In his closed eyes Briel took a deep breath–in. The time he spent last night felt so long. His lips were pulled upwards, within his closed eyes. It seems that he still feels that emptiness.
Briel smiled miris. "Still the same," he murmured with his body still lying.
Slowly he opened his eyes. The thing he saw first was the ceiling of the room. The white color was increasingly showing the emptiness within him. Briel took a deep breath.
"All right, let's welcome the day."
Briel started to sit back. He looked at his wife who was still asleep in the morning without any sign of– signs want to wake up again. At first glance he tried to give the best smile for his wife, hoping Gea saw it.
Step by step, he walked over to his wife's bed.
"Good morning my heart."
Briel stared in that plain pale face. Sticky, take inch by inch the beauty of his wife even by falling asleep though. Briel kissed Gea's forehead slowly. Long enough he gave me that kiss. He poured out all his affection through the kiss, hoping Gea could feel his presence there.
"Room up and come back, yes" said Briel.
Not long after that came a doctor with a nurse beside him. He came to check on how Gea was currently.
"For Mr. Briel" said the Doctor.
"Yes, morning Doc."
Briel invites the doctor to examine how his wife is doing.
"How's Doc doing with my current wife?"
The doctor stared for a long time at Gea. His fingers moved against each other. He was also confused by Gea's current condition.
The doctor took a slow deep breath. He tried to make the patient's family not anxious.
"Your wife's condition is getting better. It's just that I also don't know when your wife will stay asleep like this."
There was a sadness on the doctor's face. Not willing to actually convey it all. But whatever happens, he has to tell the patient's family.
The relief that had originally spread within Briel was now beginning to dim again. But at least he should be grateful because it means it is likely Gea to wake up again.
"Thank you Doc" said Briel with a slightly forced smile.
"Please keep your wife in touch. Perhaps that way he has more desire to wake up." The doctor gave me advice.
Briel nodded. "Ready Doc. Whatever I'll do."
The doctor smiled. "Mrs Briel, I say goodbye ..." The doctor greeted Gea who was still asleep. "Mr ..." The doctor also said goodbye to Briel by nodding his head with a smile. Briel only replied with the same thing.
Briel pulled a chair not far from there. He brought the chair close to the bed. He grabbed Gea's soft hand, not wanting to hurt his wife.
"Hey Honey... Did you hear it? Your condition is improving now."
"Dear, wake up. Do you want to fall asleep like this? Don't you want to see them both? They miss you, honey."
Briel goes to great lengths to wake Gea up. But it looks like the effort he did still can not make Gea moved.

Now they all sat together in the hospital's front-floor restaurant; Briel, Frans, Tere, and Edi. To be at the same table, they must force the real Briel to accompany her.
"Come Son. You should also pay attention to your health. Look at you now. Your side is growing wild."
Briel refused to answer anything. He just stared at Frans with a rough sigh. He tried to obey them even with a heavy heart.
"Yes" he answered briefly.
"It looks like we need to move Gea to a bigger hospital." Suddenly Edi opened the conversation.
"For what?" sahut Briel fast.
"Medical equipment in the city is more complete. Maybe that way Gea can be handled better." Edi really– really do not believe anymore with the quality of the hospital there. Briel's words about how Gea's condition undermined his beliefs.
"No need, Pa." Briel answered with an empty look.
"Hufft why?! Gea deserves the best. Not with such a state of no end like this!" Edi began to stir up his emotions.
"Or don't you start getting bored with my son who currently can't do anything, lying helpless like that?!"
Edi really– lost control. He uttered all those words. He wants the best for his son. But the son-in-law refused it raw–mentah. He looked at Briel with guts. All the bad thoughts were in his mind, herding all the faults Briel could see.
"Isn't that right?" edi to the point.
Briel was still silent with the same gaze. His teeth stopped chewing the food he had put into his mouth while Frans held Tere who was preparing to explode due to not receiving it all.
