Conquering your Love

Conquering your Love
EP 4

As soon as they got to the man's car, the elegant white S-type Jaguar car, Hans helps Lana to put her suitcase into the trunk - despite allowing the girl to open the door herself to get into the car. It is not surprising for a Hans Alexander to drive a car as luxurious as this, because Hans and Sasha have been born rich even though they are now richer. Their late father bequeathed them abundant treasures. But Hans was not like Sasha who felt quite satisfied with their inheritance. Hans wanted to hone his skills so that he refused to use any part of his legacy and worked so hard that he was able to have what he is currently earning.

It was one of the many things Lana admired about the man. But the admiration did not last long as Hans threw a speech without hesitation at this girl.

"How's your girlfriend doing?" hans said as he drove his car towards the highway.

"I have no lover." said Lana while trying to wipe the sweat even though the air at the top was cooler than in the capital.

"don't have? But you want to have one, don't you?" Hans adjusted the rearview mirror position when stopping at a red light.

"He's my boss. That's it."

"Dearly enough. You were barely able to take your gaze away from her the other day when I stopped by your office."

"He's handsome" Lana said with deliberate pressure. Lana tries not to stare at Hans when he stops by his office the other day, so he tries to stare at his boss who is none other than Ryan. "Just you know what's really going on." Lana.

Hans's eyebrows shot up. "Just the looks of it won't make it a success" he told Lana.

"Ah, yes. You must know it's because you've worked half your life." Lana replied with no defeat.

"Not until half, I'm only 33 years old."

"It stinks of the ground..."

Hans glanced at Lana. "I guess you're 25, right? and never been engaged?"

Hans knew that would hurt. Lana turned her gaze towards the car window. Until a few months ago, Lana was overweight by about 25 kilograms and was not very concerned about how to dress or make up. Even now, he still did not know how to dress appropriately. Lana still hid her body behind large and loose clothes so that her already good body was still covered. Lana folded her hands to her chest with a defensive stance.

"I can't face this. Three days of being around you could end up in therapy all my life" Lana said, gritting her teeth.

It turned out that Hans was smiling at the words of the girl sitting next to him." It was precious enough to hold yourself with you for three days."

Lana crossed her legs behind her long skirt and concentrated on the streets. "Sasha promised she would pick me up," he muttered, repeating his own words.

"He said you'd be so happy if I picked you up." Hans said with a piercing look. "You still like me, don't you?" ask her with a cynical tone.

Lana gawking. "Sasha lied! I didn't say I'd be happy if you picked me up." he exclaimed furiously.

"I only came because he promised to pick me up. I was gonna rent a car and drive."

Hans' gray eyes narrowed at Lana's reddened face. "That's called suicide" he murmured. "Or murder, depending on where you look."

"I can drive." elak Lana.

"You?" Hans chuckled slightly as he drove his car faster past the other car that was moving slower. The latest Jaguar car is growling like a big cat as the name implies. Lana glanced at the man and saw pure excitement over his car's ability when his car could slip quickly between other slow cars. Hans had always loved luxury and fast cars, and according to gossip, women were sophisticated and beautiful.  But that side of his life that man always hid from Lana. It was as if Hans was putting it all the way for good and intended to keep it there.

"At least I didn't embarrass the other driver by darting past him at the speed of a fighter jet!" lana was angry. Lana was indeed talking bouncy, and it happened for only ten minutes with the man. With a boiling heart, Lana turned again towards the window so there was no need to look at Hans.

"I didn't dart. I'm still obeying the speed limit" Hans replied.

Hans glanced at the speedometer, smiled slightly and slowed down the speed of the car. He glanced at Lana with curiosity.

"You look so much thinner, I barely recognized you when I stopped by Ryan the other day."

"Right, I looked different when I was fat."

Lana glanced at him. " I'm so fat. And men prefer to caress the thin body of a woman. Yeah, right?"

"You used to lack confidence. Still is now. There's nothing wrong with you except that sharp tongue of yours." Hans added

"See who's complaining."

"If I don't scream, nobody listens" Hans said.

"You don't need to yell," Lana corrected. "You just have to look at other people. It's just that and people are gonna run around."

"I trained long enough in my bathroom mirror." Hans smiled proudly.

Lana who listened to Hans proud speech, did not believe it and rolled her eyes lazily.

"You have to think about Halloween costumes" Hans muttered as he turned his car around.

"For what? Are you gonna hire me for parties?" grouse Lana.

"For next month's Halloween party. Sasha has invited dozens of people to come and wear stupid masks or costumes." said Hans with hidden disgust.

"What are you going to appear as?" ask Lana curiously.

Hans looked at Lana with an unconcerned look. " I'll come as a successful CEO."

"Well, I can't argue with that" said Lana lazily.

Lana decides to keep quiet and enjoy a smooth ride in a luxurious car that she never enjoyed. Lana is also remembered for her parents who died from drowning on the beach when they decided to take a thin vacation. A supposedly fun vacation ends tragically when a big wave suddenly comes along and drags down her parents. His parents did not see any red flags planted around the beach warning of dangerous tidal waves that could drown even experienced swimmers. Lana still remembered how frightening the incident that happened so quickly was. An event that left a trauma within him.

Hans who got the news immediately rushed to come and help clear things up and bring Lana. Strange, how many tragedies and crises Hans saw Lana go through during those years.

"Your mother is a gentle woman. Your father was also a good man who loved his family. Aki was concerned that you lost their figure at such a young age" Hans suddenly broke the silence.

Lana is shocked when Hans can figure out what he is thinking in silence. Eight years have passed and Lana often tries to remember the fun events with her parents. However, the incident is unfolding and leaves a deep wound for Lana. Lana also has no one to share her suffering with. Because when he was with Sasha, his only friend, he would listen to Sasha more often than talk. Because Sasha Alexander is a cheerful, spoiled and very domineering person. But at this time, if Lana remembered her parents, she would just pray in the room and cry alone.

"Well yeah, you don't look like any of them. No man in his right mind would call you soft" Hans said scathingly.

"Stop this moment, Hans. I can say a lot about you too."

"What's? That I am charming, intelligent, handsome and the embodiment of a virgin's prayer?" Hans sneered and glanced at Lana as he veered down the road which was the direction to the estate.

"That raises another question. Have you slept with your empty-brained boss?" hans asked in a dislike tone.

" He's not empty-brained and I don't have to tell you if I've slept with him or another man."

lana sewot.

"He likes to eat tofu and quiche, he drives a red convertible that wasn't clear years of manufacture, he likes to play tennis, and doesn't know how to program his computer without having to destroy his system."

Knowledge is too detailed if it comes from a short note. Lana's eyes narrowed. "You checked all the backgrounds!" accuse Lana with confidence.

Hans just smiled and it was not a pleasant smile.
