Chapter 4 The Sweet Start

Afternoon.

Ethan and Ainsley came out of the room with equally wet hair. Ethan's parents' house is very large and it consists of Ethan's parents and two younger sisters. Ethan's two younger brothers are older than Ainsley and their job is also very good, namely a lawyer and one is a model.

Ethan's parents did educate their children well to have a good job, even their marriage problems have been warning to get a matching partner.

Mom and Dad are chatting in the living room, they see Ethan and Ainsley walking towards them. Mom stood up and said goodbye to the kitchen, and I just stared at Ethan without looking at Ainsley.

"The Stella family said that you called off the engagement? Is that true?" ask Dad.

"That's slander, I never called off the engagement. Is his family here? Stella says they're gonna return my application, '" Ethan asked.

Dad shook his head. "Not yet."

Ainsley was just sitting next to Ethan, he looked down feeling bad for suddenly getting married to

his son. Dad looks at Ainsley, he is quite disappointed with Ethan's choice because he will drop Ethan himself in front of the Stella family.

"Your parents are dead?" ask Ainsley.

Ainsley stared at him. "Yes, my parents are dead and my brother just died a week."

"So you here have no relatives?"

Ainsley nodded, his father-in-law's gaze was very unclothed at all. Ethan clasped his hand.

"I hope you treat Ainsley well. Ainsley though has limitations but he is a child teacher in SLB and he also often fills out events as a motivator. I don't want you to hurt Ainsley because she's my choice" Ethan explains.

Dad was silent because he knew Ethan was a disorganized man, Ainsley got up from the seat to make drinks for her husband, he walked into the kitchen and saw his mother-in-law there as well.

"Mom, is there coffee? Ethan's doctor wants to make coffee" Ainsley said.

"Let me make it, you better sweep this terrace already in the afternoon" replied the mother.

Ainsley shook her head. "Mother, Doctor Ethan asked me to make him coffee instead of sweeping."

"You want to argue with your mother-in-law's words? Coffee let me just make it, you just sweep the yard. Get used to it if the afternoon sweeps and don't be lazy!"

"Republica..." There was a yawning sound that turned out to be his second son who was a lawyer. "Mom, I'm hungry."

"Sit down, what do you want to eat, baby?"

Ainsley was still standing in front of them, her sister-in-law named Elina immediately looked at him sharply. "What look-look?"

Ainsley shook her head. Ainsley then came out of the kitchen and headed to the yard, he looked for a broom and swept away the fallen leaves. She does lack knowledge of marriage but said her brother was married when she had to serve her husband well. The leaves one by one collected after flanking more than 15 minutes ago shortly after his other brother-in-law came and immediately kicked the leaves so scattered again.

"Why did you kick?" ask Ainsley.

"Another clean sweep!" answer Sonia while sticking out her tongue.

Ainsley just kept quiet, he did not want to take a headache and decided to collect the leaves into the trash. Ethan's family lives in elite housing and there is rarely any interaction with neighbors around.

Ethan comes out of the house, he is shocked because Ainsley was sweeping when there was a maid.

"Ains, what are you doing? Who told you to sweep?" ask Ethan.

"Mother told me," Ainsley answered honestly.

Ethan pulls Ainsley into his house to see Mom, Ethan doesn't like it if Ainsley is treated like this with them. All his family members gathered in the family room while telling stories to and fro.

"Why really? Isn't it indeed the duty of women especially she is a new person who must take our hearts first if you want to be blessed," replied Mother.

"So big brother, sweeping it is natural, if told to drain the new well sister can protest," said Elina.

Ainsley was silent and speechless because in her mind she was not wrong to tell her husband the truth.

"Do you know what a maid is doing in this house? I know you don't like Ainsley yet but don't treat my wife like a maid" Ethan replied.

"Ethan, if you don't accept your wife being told this and that, you can stay somewhere else. Trouble sweeps away until you're like this, you've changed Ethan" Dad said.

Ethan knew enough that they had been subtly evicted since yesterday as they treated Ainsley. Ethan doesn't want Ainsley to feel burdened living here and he is determined to move out immediately and find a temporary boarding place.

"Okay, we're moving out tomorrow. Because it's late in the evening we'll stay overnight again" Ethan said.

"Ethan, I didn't mean it that way, '" I replied in shock at Ethan's response.

Ethan pulled Ainsley's hand into the room, the intimate part of Ainsley still feels pain because the first day was very shocking and traumatized especially he had just done it for the first time. After entering the room, they sat next to each other on the bed.

"I'm sorry for them? Maybe they're just surprised because the daughter-in-law suddenly changed" Ethan said.

"Doctors don't have to be that way with them. I have no problem doing homework" replied Ainsley.

"I just don't want you to get tired of being able to get your brother to haunt me."

Ainsley smiled slightly, he hugged Ethan from the side. The sense of loss of his brother has begun to decrease because there is Ethan as his successor.

"I'll find a temporary boarding place for us while waiting for my house to be completed in the renovation" said Dr. Ethan.

Ainsley nodded and they looked at each other face to face, Ainsley's eyes were so warm to see that even her tiny lips could divert the world of Dirgam that was falling apart because of his former lover.

"Doctor..."

"Why do you still call me doctor?"

"You're a doctor and what should I call you?"

Ethan thinks for a moment, his ex-girlfriend called him affectionately and it seems Ethan is now anti-so with that call.

"Call me. It's okay. I'm also older than you and we're over 10 years old" Ethan replied.

"Well, Ethan, '" said Ainsley, smiling.

Ethan's phone ringing that turns out to be from Stella, he just let it go because it hurt him. Ainsley saw the name of the woman's contact and was instantly jealous.

"Why is her name still Stella Darling? I'm envious" Ainsley said with a frown.

Ethan quickly changes the name of Stella's contact and also changes the name of Ainsley's contact to Ainsley's Dear Forever.

"I've changed it" said Ethan.

"Promise forever?" ainsley asked as she thrust her little finger like a child.

Ethan nodded, he also linked his fingers to Ainsley's.

"Promise," he answered.
