily. Faye knew she should not be selfish, just indulge her own desires. It also should not be careless. Meeting Eugene at night by secretly running away from home like this was already a dangerous thing. Faye had to be clever to take everything into account so that no one would know this.
Eugene laughed softly. "I'm a devoile, an evil creature. I could've kept you here all the time for myself." He put aside the strands of white hair that almost covered Faye's eyes. "Therefore go home, before I change my mind, miss."
Faye tried to take a breath into her lungs that felt narrowed. His feet were still too heavy to leave this place. Eugene's eyebrows shot up. The young man sighed softly. He took off the ruby earring he always wore to his left ear and gave it into Faye's grasp. Faye's cheeks turned red again as Eugene's pale lips kissed the back of his hand.
"Bring up, so you can sleep well." Eugene's one eye winked.
Faye stared at the ruby earrings in her grasp. The girl felt that she had to give something so that Eugene could also remember her, rather she wanted the devoile prince to always remember her and think of her. Faye pulled a purple ribbon that tied up her long hair, that's all she's carrying tonight.
"I'm not sure you can sleep well without this." Faye thrust it at Eugene.
"Are you really a fyriel? You're pretty good at teasing me." Eugene laughing.
Faye just snorted and turned her eyes in the other direction. "I'll take you to the border."
The black hoofed hand pulled Faye gently and the wings of darkness immediately spread wide under the moonlight, taking her flying. Faye knew she had to close her eyes, enjoying her final moments in Eugene's arms tonight.
