Crossing the World

Crossing the World
XXV - Earth (Karen)

Just like always, my house was not visited by anyone. Other than my family - I am personally confused as to whether cyborgs and I can be called family or not - rarely socialize, she said, all home lights are now automatically turned on at night and turned off during the day. So, no one would suspect this house.

At least that's what I think.

My schedule today is to buy various kinds of fertilizers and food stocks that I will send to the shelter along with 2 cubic kilometers of seawater. Of course this time I will take Johan with me and wear carbon primorial clothing as a precaution.

I usually go with Johan while I walk around. The goal is to trick the police and give the impression that Johan is driving. But this time it was different. I'll be more careful and put Johan on standby. We won't know when and where a life-threatening incident will happen again.

The types of fertilizers I bought before were items that contained chemicals. Therefore, this time I decided to buy various types of compost and some pest repellent products.

Hold still. Why do I buy pest repellent products? On my planet there are not even pests. Let's leave the pest repellent products for later.

While on the road, I surfed the internet as usual. Then, an article caught my attention.

"So, worms are good for bulging the soil." I nodded a few times.

If I bring worms to the shelter, will the soil on my planet be fertile? It seems worth a try.

The fertilizer I bought was a fermented product from various animal and plant impurities. Each fertilizer is distinguished based on the way it is made. It started with aerobic fertilizer, bokashi, liquid organic fertilizer, and most of all, vermicompost fertilizer.

Unlike other types of compost fertilizers that are decomposed by microorganisms, vermicompost itself uses macroorganisms. What macroorganisms are used? The worm! Yes, this type of fertilizer uses worms to decompose crop residue and livestock manure. In other words, in this fertilizer there are a lot of worms. Let's take them to the shelter to research and develop a culture. If it manages to survive on land, let's spread it across the planet's surface.

Besides fertilizer, I also visited the rice fields and sent the abandoned hay to the shelter. Of course I brought him not just playful, but because of the edible mushrooms growing on the straw. I'll ask the AI to cultivate and spread it on land when the mushrooms successfully adapt.

The next goal is to buy groceries for stock at the shelter.

Rather than buying it at the supermarket, I prefer to buy it at a regular grocery store. In addition to the relatively cheaper price - because it is not sold in unit-form, they are also responsible for sending the goods home. So, I won't be troubled.

Actually I could have just sent him to the shelter. However, the possibility of my ability to teleport is known to people is quite high. Therefore, I prefer to send it to the shelter when the items I bought are at home.

I bought canned fizzy drinks, some canned fish, instant noodles, coffee and tea products, snacks, and equipment related to daily needs. This much stock would probably last for two months without me having to return to earth.

At night after all the items I needed were collected, I teleported to the shelter and handed them over to the AI. Not long after, several mecha took the items for research and cultivation. Of course the stock I bought would not be cultivated like worms in fertilizer and mushrooms.

Right after I teleported for the second time and brought seawater with me, the AI suddenly delivered an important news.

"Regarding the virtual world, the acceleration of time has long been slowed to one to one. However, it seems like human civilization will not last long if you do not immediately enter the next phase."

The phase he was referring to was the involvement of the earthlings in the face of the monsters.

As monster invasions begin to escalate and the majority of the population of human civilization is too afraid to deal with them, their only hope is to rely on the robots that keep the city order. Unfortunately the invading monsters have become increasingly powerful lately. It's true that AI can raise the specs of those robots, but doing so is tantamount to hampering the simulation I'm running.

Once again, let's focus on developing the first vr game on earth.

"All right, I'll start taking care of it." I answered the AI report.

Hearing the positive response from me, AI expressed her opinion.

"Looking at how massive the virtual world is, you need at least a quantum-based supercomputer unit and an AI Program to control and sustain the world. I recommend building this facility underground on an uninhabited island."

As always, the idea given by AI sounds pretty good.

Supercomputers are at least the same size as my home on earth. If I were to build such a facility on the mainland, people would definitely start to notice and be curious. So, the only way is to build the facility underground. Unfortunately, it was impossible to dig the ground without causing a commotion. This is why building facilities under an uninhabited island is the most brilliant idea.

"How about we make our own island here and send it to earth?"

Let's make this more interesting!

"You mean, we're building a submarine where the surface is covered by the ground?"

"Yes! A mysterious island that looks simple, but is actually a submarine containing a quantum supercomputer that can move in the sea."

Isn't that cool? I always dreamed of making something extraordinary in the future. Maybe now is the time for me to realize my wild dreams.

"Making all of that is not good. Plants can also be cultivated without hindrance. However, you have to add the animals manually."

Hearing such an answer, I naturally smiled and replied to his words excitedly.

"No problem! Adding animals is easy!"

I thought everything was going to go well. Unfortunately, the AI suddenly dropped another bomb.

"The problem now is that a portable teleporter isn't capable enough to send a single artificial island to earth."

Ah, dammit! You should have said it from the beginning! Is ruining people's expectations already your hobby?!

Well, let's hold the emotion for now.

"What if it's not a portable teleporter? Just plant a teleporter in that facility and let me use it."

AI did not reply to my words immediately. He's probably weighing my idea based on the database he owns. Then, after about a minute of silence, he finally spoke.

"It looks like it can be done. However, moving it directly into the sea would cause a huge wave. So, let's add anti-gravity and lower it slowly to the sea."

Well, I guess if an island suddenly appeared in the middle of the sea, the waves generated could potentially become a tsunami. It is good to lower it slowly instead of directly dropping it just like that.

"All right, I'll leave the island to you."

"Understand."

After finishing the conversation, I again teleported to earth and slept in my comfortable room.

The next day I intended to laze around a little and wake up a little later. However, when the clock struck nine in the morning, a foreign signal stung my head again. Most likely the people who stole the T-13 have turned on the transmitter again.

All right then, let's serve them while lazing on the bed.

Note :

For those who are curious what this story is inspired by, I will call it. The story is inspired by one of FUNA's works titled rougo ni sonaete isekai de 8 manmai no kinka o tamemasu. The story is pretty much the same (about MCs who can teleport), but it has a slight difference. Karen is a person from another world who teleports to earth and has technology that is far beyond earth humans while Mitsuha is a person from earth (with all the latest technology) who teleports to another world set medieval (swords and arrows).
