Crossing the World
XIII - Shelters (Karen)

Several days have passed since the events of Johan selling diamonds. I have bought a car and sent it to the shelter along with my smartphone and reckon. AI should be done replicating it now. So, I made a space jump towards the shelter to meet him.

"It's all done. Reckon and your smartphone are equipped with AI and various features in accordance with our mobile standards. The car you're carrying is also integrated with the same AI and all the outside is coated with primorial carbon, will not be destroyed even in the face of nuclear weapons."

Well, according to what I expected. AI always makes everything redundant.

"I understand" I replied, nodding my head. "What about virtual reality projects?"

"The polar change process has just been completed. It's just, there's a little problem that comes up."

"That's the matter?"

"really. Except for the human species, some animals and insects, as well as trees; there were no dangerous monsters there. The world seems peaceful and man will be able to repair that world naturally."

What's?!

The project itself was created to simulate the planet. Although I haven't found a real intelligent species, but the wild monsters have been confirmed. The fact that in the virtual world there are no monsters alone has made this project can be said to fail. Especially until there are insects, animals, and trees all!

"Why is it different than it should be?"

"The world is complex. Small differences can lead to extraordinary changes later in life. Since it was impossible to organize all the specific components, there was no other way but to let everything run naturally. As a result, many changes. Even all the inhabitants of the shelter died and the AI inside was also damaged. Now humans only live in the ruins of cities and depend on food left in the days before the genocide took place."

"Butterfly effect, huh?"

"I'm sorry?"

"Ah, no-no." I immediately denied my own muttering.  "Do you have a way to solve this?"

"I've thought of some plans. One of the most effective is to create a new world and unite it to bring out monsters."

"Heh~ what kind of idea is that?"

AI explained all the plans he had put together and the fact that he had already created an alternate world containing monsters and undead. Honestly, he's pretty terrible for the size of an AI.

The plan, AI will merge the two worlds and let the monsters invade the planet. It aims to make the planet's field more similar to my original world.

It was rather imposing to create a wide variety of monster shapes without any real reference. However, in terms of marketing - considering I intended to make it a game - I guess raising monsters would be excellent. Surely people prefer action simulation games rather than just planet recovery simulations alone.

"The thing is, the humans there are weak and few. They'll be out if the monsters come."

Hmm, if humans become extinct, my goal will also not be achieved. What good is a world filled only by monsters? Based on research from the internet, the people of earth do not really like games that only contain monsters.

Ah, considering they made me have an idea.

"How about we create a patron god and give aid through that god?"

"Hey what the fuck with that OP character?! Obviously humans will be wiped out if you don't do something to them!"

"Well, that's why I haven't done the merge yet. So, what do you mean by gods?"

"We call him Deus. Instead of magic, I prefer it if it is knowledge related to mechanics. Android, cyborg, and so on."

"Ah, you want to carry the theme of magic vs technology? Pretty interesting idea."

"No, no, I don't carry any theme. My idea is purely because I like technology instead of magic."

"It's still interesting. Monsters with magic fight humans with the help of technology."

If you say interesting, I agree. Maybe it will be a theme that will be much in demand by people. However, the purpose of this simulation was not just for war. I had to create boundaries that forced them to start building civilizations as well.

"Speed acceleration for the next thousand years. After a thousand years, normalize the acceleration and release a little monster for a month. Then, release one of the boss monsters into the world to add drama effects in it. I'll be Deus and kill him just as the humans fall into despair."

"It seems you want to have fun pretending to be a god, huh?"

"Whisper! Ah, also spread the ruins of the temple in several places that explain the existence of Deus and monsters. Just make it an interesting story, the rest is up to you."

"Understand."

AI explained that the acceleration process takes two days. So, I decided to go back to earth and visit all sorts of places. When it was time to return to the shelter, I made another space jump.

The story described by AI is quite interesting. He said that the world is now rebuilt and the level of human knowledge there is equivalent to the earth about 500 years ago. Of course not identical.

When the monster emergence process arrives, various kingdoms begin to unite forces. However, magic monsters were truly something that was impossible for humans to face. In just a week, two kingdoms had already disappeared from the map.

The monster boss finally appeared at the end of the event. The design is similar to that of a giant dragon that can spout fire from its mouth. It was not wrong if he was called the boss monster.

"I think it's time to dive in and save the people. If it's left too long, I'm afraid humans will be extinct."

"I've prepared an avatar for Deus' character. All of his stats were 900% higher than the raiding boss of the raging Ancient Dragon King. You'll win easily."

"Ohh! I'm like a cheater! No, no, it's more like someone playing the mod version."

"To be honest, your words have varied since your visit to Earth."

Let's forget the AI comments about my words. Now, it's time to have some fun.

I walked towards a capsule that was already provided. As I got into it and lay down comfortably, the capsule began to close. My gaze suddenly dimmed and various strange sensations were felt in every part of my body. It was like falling from a height.

Hm, I haven't dive into the virtual world in a long time. I hope I don't forget how to move my body. It would be a problem if I suddenly couldn't move.
