Lana usually goes to lunch at half-twelfth noon and Hans knows that. But the man arrived late the following Wednesday. Lana was already nibbling on her long nails when the man appeared. Lana was in the lobby where she met clients, along with some of her coworkers who were just about to go to lunch. Hans approached, looking a bit messy due to the wind and the look of an annoyed face.

"I can't go to lunch. Ii'm sorry. There's a sudden problem." he explained for a moment.

"It's okay. Next time." said Lana, trying not to show her disappointment.

"I'm going out of town for two days." continued Hans without lowering his tone, "But don't forget my birthday party on Saturday. Call me from the terminal and I'll pick you up. If I hadn't come home by then, Sasha would have picked you up. Okay?"

How amazing it sounded when Hans said those words, as if the man really wanted Lana to come. But Lana knew the man was just playing a show in front of the other employees who were stealing his words.

"alright. Goodbye and see you on Saturday" Lana agreed.

Hans reached out his hand and touched Lana's cheek gently.

"Goodbye" he said with a smile. Hans moved slowly away, reluctant to leave Lana. Meanwhile Lana stared at Hans departure with the same reluctance. There were smiling faces all around them. Succeeds. People believed that they were lovers, exactly as Hans wanted them to be. In the eyes of the women, Hans became the most romantic and desirable figure of all people.

Later, while Ryan was signing the papers that the man had just pressed, Lana wondered to herself where Hans was going so it took quite a long time. Lana knows that being a CEO, Hans must have been a real hassle, but in her little heart, Lana thinks that Hans is going to see Joy?

"Looks like you're daydreaming? Does anything make you anxious?" ryan asked curiously.

"Nothing, really. I'm just thinking about Hans' birthday on Saturday." said Lana lying.

Ryan nodded as he signed the last letter. "It must be fun to have a party. I've stopped celebrating my own birthday for a long time." Ryan murmured.

"Thalia could've had a party for you." Lana suggested.

Ryan grimaced. "He's not a sentimental type at all. He was very serious and it seemed like he never stopped working. Even he's going out of town this week, trying to get new clients."

"I'm sure you'll miss him." said Lana.

Ryan just put his shoulders down. "I'm trying." His face then blushed. "Sorry, those words just popped out."

Lana smile. "We all have problems, Ryan."

"Yes, I noticed how Hans treated you. He almost never touches you, unless he thinks someone is watching. He must be a cold man."

Lana's face flushed red, recalling Hans' fickle attitude. Sometimes Hans can be so passionate and sometimes Hans can be the coldest and Lana feels unable to reach the man.

Ryan cleared his throat and changed the subject. It was really timely because Lana also became uncomfortable. Her heart was sad to remember Hans words when that night at the party at the estate. Status. Their status is like heaven and earth, inner Lana reminds herself.

Lana was busy doing household chores in her apartment on Saturday morning when her phone rang.

"Lana?" greet gentle Sasha.

"Yes. How are you, Sha?" lana asked, though not in the usual friendly and cheerful tone.

"I'm not angry." cut Lana.

Audible ******* length. "I thought Joy would help me show my plans to the company where she works. But it turns out that never happened. He just pretended to be my friend in order to get close to Hans. I think you know she's upset that Hans looks with you?" sasha admitted sadly.

"He doesn't need to be jealous. You can tell him that, in my name. Is that all you want to say?" suhut Lana cold.

"Lana, that's not why I called!" exclaim Sasha. He hesitated. "Hans asked me to call you and make sure you'd come to his birthday party."

"That's absolutely impossible." Lana said firmly.

"But he expects you to come." said Sasha stammered. "Said you promised you'd come, but I had to call you and make sure you'd come."

"Joy must be invited?" ask Lana.

"Well. well yeah, I think Hans wanted him to come so I invited him too."

"I thought I was invited to make Joy jealous even if I didn't deserve to be her rival. She's too sophisticated to be my rival." Lana said with a small chuckle.

Silence spreads. "Lana, what's the matter? You didn't pick up my phone. You won't have lunch with me and you won't return my messages. If you're not mad at me, then what's up?"

Lana looked down at the floor. The floor must be dipel, the inner Lana daydreams.

"Hans told you that he's sick of seeing me every time he comes back to the farm, and you're especially asked not to invite me to his birthday party."

There was a deafening silence at the end there for a few seconds. "Yes God. You heard what he said that night!" erang Sasha's.

"I heard every word, Sha." explained Lana with a stiff tone. "I think I'm still crazy about him, and it disgusts him. He said I'm not cut out for your social sphere and you should be friends with people from your own circles." Lana took a deep breath to calm herself down.

"Maybe he's right, Sha. You two took care of me when I had no one, but I took advantage of the situation all along, making me believe that you were my family. I am so grateful that Hans opened my eyes. I'm an idiot."

"Lana, he didn't mean it and I knew it!Sometimes he said certain things without thinking. I know he won't hurt you on purpose."

"He didn't know I had heard all his words. I drink too much and act like an idiot. We both know how Hans feels about drunk women. But now I'm conscious. I will no longer force you to be friendly." - Lana.

"But Hans wants you to come!" refute Sasha. "He said so himself!"

"He didn't say that, Sha. You don't understand what's going on, but I'm helping Hans investigate something in the office. Don't tell me you know about it. There is no personal relationship between us. There can't be. I'm not the kind of woman he likes and we both know that."

Sasha took a deep breath so Lana could hear how frustrated she was. "What am I supposed to tell him when you don't show up?"

"You don't have to say anything. He did not expect my presence. It's all just a charade. One day he'll tell you himself. Now I have to hang up. I was cooking something in the kitchen and it was a charlatan." said Lana, obviously lying.

"We can have lunch together next week." Sasha asked.

"can't. You need to find a suitable friend from your own circle, Sha. I'm not part of your family and you don't owe me anything. Bye!"

Lana disconnects and turns off her phone just in case Sasha finds out she's still trying to call her again. He felt nauseous. But breaking ties with Sasha was the right course of action. Once Hans finished cooperating with her, the man would definitely leave her. Lana is going out of Hans and Sasha's life. Now this was the only sensible way to forget his feelings for Hans.
