It only took a week, Purbo was really healthy and allowed to go home. Lik Kani welcomed his nephew with joy. He asked the neighbors to prepare cooking for 'pasture' as a form of gratitude for the healing of the child alone puppet Bu Sudarsih.
Tumpeng, buceng, vegetable anrap, chicken lodho seasoning, jenang brother, polo kependhem and a variety of other foods processed that afternoon. Purbo gets off the shiny white SUV, with a deft driver opening the door.
"Thank you Sir. Actually, Njenengan does not need to serve me up like this," said Purbo.
"This is Non Early Mas's order. As an apology for not being able to bring me home. Non Dini is busy preparing for her wedding with Mas Purbo," replied Mr. Driver while bowing.
"Thank you, sir, then" replied Purbo.
"I'm sorry, Buk. Monggo," The driver said goodbye.
The neighbors who saw the arrival of Purbo and Bu Sudarsih delivered a new car, began to whisper to each other. It has become a habit, when seeing others using luxury goods the neighbors will gossip it. There are some people who whisper and say that Sudarsih sacrificed his handsome son to get a rich daughter-in-law. Also, Purbo is ill because he gets interference from his wealthy future father-in-law. Speculation of wild speculation was rife in the mother's association.
Lik Kani was moved to welcome Purbo. He hugged his nephew tightly. Lik Kani averted her eyes, looking at the happily smiling Bu Sudarsih. That Yu ma'am looks old. Whitened hair with wrinkles on his forehead.
"Thank God, Ms. Yu, your son is healthy" said Lik Kani.
"Lik, when will you please take me to Mbah Yon's house yes" Purbo said, taking off Lik Kani's embrace. Bu Sudarsih and Lik Kani exchanged glances. They are equally curious, why Purbo wants to go to Mbah Yon's house? In the end Lik Kani nodded in agreement.
Evening arrived, along with orange sky and some black bird chirping at the top of the electric pole. Neighbors gathered at the house of Ms Sudarsih. Ambeng, tumpeng, buceng and some kinds of food have been arranged in the living room. Bu Sudarsih held a small thanks for the recovery of his son.
...****************...
Time passes quickly. Purbo and Dini's wedding is just counting the days. But as if not learned from past events, Purbo traveled ahead of his wedding day. The difference this time is that he is not alone.
Purbo joined Lik Kani, arriving at a house in the middle of the moor. Joglo house that looks unkempt. The front yard is full of weeds and thorny shrubs.
"Not maintained yes. Has Mbah Yon never returned to this house again?" ask Lik Kani wonder.
Purbo sighed. He knew very well why the house was unkempt. Mbah Yon never came home because he sacrificed himself for Purbo's healing. And Lik Kani is also someone else no one knows about it all. Purbo kept secret meetings and the reality that befell Mbah Yon.
"But this is Mbah Yon's house. If you want to thank him for helping you, we come back here another day" said Lik Kani.
Purbo did not answer. His mind was far away. Recalling what Mbah Yon said that night. All the spells are written in books, stored in Mbah Yon's house.
Without saying hello or excuse me, Purbo immediately pushed the door of the house full of dust. The sound of dry, rusty hinges is deafening. Lik Kani was surprised to see the behavior of his nephew who arrived to open the door of Mbah Yon's house.
"Hey, fuck you! What if we think about the thief?" hardik Lik Kani with bulging eyes.
Purbo didn't bully him. He walked over to the closet in the corner of the room. The old keris is in the closet. The Mbah Yon thing looks clean and shiny even though the outside of the closet is full of thick dust.
A little rough, Purbo instantly pulled on the doorknob of the closet. The smell of cantile and jasmine blossoms in the air.
"Hey hey, reckless you are Pur!" snapped Lik Kani panicked.
"Do you want to help keris?" Lik Kani glares. Purbo. He even lifted the box object in the closet wrapped in purple velvet cloth.
"Let's go home, Lik. My purpose here is to take this thing, " Purbo said with a smile.
"Well, what is that? You're being weird?" Lik Kani looks confused.
"Wes to Lik, Njenengan manut only. I'm not misty. Mbah Yon himself asked me to take this thing," Purbo patted Lik Kani's shoulder.
"What is Pur?" ask Lik Kani again.
"Book," answered Purbo briefly. He stepped foot out of the house.
Arriving at the front porch, Purbo and Lik Kani are startled by the arrival of an old man with udheng on his head. Similar to Mbah Yon. The old man stared cynically at Purbo.
"Who's Kung from? Mbah Yon is not at home," said Purbo kalem.
"has known. I'm gonna go get that keris I left here a few weeks ago. Again need to," replied the old man.
The old man was about to enter the house but was blocked by Lik Kani.
"Surge you!" snapped old man.
"Lha continues, what's the difference between me and you? You also come into the house when the person is not there!" The old man spoke in a high tone. Like being angry.
"Our brother Mbah Yon. Back here again if Mbah Yon has come home," Lik Kani will not budge. Purbo silently watched.
"Waiting for Yono to come home to know that it turns into soybeans will also not go home!" The old man was bluffing, his voice was loud and thunderous. Makes the guts of Lik Kani shrink.
"My name is Kadir. Me and Yono Iku mbeguru's friend. If you claim to be his brother, then I am closer than a brother, my relationship with him is thicker than blood. Me and Yono were raised by the same person. At the same place," the old grandfather named Mbah Kadir snapped Lik Kani. In the end Lik Kani shuffled aside from the door of the house.
"Don't you think I don't know what happened to Yono bin Sukro!" Mbah Kadir turned to look at Purbo full of anger and hatred. Then he went into the house.
"Pur, what does that mean?" tanya Lik Kani whispered in Purbo's ear.
"Don't think about Lik. Come home," take Purbo to relax. Lik Kani could only scratch his head.
...****************...
In the afternoon, Purbo was reading the Mbah Yon relic on the front porch of his house, when the sound of a motorcycle pulled over. A young man got off the bike wearing a famous campus alma mater suit in the city area. A familiar face to Purbo.
"Hasan right?" Purbo smiled softly.
"Mas Purbo remember?" Hasan was a little surprised. Purbo just smiled.
Hasan is welcome to enter the house. Bu Sudarsih prepares warm drinks because the weather is freezing.
"What do you need to do here? Is it possible that you were curious about my situation after coming out of the foggy village?" ask Purbo.
"Well that's also Mas. Besides that I'm actually confused. Not knowing where else to ask if not to Njengan," Hasan looks confused.
"What's wrong? Tell me, " said Purbo.
Hasan sipped a warm drink, then began his story. By Mak Nah from the village of Ebuh reaps problems. Sani was possessed after eating a banana given by Mak Nah. Process his behavior like an ape swinging on a tree branch. Later, Sani was hospitalized in a state of unconsciousness.
Asrophy as the head of exploration felt guilty. His final class was a mess, and now he looks depressed. Hasan told me all about it with glassy eyes.
"Perhaps if by the Mak Nah, you who eat will not be a problem San. Because basically 'they' gave it to you, to you, not to your friend. Each place has its own rules. And indeed we should respect that," Purbo sighed.
"Then how did you? Is there no way to save Sani?" Hasan seemed to be crying.
"When Sani's possessed acted like an ape?" Purbo asked to make sure. Hasan nodded confidently.
Purbo then remembered his last night in the village of Ebuh. As he walked through the settlement and saw an ape in a cage that looked sad.
"I might know where your friend is" Purbo said, looking up at the sky in the living room.
"Can't we help him?" asked Hasan.
Purbo was silent in his daydream. His ears suddenly ringed. Sayup yells a voice. The voice of the old woman Purbo knew. The voice from Mak Nah said the same sentence as during their last meeting.
"The general should not be confused, there is always a way to get back here. There's always a reason to meet with us."
A voice that ended with a neighing laughter.
