Crossing the World

Crossing the World
XXVI - Earth (Mary)

Maria Latifa, a teenage girl employed directly by the owner of Palapa Inc., has just received word of an upcoming guest heading to the laboratory led by her. Given that the research material in the laboratory is an object with a high level of confidentiality, Maria intends to object to the decision of the company's top brass. However, when she learned that the guest was invited by the government, the girl finally agreed and gave her permission.

When he looked directly at the guest in question, Maria had frowned due to confusion.

The person she met was a young girl with brown curly hair. Both of her brown eyeballs stared back at Maria with a blank look that made her a little uncomfortable. The girl then spoke after slightly squinting a friendly smile.

"I'm Tyraell. I came with permission from the President to observe the unit found on West Island Two. It's my identification."

Although her name and appearance were not Asian, strangely the girl spoke with a truly perfect pronunciation and intonation.

Maybe he has lived in this country since childhood. That is the judgment of Mary.

He took the identification card given by the girl. The written data did not contain any personal information, but it was enough to let Maria know why this girl was sent here.

Her full name is Cinderella Marquella Tyraell and she is only 16 years old.  Reading her name made Maria remember a children's story about a girl from the common people who married a prince.

It is rather strange to know the fact that there is someone named after the main character in a famous fictional story. However, it is not good to ask him about the background or the reasons behind his unique name.

Maybe his parents are lovers of children's stories. That was the only reason that came to Mary's head. At least Maria knows one thing for sure, the girl may not like her first name so she introduces herself using her last name only.

In the job column, it says that the girl works as a technician. So, his arrival here might be to help researchers understand the alien components that reside within the mysterious robot body they are researching.

Still, the girl was still quite young and looked inexperienced. This made Maria a little worried. However, due to the direct permission of the President, he chose to waive his judgment and directly escort the girl to the research room.

The first thing Maria showed him was the mysterious robot body parts they found. To this day, all of the talented technicians working at Palapa Inc - including Maria - found various obstacles when examining the robot's motion sensors. So, they had little hope for this girl.

After observing it for some time, instead of trying to dismantle and inspect the inside, the girl named Tyraell muttered something that made Maria and the technicians there somewhat confused.

"If it was Rocco, would he have dismantled it recklessly?" His right hand touched the pile of metal before returning to speak. "However, it is a remarkable invention to see a motion system using highly complex parallel gears instead of hydraulics, dynamos, or non-permanent magnets."

Maria who heard his words fell into shock. He asked enthusiastically to the girl.

"What is parallel gear? How does the system work?"

Tyraell replied to his words without turning his head. His two brown eyeballs were still focused on the body of the robot lying on the iron table.

"In short, this is an automaton doll system. The advantages of the automaton doll system like gears in general. That is converting minimum power to create very strong mechanical power. Unfortunately, the motion system of the automaton doll is too complicated and the movement is quite slow. Although power consumption has a difference of about 97%, I think it is still more efficient if using hydraulics or dynamos."

Maria had heard of the term automaton doll before. However, what he knew about the automaton puppet was only a system that would continuously repeat the same movements. He never thought that such a system could be upgraded into something like this.

He subconsciously became very excited and accidentally spilled the words that should have been classified information.

"That's it, huh? So, in the future we are using an automaton doll system instead of a conventional robot. Is the reason behind this due to a resource crisis?"

Hearing Maria's words, the girl turned to look at her. Then, the look on his face slightly changed as if he was holding back a laugh. Then, Tyraell began to speak in a relaxed tone.

"There can be no one from the future. Direct contact of identical matter will trigger an energy explosion. The explosion was quite small and would not be visible. However, the world will collapse at least in the next 10,000 years. You know about the butterfly effect, right?"

The butterfly effect is a term first coined by mathematician Edward Norton Lorenz. The premise is very simple. The flapping of butterfly wings in Brazil would in theory produce a tornado in Texas a few months later.

Tyraell's speech can be analogous to the premise of the butterfly effect. When subtle and invisible bursts of energy occur, it slowly propagates in the surrounding material. An initially small and trivial explosion slowly turns out to be the equivalent of an atomic bomb, raising it to the size of a star explosion, and can even grow to be as powerful as a bigbang and collapse the universe.

At least that was Tyraell's explanation of the impossibility of humans from the future coming to their timeline.

"Then, is this a particular criminal organization?"

Now they are in Maria's private study. They had a private conversation after realizing that the discussion had become more serious. When there were only the two of them in the room, Maria posed such a question to Tyraell.

"The technology is too different and I don't think someone who can make such an automatic doll exists at all. So, it's impossible that it belongs to a criminal organization." Tyraell's sentence pattern began to use foreign terms that were translated raw into Bahasa Indonesia by him.

Maria who heard him started to sigh in relief. He doesn't know what to respond to if a criminal organization is able to make things beyond the knowledge it already knows. However, he remained curious about the culprit.

"Then, where did this automaton doll come from?"

Tyraell looked at the ceiling for a while, then said the sentence that made Maria freeze in her chair.

"Alien, perhaps?"

Seeing Maria who did not respond to that remark made Tyraell speak again.

"No, not some unknown creature from a different star system. I mean someone who comes from a different dimension."

Whether it was extraterrestrials or beings from another dimension, both of them surprised Maria. The reason for his surprise was clear.

First, the theories associated with the Fermi Paradox would be proven if indeed the source of this equipment was a region located in a different star system. Second, if it comes from a completely different dimension, the equipment can be used as evidence to support the theory of parallel worlds.

Aliens from outer space as well as parallel worlds, both of which will be the most electrifying discoveries of the century.

When Maria came to that conclusion, a simple question suddenly popped into her head.

"How can you be sure that the automaton isn't from another planet?"

Tyraell smiled slightly as Maria posed her question, as if she had prepared the perfect answer to convince Maria.

"Automatic devices are built with the aim of saving power to an extreme stage. In other words, the world in which the doll came could be assumed to be a place in the midst of a resource crisis. Space is a place where resources are abundant. Wouldn't it make no sense if an entity was able to explore outer space but had an energy crisis?"

What he said made enough sense.

Given how the mission of the cruiser has successfully harvested resources from the sun and managed to significantly reduce the use of fuel oil, the amount of radiation from the stars strewn across the sky should be more than enough to sustain a rover as well as a source of energy for the latest generation of robots. It would seem strange if such a complex and inefficient automatic puppet was built on top of an aircraft that had such an abundant source of energy.

"But still, the parallel world was somewhat ... "

Hearing the involuntary murmur coming out of Maria's mouth, Tyraell again expressed his opinion to straighten out Maria's judgment that seemed somewhat distorting.

"I'm not talking about the Parallel Universe, but the Multiverse."

Maria who did not understand the difference between the two asked the girl before her for a brief explanation.

"Let's start with the question. How do you think someone can jump back into the past or far into the future? Something you call time travel?"

Maria answered simply without elaborating, assuming that Tyraell should have known about the content in the theories on which time travel is based.

"The theory of special and general relativity that Einstein put forward."

Hearing that answer, Tyraell shook his head.

"Theoretically that is how it is. However, the fact is that space and time are separate dimensions. Both cannot be manipulated and are absolute. So, using both theories to travel through time is impossible. Time travel is not impossible, though."

"Then, how?"

When Tyraell said that, Maria gulped. He tried to listen to the words that Tyraell would say with great concentration.

"The first dimension is the smallest quantum point called Cael. The second dimension is the line of intersection, or it can be referred to as length by width. The third dimension is volume. The fourth dimension is space. The fifth dimension is a line called time, this line allows us to move. The sixth dimension is weight or gravity. Up here, this is the limit for all of us. All visible matter is matter of the sixth dimension."

Mary had only heard of this theory for the first time. So, he listened to her earnestly and shut his mouth tightly.

"The "seventh dimension is the branch or manipulation of time. The eighth dimension is the root or manipulation of events. The ninth dimension is an infinite point, the universe is in this dimension. Then, the tenth dimension is the bridge between the infinite points, call it the connecting passage between this world and the parallel world. Some scholars believe that black holes are the tenth dimension. However, no one can prove the truth."

Of course, it is impossible to prove the truth of this assumption. No vehicle can escape the gravity of a black hole once they get close.

"The eleventh dimension is a manipulation of the tenth dimension. If only one person could reach this dimension, he would be an entity that could go to any timeline at will. This is what is called time travel, which is a journey where you manipulate ten dimensions at once through the eleventh dimension."

What Tyraell said before starting his explanation is now evident. Mary did not understand at all the brief explanation that was explained to her. However, the point of all his explanations can be caught well. In essence, in order to travel through time, we need to create a plane capable of reaching the eleventh dimension. When he thought about this in silence, Tyraell uttered a sentence that would be the end of his explanation.

"The twelfth dimension is the smallest quantum point called the Parallel Cael. The point is identical to the first dimension, but has almost equal authority with God. This is the multiverse, a universe completely different from our world."

Amidst the silence created from his words, Tyraell tore off a small piece of paper that was on the table and showed it to Mary.

"You know what this is?"

In response to the question, Maria answered innocently.

"Paper tearing?"

"really so. However, do you know the fact that deep inside this paper there is an infinite universe?"

Maria was surprised by a more reasonable remark if it was considered a joke instead of a serious sentence.

"The world is created from a point, where the point is the first dimension. However, on the other hand, the dot is also the twelfth dimension that represents the universe. In other words, the point at which this world's basic matter is actually another universe beyond our imagination."

Her words were indeed quite difficult to understand, but Mary understood with a brief explanation. However, he still disagreed with such radical statements.

"Wait first. Doesn't that make no sense? If that's the case, would you say that in fact our universe is nothing more than this paper tear?"

If the first and twelve dimensions are the same, then the twelfth dimension can also be considered as the first dimension. If so, of course the dimensional cycle would repeat itself without beginning and end. Simply put, this universe is also a point that builds another universe out there.

"That's how it is. Our universe may be just a dot that composes sand, gravel, or even water fleas. No one knows."

Maria still could not agree with the assumption of the girl before her.

"How could something like that possibly make sense."

Tyraell remained calm while replying to Maria's words.

"In the quantum world, reason doesn't apply." He clapped his hands once while smiling kindly. "Alright, enough about the theory. What I'm trying to say is, whoever brought the automatic doll, he certainly has the technology to break his body down into smaller sizes than the smallest quantum matter, then infiltrate our universe."

Judging from anywhere, it was impossible for such a terrifying technology to exist. But if Mary had positioned herself as a man in the century before the industrial revolution, she would have, he also would not believe the existence of sophisticated equipment such as a cruiser that can explore the solar system with a speed of approximately Mach 100.

"The good news is, given that we can see these automaton dolls with the naked eye, whoever they are, they are creatures from the sixth dimension, just like us."

Mary's daydream was torn apart by the words Tyraell spoke.

"Then, the bad news is, they have technology that far surpasses humanity and are going through an energy crisis. I assumed that their goal was to plunder natural resources. Taking into account the data converters I received, I'm sure they're after something we've been taking for granted."

Maria sighed after hearing his words. If the target is a trivial thing, it should not be too threatening to the survival of mankind.

"Then, as long as they don't decide to invade, we're still safe for now."

Tyraell suddenly returned a smile when he heard Maria's words. After chatting with her for a long time, she knew that the girl's smile always carried shocking news. So, Mary naturally prepared herself not to be surprised anymore.

"I said 'something we've taken for granted'. That is, something they take from us is actually a very important thing beyond any precious metal. We take it lightly because it is still very abundant. Since you've been researching the converter, you should know what I'm talking about here."

Mary fell back into her own mind. He recalled the converter that was found earlier. The device functions to convert the electronia into electricity with the help of water. Water, it's the only familiar compound here.

"Water. They're after water."

In response to Maria's statement, Tyraell smiled as kindly as before.

Note :

All of Tyraell's assumptions about Karen are 100% true. Isn't his brain and observation ability too OP? Well, this guy is the most genius original character I've ever made. There is no other original character that can rival the genius of Tyraell.

Regarding why he does not want to be called Cinderella, it is because he thinks it is not polite if a stranger immediately calls his first name. Not because he hates his own name. People nearby used to call him Cindy.

Are you confused about the 12-dimensional theory? No need to be memorized, however, will not be too effective to the story. But well, in my universe, the world does have 12 dimensions, exactly like what Cindy said.

But for those who want to know, I'll wind up here a little.

The Theory of the Parallel World

This theory states that there are other worlds that are identical and run parallel to our world. There, the rest of us are too. Based on the image above, E1 is Earth. Meanwhile, E2; E3; etc is another earth that runs parallel to the first earth (E1). The longer the world runs parallel, the more different the environment will be.

Not just the earth, but the entire universe.

The largest sphere is the Universe (Universe). In the Universe there is one Planet Earth (E). Well, this Universe is actually not just one, but infinite (Universe 1; Universe 2; Universe 3; etc.) and runs in parallel with the first universe (Universe 1).

Multiverse (Parallel Universe)

The universe in which the Earth (E) resides is also actually the smallest matter of the dimension above it (let's just say Universe B). The smallest matter is called Cael, the smallest quantum matter. Uniquely, this Cael is actually the universe. This is why the Universe A in addition to being in dimension 12 A, can also be called being in dimension 1 B. Between Universe A and Universe B, the two are completely different worlds and have no interrelations (no Earth in Universe B).

Still confused? Gini is.

Tyraell and his comrades were living beings in Universe A, whereas Karen was a living being in Universe B. Technically, Karen's body was of an unusually large size to the point that Universe A was only the smallest matter (Cael) for her. That is why Karen needs to shrink to an extraordinarily small size if she wants to set foot on Earth (which is in the A Universe).

Can Tyraell also go to Universe B? In theory it is very possible, namely by enlarging himself until it can penetrate the boundary of the Universe A.

Is Universe A also composed of Cael or another universe? Yep. There are other universes under the dimension of Universe A. Therefore, both the Parallel Universe and the Multiverse, both are infinitely numerous.

Still confused too? Horton Hears a Who? That's the elephant named Horton who brought 2 flowers and it turns out that in the dust stuck in the flower there is a world of small size. Well, the multiverse theory here is the same as in the film, only a little more complicated because the world is at quantum size.
