Devano's bike is ready to deliver Intan. However, Intan still refused Devano's offer politely. Bonding with someone who has not had any status with himself will surely invite a big question mark, that is what Intan is thinking.
“No, Dev. Thank ye. I'm on foot.”
“You're afraid someone's talking about us, huh?”
Intan nodded. “We are not a couple,” said Intan who actually invited an unexpected response from Devano.
“Then ... You want to be my partner, right? Let me just piggyback.”
Devano. Stop teasing me!” Intan immediately looked to the left right, worried that someone would hear their conversation. “I better ride ojek only,” chirps Intan then.
“What if you get a male driver? Still want to ride the ojek? Bang ojeknya is not your partner.” Devano widened his smile, looking once so relished that Intan's expression began to change.
“Already. I'm going home.”
Intan's footsteps swayed again. This time a little faster in order to avoid Devano. Unfortunately, his steps were overtaken. Not unexpectedly, Devano actually equates the steps of Intan using his motor.
“You sulk, Tan?”
“Ngak.”
“Tuh, still pouting.”
Intan immediately turned his head and widened his smile at Devano. Just a glance, then look back to the front while still walking.
“You just go home, Dev.”
“No. I'll take you until you cross the big road.”
Intan's breath sounded. He gave up, let alone what Devano wanted to do.
A few seconds of silence, Intan's heart suddenly pounded. “Hee heart, relax!” Inner Diamond, while still swinging his legs.
Step foot Intan up at the end of the road. It was time to say goodbye to Devano. Beyond a doubt, the raindrops suddenly took on a role. In fact, it only takes a few seconds until heavy rain flushes the earth without notice. Intan, he who originally chose to run to the house must also undo the intention. He was alone in the coffee shop. Yes, initially Intan thought Devano had left, so Intan could take shelter in a coffee shop alone. In fact, Devano took shelter in the same place.
"Dev, you're coming along shady too?”
“Iya, Tan. You can see me raining.”
“Kan only rain water, later also dry.” Intan smiled widely. “As fish pond splash time.”
At that instant Devano laughed crisply because he remembered his words when he had joined the fish pond to accompany Intan so as not to get wet alone. Laughter long enough to invite the attention of people around, especially the visitors of the coffee shop that at that time was also caught in the rain.
“Please laugh, Deeev.” Intan half whispered.
“Yuk, find a seat! I bought coffee.”
There is no other choice for Intan than to accept Devano's invitation. After all, the rain flushed even more so until the cold was clearly felt Intan could feel. Steeping coffee friends stories will surely warm and change his mood.
Two cups of black coffee have been served, along with a warm fried banana that was chosen to be a friend. Intan and Devano were initially quiet, but they were both aware that chatter was an important thing they could do. Not just to fill the time while waiting for rain, but there is a chance to meet after their togetherness in the clear water lake at that time.
“How's your matchmaking?” Devano asked after struggling with his heart, whether to ask or not, but finally asked also by him.
“Cancel.” Intan's smile expands. “Thank you, Dev.”
“Thank you for what?”
“For your words back then. After teaching the children of the lake.” Again, Intan's smile expands full of sincerity.
Without Intan realizing it, Devano's heart was pounding. Devano has entangled Intan's sincere smile.
How much love no one knows when it will come. Sometimes it is not able to be said in words, but the turmoil to give a rhythmic beat. Dag-dig-dug-in. Devano was lulled by the beauty of Intan's smile, until he forgot how to properly arrange sentences.
“I ... glad to hear.”
“Hm? What did you say just now?”
“Nothing. Forget.” Devano scratched his non-itchy head.
For a moment, both Intan and Devano both enjoyed their drinking time. Black coffee that is half bitter until it no longer tastes bitter. The cold rain to the fear of approaching because of the mood of Intan and Devano that warms the situation.
“Of course. Being a designer is my choice.”
Intan turned towards Devano while widening his smile. Intan's eyeballs are so fixed staring, that it almost makes Devano misbehave.
“You like it?” tanya Intan without turning her eyes away.
“Ya, I like .. his.”
Intan's smile turned into a light laugh. “Truly love it?”
Devano. “Of course.”
“Liking what?” Question Intan full of bait.
“You're like this, Tan. I like it.” Inner Devano.
“I mean, do you like your job, Dev?”
Devano's expression back then could not be explained. Seemed to think, half confused, to mix with the wrong behavior that he nimbly prevented to look excessive in front of Intan.
“Yes. I like my job. How about you?”
Finally, Devano managed to overcome himself and was able to ask back. The word snub that Devano used to tease Intan to the point that she was unable to use because of her pounding heart condition.
“I …." Intan lowered his head for a moment, then continued his words. “ I don't like it, Dev.”
The deg!
Devano's smile instantly faded, replaced with a look of wonder. Intan's answer was unexpected, even shocking. Wh why? What makes you not like your job? Those questions immediately filled Devano's mind.
“Why? Didn't you enjoy your time teaching? I saw it for myself when you taught the lake boys back then.”
“Yes. I just love my time teaching, but not with others.”
“Example?”
“Like .. faces who think of me as a rival. Confessing partner, but in fact dropping from behind. I don't like it.”
The Intan sentence sounded like an outpouring of heart that Devano could not ignore.
“I think, just ignore it. They will also be tired. Most importantly, you enjoy your time while teaching your students at school. If anyone thinks of you as a rival, it means your light is absolutely dazzling."
Once again Intan widened his smile while glaring his eyes at Devano. That's what Intan expected. Not a corrupting answer, let alone a comparison. Actually Intan already understood what he had to do. Again, what Intan needs is reinforcement. However, there are other things that Intan actually needs. Not only reinforcement, but the presence of someone who is always there for him, listening to every outpouring of his heart, and able to provide wise motivation for the situation he is facing. That said, what Intan needs is a shoulder to lean on that is wrapped in halal ties.
“Tan, why are those smiles, anyway?” Forced Devano said so to cover up his gnawing due to Intan's smile.
“Yee. Smile time can't, anyway?” Intan immediately pursed her lips.
“Can-can only. But there is no need to bring people like that too.”
“Ha? You mean my face is scary?” Intan seriously asked.
“Iya.”
“Ya. Far away there!”
“Cie. Someone is snatching.”
“Terexistent.”
Although asked Devano to distance himself from him, but Intan was the one who shifted his seat a few inches from Devano. And again, for the second time, all the expressions and reactions created between Intan and Devano were recorded on camera. There were a pair of eyes that were watching the two of them. The same guy as before. The man who just a few minutes ago came to the coffee shop managed to get what he wanted.
“Mission succeeded,” said the man.
Who is this mysterious man? What kind of mission did he intend on Intan and Devano? Looking forward to the story!
Thank you author for reading My Destiny with You who immediately continued reading this novel. A little different from the characters in the previous author's novel, but hopefully the reader likes it. Conflict is mild, unlike Alenna's Love Bond novel. Critical advice is welcome.
