The phone on Lana's desk rang early the next morning and she answered it while typing.

"Do you still like jazz concerts?" a voice in a deep tone

Hans! Lana's fingers slipped over the keyboard so she made some mistakes. "Eh, yeah."

"There's a special Java Jazz performance tomorrow night. Tickets are limited to the upper class" Hans said.

"I read it in the entertainment column in the newspaper. I'd love to watch it" Lana said.

Hans chuckles. "I knew. I have two tickets. I'll pick you up at seven tomorrow. Did you have dinner by then?" her question, which implies that Hans will only invite her to a concert, not a dinner.

"Of course." said Lana firmly.

"I have to work till night, otherwise I'll take you to dinner." Hans explained gently.

"No problem, I have leftovers to spend. I don't like throwing food away" Lana said.

"Oh, I'll see you tomorrow at seven."

"Yes, seven." Lana hung up. His hands were ice cold and trembling. He felt his entire body shake. Hans's gonna take her to a concert. His mind immediately floated into his wardrobe. She only had one nice black dress but she had worn it to a party at the estate. A confused Lana has to put on what, instantly opens her computer and sees an idea for an evening dress.

It turned out that she was able to blend her dress with a special winter coat and a small pearl necklace that Sasha and Hans gave as a gift when she graduated from college. He will also curl his hair. It won't look too bad, inner Lana.

She feels like a teenage girl on her first date until she realizes the real reason they went together. Hans had not just found his true love. The man was having a show. But why did he also enter a concert?

The answer came unexpectedly. Ryan stopped by his booth a few minutes after Hans called. Ryan looks a little nervous.

"Is there a problem?" ask Lana.

Ryan took a deep breath. "About next Saturday." he began to explain.

"I can't go " said Lana.

Ryan's relief was obvious. "I'm glad you said that" he said, his relief suffocating. " Thalia's coming home and she's gonna miss her day with him."

"Hans will be hosting his birthday party that day." replied Lana, very much aware that he would not be invited, although Hans certainly wanted Lana's co-workers to think he was invited.

"Very long." Lana acknowledges. In fact he just called to invite me to a Java Jazz concert...."

"Java Jazz?" exclaim Ryan.

"Well, yeah...?"

"We'll meet there. Thalia and I will be there too. Isn't that a coincidence?"

Lana laughed, and so did Ryan. "I don't believe this! I didn't even know you liked Jazz!"

Ryan grimaced. "Actually I don't like it, but Thalia likes it." she was forced to admit.

Lana smiled mischievously. "I don't think Hans likes it, either, but he'll pretend to like it."

Ryan smiled back. "I'm sorry, but you don't seem to be his type. I used to see her with beautiful, sexy women." she said softly, while her face was a little flushed from feeling she shouldn't have said this to Lana. He shouldn't interfere with the affairs of Lana and her boss, Hans.

Lana laughed out loud. "I know that. He's not that bad. We've known him for a long time. You could say he was the one who helped me when my parents died. I understand, my position." said Lana knew for herself.

"About next Saturday, Ryan, however I'm still canceling our show. But it doesn't feel right, I don't feel good about you."

"No, it doesn't. You and I are both old-fashioned, Lana. We're both uncomfortable breaking boundaries. I'll bet you never got ticketed for breaking the rules."

Lana laughed again. " How can I drive a car if I never learn?" lana's laughter erupted in the small room.

"I saw our boss' car, Hans. He has a lot of super-luxury cars" Ryan said.

"Yes, I've never thought about how rich he is. Because he was just plain dressed during meeting me. I was also good friends with the only sister he had" Lana said.

"Maybe I'm just a stupid, naive person who never sees people from his property." added Lana a little sad because she was aware of his social status far below Hans.

Ryan noticed Lana's changed face, so he felt uncomfortable. " Then I'll see you tomorrow night."

They exchanged smiles and Ryan went to his office. While Lana turns her attention back to the computer, getting curious about the coincidence.

Did Hans know that Ryan and Thalia were going to the same concert? Or is it just one of those things that can't be explained? Then another idea came to Lana's mind. What if Hans accidentally skirts with Lana because he suspects Ryan or his girlfriend as one of the people circulating narcotics in the office?
