DESERVEDLY

DESERVEDLY
Chapter 23 - Confession

One whiteboard was filled with Sandhi's writing. The writing is large, clear, and certainly no student who fails to understand in interpreting the mathematics he is describing. But, in the room where Sandhi was located there were no students at all. Sandhi filmed himself with a tripod and camera. The videos made will be uploaded on his personal account as preparation for teaching materials that can be accessed by students.

The video that Sandhi made became a cover for her busy activities on campus. At exactly four in the afternoon, Sandhi headed for the parking lot. There are only a few cars parked there, because Sandhi's coworkers have gone home first, even some other tasks outside the city. Sandhi chose not to rush home, because at home he had been waiting for the mother's grunts. It has happened a few times, and this time Sandhi really started to saturate.

“See Nisa! Last morning she went to see mom while showing off her rich future husband!”

“Leave it, Ma. That means Nisa doesn't deserve me.”

“Boddoh you, San! You should be the one with Nisa. Not that man!”

“Mama what is it, anyway? Childhood alone in boddoh-boddohin? Mama should ikhlash with decision Sandhi.”

The mother crossed her arms, then threw her eyes away.

“Mama can't ikhlash yet, because you prefer women who are totally inappropriate with you!”

“Intan fast for Sandhi, Ma. Paras and his heart is beautiful.”

“Heleh. Know what you're about to deserve, San. My mom is experienced. Better know, which woman is more worthy of you.”

Actually Sandhi still wants to continue his defense sentence, but Sandhi really does not want to constantly clash words let alone come out harsh words from his mouth.

Drrrt-drrt

Sandhi's memory instantly waned as soon as her phone vibrated. Sandhi rubbed his face for a while, in order to expel the gloomy memory of the mother's protest that occurred last night.

“Iya hello, Rey. What's up?”

The call was from Reynal, Devano's best friend who also knew Sandhi well. Reynal claimed to be in the town where Sandhi lived. Not first pleasantries, Reynal asked to meet at D’cafe Miraculous. A cafe not far from the campus where Sandhi teaches. Cafe which is often a place for young tongkrongan who hunt snacks.

It took about ten minutes for Sandhi to reach the location. Soon he went to the table where Reynal was waiting for him. It is on the second floor, and the visitors are not as crowded on the main floor.

“How are you friends?” Sapa Sandhi once saw the figure of Reynal.

“Good, as you can see, San. Come sit! I ordered you a drink.”

Sandhi looked at two glasses of avocado juice with a diced avocado topping. It was Sandhi's favorite drink. Looks green, fresh, and certainly a healthy drink.

“Times in college, Intan likes to order this drink. Before he finally became a fan of coffee.” Sandhi recalled the memories of a few years ago when she was in college with Intan.

“Intania Zhesky. Was he famous enough on campus?” reynal asked, making Sandhi even more excited to bring up the memory.

“Of course. Especially after she won the storytelling contest.” Sandhi smiled to herself remembering that moment.

Reynal, he faithfully listens to Sandhi's past story pieces with Intan. Reynal did not rush to interrupt Sandhi's sentence in order to convey the important news brought. Reynal really is a good listener.

“Oh yes. Is there any info about men that Intan likes?” Sandhi was on this question.

“Iya. There are. But, after you hear all this, I hope our friendship is still okay.” Reynal began his sentence.

From there the atmosphere of the cafe seemed to change. More serious than the first time Sandhi arrived. Sandhi is hooked with Reynal's opening line, which reminds him of friendship. It was really a strict code of words so that Sandhi's expression didn't cross the line.

“It seems like circumstances are not in my favor, huh?” guess Sandhi.

“I didn't say that, San. Today could be different than next week. It may be that today the situation does not side with you, but at other times you can actually achieve your wishes.”

“What do you mean is destiny?”

Reynal nodded. “Nobody knows a person's destiny,” he added later.

Sandhi was silent for a moment. He tried to calm his heart and mind.

“Then, what do you want to tell me, Rey?”

“The man Intan likes, he is my best friend. Name's Devano. Devano Albagri.”

Yep. Reynal knows everything. Not from Devano himself, but from Jefri. Yesterday night Jefri met Reynal and told him about Devano and Intan. Of course Jefri did it secretly, unbeknownst to Devano. All that Jefri did to support the love story of his best friend and coworker. Jefri doesn't want Devano to give up on Sandhi.

“Then, does Devano also love Intan?” ask Sandhi, curious.

“Iya.”

Instantly, Sandhi's eyeballs were rolled towards the ceiling of the cafe. He saw everything that was found there. Decorative lights, ornaments, and many other good objects, but did not attract the attention of Sandhi at all. There was a sense of ugliness that Sandhi was currently feeling in his heart.

Afterwards, Sandhi and Reynal separated. Sandhi went to his house, while Reynal immediately returned to his city. So far Sandhi can keep his calm attitude in front of Reynal. Once parted ways, then Sandhi expressed his disappointment. His car seat-back cushion was an easy target, hit repeatedly by a heartbroken Sandhi.

At night, in the town where Intan lives. Intan looked to massage both legannya because of aches. There was Mira who had noticed. Already intend to be ignorant, but urung done.

“What are the children playing at school, Kak?” ask Mira.

“Take the ball.”

“Oh. So sore because of the ball?”

“Ya is not, anyway. Last afternoon spent nyuci, draining the bathroom, mopping. Brother tired because you bumped!” Intan is upset, because it should be Mira's turn to clean the bathroom today. Intan is forced to take over because Mira is hiding.

“Hihi. Sorry-sorry. Instead, yuk Mira makes fried noodles.”

“Not necessary, Mir. Brother is going out. There's promise.”

“Oh. Want Mira to accompany?”

“No need. Brother alone.”

Mira nodded. No longer offering strange things because he saw the brother who looked serious earlier. Mira did not know if Intan's mind had guessed at the person she would meet tonight. A fan, a friend, or just one prank.

At seven o'clock in the night. Nana’s ice cream crowded visitors. Most young people who want to try a new variant of ice cream. No matter day or night, for those who want, will surely come to buy their favorite ice cream soon.

Intan's steps swayed slowly entering the nana's ice cream area. His eyes were circulated in all directions, hoping that the person who invited him would wave at him.

Fail. There is absolutely no sign of people who intend to approach Intan. In fact, Intan's step had already reached the end of the room.

Turning around, Intan once again circulated a glance. And ... this time Intan caught the figure of someone. A man, and very intan knows. The man sat at one of the tables, alone, and was looking at Intan.

"Devano," said Intan lirih.

It feels wrong. If not, Intan is clearly wrong. Want to be angry can not do Intan because before this he and Devano was not in a special relationship. There is no other way. Intan smiled knots, then approached Devano's desk.

"Hi, Dev." Intan greeted first.

"Hi." Devano stood up from his seat.

Lousy. Both Intan and Devano were confused.

"Amselves, Dev?" It was Diamond who finally opened up the sound after the awkwardness between them.

"Not really. This is waiting for you, Tan."

"Hm? Wait for me?"

"Yes." Yeah." Devano widened his smile.

Obviously Intan showed a confused mimic, until then Intan remembered the name of the sender of the face painting.

"agoyngab96.ph. Is that your nickname?"

"No, Tan. It was my brother. He sassyly entered my room and took your face painting."

Intan's face suddenly blushed due to Devano's explanation. There's a painting of Intan's face in Devano's room. That explanation part is what makes Intan's mind so everywhere.

"You ... painted my face? What's for?" tanya Intan hesitated.

"Sit down first, Tan. I'll make a confession."

"Confession .. what?"

Devano started with a smile. In his heart was so calm. After that, slide a sentence that makes Intan widen the view.

"Constant. I don't like you" said Devano. "Because ..I don't deserve you," he added.

Connect ....

Is that really Devano's word? How is the Intan reaction? Curious? Looking forward to the story! Like+Fav 💜
