Crossing the World

Crossing the World
The XXIX Sehlter (Karen)

The red dots that appear in the virtual map show how many mutants I will face. It was only about ten mutants for each place, but given how thick the red mutant skin was the last time I met, I should not underestimate them.

"Of course this time I won't lose because there's this!"

I pulled the handle of the silver sword sheathed on my back, pulled it all at once and raised it proudly. The sparkle reflected by the high-pressure density carbon fiber displayed the impression that the blade itself was emitting light. As my eyes - which were sharpened by exoskeleton armor - stared at the blade of the sword in my right hand, tiny carbon molecules shot back and forth at speeds reaching mach 2, making the blade like a high-speed chainsaw that can even cut chunks of diamond like splitting butter.

"Light up, Excalibur! Destroy the evil monsters that have spread terror to our kingdom!"

[Please focus on the mission. Every time you waste, there are broken mechas and towers]

Be-noisy! At least let me fantasize for a moment!

Well ... let's do our best to remove them. Hopefully these monsters can cheer me up a little.

I made a space jump twice towards the first coordinate point which was about a kilometer away from the red dot on the map. As soon as my field of view changed, five annoying red mutants were seen tearing apart the transmitter tower that had been painstakingly built.

I darted straight towards them, ignoring the shockwave created from the sudden maneuvers I performed. Without waiting for them to notice me, the electromagnetic sword in my right hand had swung, splitting the body of one of the mutants with just a single light slash. That huge red body instantly collapsed right after the repulsive force of the propulsive jet I activated managed to suppress the inertia of my body created from the sudden movement.

The other four mutants started to turn their heads towards me, then charged over with the metal rods they had taken from the skeletons of the transmitting tower. For such a gigantic body size, their movements were unbelievably fast and agile. Claws made of carbon fiber tried to tear my body apart, but I mostly managed to avoid it.

The second mutant fell down after my electromagnetic sword pierced his stomach and then tore his body vertically until his upper body part was split apart. Unfortunately, less than a second later a violent impact hit me in the stomach and knocked me more than a kilometer away from them.

"Ught ... "

I rolled on the ground a few times, then sprawled with the sensation of pain in the abdomen.

Looks like the muscular body is not just a mere display. Their kicks were even able to penetrate the exoskeleton armor I was wearing. If only I hadn't worn it, my body would have turned into mush by now.

I quickly stood up and immediately focused on staring at the three. In a real battle like this, it would be dangerous if I did not get up as soon as I got hit. A little time-wasting will get me killed.

Through the eyeballs reinforced by the armor, I saw six metal rods darting towards me with incredible speed. The accuracy of the throw and how fast the acceleration of these metals is really terrible. They were born to be the best spear throwers.

The first and second metal rods escaped with only a slight evasive movement. The third metal I cut with an electromagnetic sword while the fourth metal rod I changed its trajectory by hitting the side of the metal front. Two other metal rods I let pass because my previous movements had made myself out of the path of the two metal rods.

Realizing that I managed to dodge everything, the three mutants let out a loud roar before finally darting back towards me at a terrifying speed.

One of them got there first. He then swung his hand with the intention of clawing at me. I again put the electromagnetic sword together to collide with the claw of his hand. Just like before, that big hand split into two easily. I did not waste the opportunity and directly split his head diagonally, cutting the part of his head and left shoulder into two neat pieces.

The mutant then leaped towards me blindly followed by a loud roar as if drowning in anger. I shifted my body slightly to avoid being at his safest and directly split it with a single swing.

When he saw all his comrades dead, the last mutant halted his steps and stood still looking at me. The look on his angry face had gone, changed with a look full of horror at what had happened to his friends.

"I'm surprised to know that even a primitive ugly creature like you can feel fear." Even though she knew she didn't understand what I was saying, I kept talking to her. "Come on, man."

Unexpectedly, the creature turned around and started running away from me. His steps were even faster than before. I looked at his departure with satisfaction and joy.

"ahaha! Run, Forrest, run!"

Ah, this shithead AI always breaks my mood when it's good.

"Originally you know. That shout was quite iconic on earth several tens of years ago!"

[I don't care. Get your business done immediately]

Ahh~ for free I explained things about the earth to this damn program. It is better to give in and continue my mission without caring about the little things. However, before that

...

I activated the booster jet, darting at a speed reaching mach one towards the red mutant away. Then, after looking at it, I targeted my trajectory towards the creature and directly kicked its back with my knees the moment I reached it. His huge body rolled forward, smashing into the rocky ground so hard that his body was covered in wounds that looked quite painful.

I stepped towards him while sheathing the electromagnetic sword into the sword sheath that was on my back. Without hesitation I kicked the huge body with all my might until he rolled back on the ground.

[You shouldn't waste your time doing childish things like this]

"Whisper! Give me at least two minutes."

I snapped at the AI who had been nagging ever since.

The mutant was now lying on the ground with a breath of breath. He looked at me with a sharp gaze, clearly displaying hatred and an unusually strong sense of hostility.

Well ... Hate me, man. That's how you should look at your enemy. Do not let the fear you experience from the terror of your enemy be clearly displayed as before.

"You think you can run away from me, huh?!"

I hit him with a loud voice. However, the mutant remained silent with a threatening look. I clearly don't understand what I'm saying to her.

Without wasting any more time, I beat her head with both hands until her face was out of shape. His canine teeth began to break and his blood flowed from his mouth and nose. Each of my punches had enough impact to slightly damage his skull bones to the sound of a fracture from the sturdy skull.

"Ahahah! This is how war should be!"

I stomped his head with my right foot until it was completely destroyed. Then, in closing, I cut off this pathetic piece of trash head with my sword.

"Yah~ snuffing out enemies is indeed an amazing experience."

[This is one of the factors why you never pass the selection. In addition to often ignoring the mission, your psychological value is too unstable. Being an expedition team is really no match for you]

"Ahh, you broke my mood again! At least let me enjoy my battle without getting any useless criticism from you! Isn't it the most important that the mutants were successfully exterminated?"

AI did not respond to my protest this time. It seems like she also felt guilty for having interrupted my pleasure. No. No. There is no way a stupid machine seems to be able to understand what regret means. He just doesn't care about me!

Let's put aside that annoying AI for now. My next destination was a point on the East side of the bunker. Let's do our best for them too!

I re-activated the wireless teleporter twice in a row.
