The road is severely jammed. There was a large truck with flat tires that blocked two large road currents. The wooden load is scattered due to the condition of the truck that is tilted and from the beginning the contents of the load are excessive. Moreover, many motorbike drivers are impatient, making other vehicles so snaking long.
Sandhi's car became one of the private cars that were stuck in traffic. It had been about thirty minutes that his car had not moved forward. But it was dark. Plus, Sandhi's car had to turn around because of the diversion of the road, making Sandhi really could not make it to the city on time.
The car's air conditioner was reduced when Sandhi saw Fani shivering in the cold. Several times Fani complained of hunger. But what is power. Because the traffic was so bad, they could do nothing. All you can do is be patient while waiting for the flow of the vehicle back smoothly.
“Sandhi,” call Fani in a soft tone.
“Sleep first. I'll wake up when I get to.”
“I'm hungry.” Fani.
Sandhi did not. Fani said the same thing and Sandhi told her to be patient. This time as soon as the question was repeated, Sandhi was reluctant to repeat the answer. That's exactly what Sandhi is feeling right now. Hungry and tired, especially today Sandhi must give up Intan for a man who really deserves to be chosen. Grows already a burden on Sandhi's heart.
“Oh Sandhi, I'm hungry once.”
Fani again whines, but again Sandhi chooses not to listen. In Sandhi's mind, she recalled the moment when Devano bravely took the opportunity to save Intan. Absolutely reckless, but indeed that is what should be done for the size of someone who harbors feelings and does not want to lose.
“Sandhi,” call Fani again.
Sandhi, he still did not respond. His gaze focused forward, staring at the cars that were also stuck in traffic. However, Sandhi's heart and mind continued to soar far remembering all his precious moments about Intan. Occasionally his smile was imprinted on his face, but it ended with a frown on his forehead. There was such disappointment, remembering that Intan was no longer within his reach.
“Sandhiiiii!”
“Iya I know you're hungry! Same, me too!” Sandhi responded to Fani's call with a high tone.
“Sorry. I didn't mean to disturb your daydream. But that's .. look!” Fani's index finger is pointing forward.
And, it turns out that the traffic jam has been resolved. The car in front of Sandhi was already moving forward. Fani had earlier called Sandhi's name to warn her because the car behind her had pressed the horn repeatedly, but Sandhi did not hear.
“Are you tired?” ask Fani.
The slack was chosen by Sandhi as the answer.
“Let me replace driving a car, if I may. Brother Falen once taught me how to drive a car,” said Fani.
“How many times?”
“Two times.”
“Learn again until you have a driving license.”
Fani was silent. No more offering up or complaining of hunger. From that moment Sandhi's answer made him have to endure a sense of patience. Mental Fani is really tested. However, Fani can't do much because she needs Sandhi's help.
After fifteen minutes out of the traffic jam, Sandhi's car was pulled over at the food stands. Fani didn't ask much. He remained calm while waiting for Sandhi to start a conversation.
“Come, down!” Sandhi took off her seat belt.
Fani according. The seat belt is removed, then it gets out of the car. Fani tailed behind Sandhi until she reached the fried rice wagon. The aroma that smelled until it made Fani's stomach sound very loud.
“I want to order first.”
Fani nodded. His steps swayed looking for a seat that was still empty. The corner spot is Fani's choice. It's not really an option, it's just that empty place left.
Sandhi came back quickly. Fani until clumsy, awkward, and confused looking for a topic of pleasantries. It was Sandh's attitude that made the clumsiness there. At a time like this, Sandhi's face looked unfriendly at all.
“Pak Sandhi's. Good night, Mr.”
Sandhi nodded, then smiled at someone who had just greeted her. The one who greeted was Sandhi student.
“Bu Sandhi, excuse me.” The student also greeted Fani, then left.
Fani blinked quickly. He does not understand the situation.
“That was who?” ask Fani.
“One of the students in my class.”
Fani's eyes widened. Fani did not expect that Sandhi was a lecturer. Before this Fani even thought that Sandhi was a model because of her charming appearance.
“Why? Surprised?”
“Oh nooo. Absolutely not.”
Fani immediately turned her gaze towards the fried rice wagon. Fortunately, the order of fried rice was ready, so Fani no longer needed to make a pleasantry topic. Once the fried rice was in sight, Fani actually remembered something about her financial condition.
“Em, Mr. Good-natured Lecturer. It's free, right?”
“Of course not!”
Fani's face spontaneously welcomes. He stirred the fried rice on his plate without any intention of eating.
“You can pay when you have a salary. Just count everything first,” explained Sandhi.
“Ya.” That's all Fani said. This time he started eating fried rice on his plate despite the not-so-happy mood.
While Sandhi. At the moment he is really tired. Tired of heart, mind, and energy. Everything exists. The most obvious one was tired in his heart. There is a sense of disappointment anyway. Never mind smiling at Fani, smiling to herself Sandhi was not able to.
Fifteen minutes of silence. Sandhi and Fani finish their fried rice without making any chatter. Sandhi ate while throwing up the wishful thinking, while Fani did choose silence because she did not want to add gloom on Sandhi's face which clearly her mind was not here.
“Em, may I ask?” Fani could no longer hold back. His curiosity is really high.
“Please.”
“Lelaki named Devano, he's your rival huh?”
How dare Fani ask that. Really lead to the core question, without preceded by a pleasantry sentence.
“Not your business,” answered Sandhi briefly.
“Means true. Devano is your rival. Then ... You have a crush on Intania Zhesky. I'm right, right?”
Fani exposed her prejudice in a carefree tone. It was very different from the facial expression Sandhi showed. In response, Sandhi simply threw a glance. Hard code so that Fani no longer continues.
“Ayolah ... be honest with me, San.”
“Bu-kan your business!” Sandhi was stricter than before.
After Sandhi gave an affirmation, Fani fell silent. But that doesn't mean Fani gave up on the bluff. He just continued.
Sandhi looked away.
“I know you're hard to accept, San. Especially about Intan's future husband. You must be disappointed. I know it.”
Sandhi. “Moreover what you know?”
“I know ... Your heart is not fine.”
Sandhi standing. “Come to the car!”
Sandhi went first. Fani's sentence was completely ignored. His steps were swung to the brother of the fried rice seller to pay for the order.
Along the way to Sandhi's rented property, no chat was created between Sandhi or Fani. They both fell silent. The atmosphere in the car even feels cooler even though the AC is not turned on.
Sandhi's car arrived at a minimalist house that looked beautiful. Quickly Sandhi got out of the car, climbed up the gate, then headed for one key storage location. Only Sandhi and her mother knew about the little secret.
“Please enter!” Sandhi widens the gate, then welcomes.
The door was also opened. Room lights, shower faucets, kitchen, and sink were also checked by Sandhi.
“This is key. I'm going home first.”
“Em, to ...”
“For that money 10 million, I give it tomorrow. Give me your HP number.”
Sandhi hands over her phone so that Fani can type in her mobile number. However, Fani just shook her head. Sensitive Sandhi can immediately guess that Fani left her phone to avoid chasing Falen.
“Good. I'm going home first.”
“Eh, wait!” Fani holds Sandhi's arm.
Seconds later, “Let go of my hand!”
“Oke, sorry.”
Sandhi continued his steps. Unexpectedly, Fani actually called out a phrase of encouragement to Sandhi. l
“Pak Lecturer! You're the best! Trust me, everything will be fine! Don't forget to eat! Sleep well! Tomorrow will be much more indaaaah!” Fani kept on exclaiming until Sandhi got into her car.
Despite looking indifferent, Sandhi heard all those words. Sandhi smiled wryly, then took a deep breath in order to improve the feeling.
“Thank you, Fani.” Inner Sandhi. He turned to Fani for a bit, then drove his car at a moderate speed.
***
In Reynal's place, Jefri excited to tell the complaint of the Big Boss Pak on Devano. Jefri recounted the saturation part when he heard the complaints of the Big Boss Sir who kept repeating.
“You mean the branch that just opened last year?” Devano.
“Iya, Dev. Around there competitors mushroomed. I think it's natural.”
“If you are Big Boss Sir, that is quite worrying.” Reynal responded.
“But the Big Boss complained about it over and over again, Rey. I'm bored!”
“That's reasonable.” Reynal responded.
“Ah, you are not cool, Rey!”
Jefri changed his sitting position, so it was right next to Devano.
“Terus .. earlier I advised Mr. Big Boss to change the management system. Also, it needs a capable person to lead there. Then, Mr. Boss ask for one name to recommend.” Jefri was serious.
“Whose name do you call?” Devano.
“There is not a single name that I call. I just said don't know.”
Devano instantly gave his thumbs up.
“But, Dev. When I got home from work, I was called back to the Big Boss' room. Your name's called. Benny proposed. Continue, Big Boss sir asked my opinion.”
Devano's facial features changed immediately. His feelings are becoming more. He does not want to be transferred out of town in the condition that he will apply for Intan.
“Quiet first, Dev.” Jefri was able to understand Devano's thoughts back then. “So I turned around,” Jefri added.
“Means?”
“Benny says your name. And, I mentioned Benny's name too. Plus I persuaded, kurayu, and I convinced Big Boss sir to choose Benny to be placed in the printing branch.”
“Pak Boss agrees?”
“Yo’i, Bro!”
Relieved. Devano leaned directly on the sofa cushion. Finally he was able to calm down because he was not burdened with work.
“But, Bro.”
“But what else, Jef?”
Just now Devano was relieved, Jefri had made a word but the new successful made Devano so anxious again.
“This is not a job problem. Last time you came here, there was Dhea in the parking lot.”
Reynal, who had been silent, now approached beside Jefri and Devano. The name Dhea caught his attention.
“Dhea left something behind," continued Jefri.
“Forku?” ask Devano.
“True. I take it first in the motor seat.”
What did Dhea tell Devano? Wow, Jefri has managed to reverse the recommendation made by Benny. How's proceeding? When will Devano propose to Intan? Immediately or delayed? Looking forward to this novel!
