Dug dug dug

Sayup sayup sound of knocking. The voice that was originally heard in the distance. The wind was blowing slowly, blowing a freezing cold that made the teeth crackle together.

Dug dug dug

Again, the sound of the knocking was getting closer. Along with other humble voices. There was a neighing laughter, it also sounded as if someone was crying. All the sounds that were not clear of origin were spinning around in Purbo's eardrum.

"Banguunn!"

A deafening shout, along with a gust of strong wind that exposed the thick blanket on both feet of the Purbo.

"Hhhhhhh!" Purbo awakens from his sleep. His breathing was hunting, his heartbeat was beating very fast.

Purbo circulated his gaze while patting his own chest. The sweat soaked the shabby t-shirt he was wearing. The air was so cold, yet sweat was incessantly pouring through the pores of his skin.

Purbo turned his head, it turned out that Dini was still sleeping soundly on his back. Purbo glanced at the HP lying on the table. The HP screen remains locked. He pressed the button on the right side, only to see what time it was.

It's 12pm exactly. Purbo doesn't usually wake up in the middle of the night. Even though some days he always felt to sleep soundly and never disturbed.

"Hmmm, maybe because I don't drink wedang parem yes," murmured Purbo lirih.

Purbo felt his throat dry and hoarse. He's getting out of bed. While occasionally yawning wide he headed to the living room, looking for glasses and jugs that had been filled with wedang parem.

It turned out that the wedang parem was still on the table. Maybe Mama forgot to clean it up. Or it could be that Mak Nah was late again, even though just this afternoon Purbo was angry with him.

Purbo grabbed a glass containing wedang parem that was cold. Initially Purbo intended to treat thirst with wedang parem it. But his nose smelled a stinging foul scent.

The parem water in the glass in Purbo's hand grips is cloudy brown, with an unbearable foul and wicker smell. Even before going to bed, Purbo remembered very well, wedang parem was clear brown with a soothing aroma of ginger.

Spontaneous Purbo spit on the living room floor. Then Purbo checked into the jug. A bad smell was also smelled from there. The water inside the jug is equally murky. Moreover, it appears blackish fiber fibers that resemble hair attached to the lid of the jug.

"Uubbhhh!" Purbo covered his mouth using the right palm. While his cheeks look bloated resisting vomiting.

Half-running Purbo rushed to the back. He violently pushed the bathroom door wide open. Purbo's entrails pressed out, unbearable. His throat felt full and sore filled with acid reflux.

"HOOEEKKKK!" Purbo vomited out his stomach.

A still-intact roll of rice spilled in the bathroom courtyard. Purbo eyeballs appear to whiten when the fluid in the stomach comes out at the same time. However, Purbo's stomach was still bloated and rumbling. He felt his stomach and his stomach was pushed back down his throat.

"Hooeekk!" once again Purbo vomited.

Purbo rubs his mouth using the back of his right hand. Purbo's stomach now feels comfortable, but his entire body feels weak. Purbo flushes and cleans up the traces of vomit scattered in the bathroom courtyard.

After gargling and washing his face, Purbo walked into the kitchen. He picked up a neatly arranged glass on the shelf. Then pour the water in the teapot into the glass.

In a hurry Purbo immediately downed three glasses of water. Then he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Damn! It feels like fainting!" Purbo patted his own chest.

After drinking water Purbo was about to return to the room, but his sense of hearing caught the sound in the distance. The sound of people disturbing his sleep. The sound of screaming, the laughter neighing and like there were some people talking.

Purbo squinted his eyes, sharpening his hearing. The strange sound was like coming from the residential area of the villagers.

"Village what is the middle of the night? A party? Or is there a dream?" Purbo scrunched his forehead.

While patting his belly which still felt a little grand, Purbo walked back to the room. At first he was about to ignore the strange sound that was heard. Purbo returned to lay his body beside Dini who slept with a slanted position on his back. But Purbo's eyes were hard to shut, his sleepiness had disappeared. Replacing the curiosity in his mind. What are the residents of the village of Ebuh doing in the middle of a frozen night?

At 1 o'clock, the sound of voices from the residential areas of the villagers grew louder, more boisterous and crowded. Laughter is never interrupted. Sometimes whistling sounds at the same time. Purbo's eyes increasingly refused to shut.

About fifteen minutes later, the voice disappeared. Some time the atmosphere of the night turned quiet and silent. Purbo thought maybe the celebration was over. He pulled the blanket on the corner of the bed, trying to get back to sleep. But it turns out Purbo's guess was wrong. A moment after he stuffed his body into the blanket, the sound of a gong being struck resounded breaking the silence. Followed by the sound of drums and some musical instruments rhythmically.

Purbo re-revealed the blanket on his body. He sat on the bed, listening to music in the distance. The sound of people laughing neighed back. The voice of the person talking was getting louder.

Encouraged by curiosity, Purbo grabbed the jacket on the hanger. Do not forget to put HP in his pants pocket, and take a flashlight lying in the closet drawer.

Purbo tiptoed out of the room, afraid of disturbing his wife's sleep. He headed to the living room and hurried to open the door. Frozen air blew, hitting Purbo's face. It is not a good idea to go out at night in the village of Ebuh. The cold temperature really skinned Purbo's body.

Among the dense fog, there was a reddish glowing light in the settlement of villagers. The music continued to flow, ignoring the cold air that was able to make Purbo shiver.

Encouraged by curiosity in the heart, Purbo tightened the jacket on his body. He closed the door slowly. Then tiptoe left the courtyard of the house, down the road to the settlement of residents of the village of Ebuh. Armed with a flashlight in hand, Purbo continued to step his foot.

The gong sound is heard again. The sound of musical instruments followed with more lively. Purbo is increasingly convinced that there is a party or a big celebration in the residential area. Purbo won't miss. One way to socialize in the community is to be present at a party or celebration, Purbo thought.

The closer to the settlement of Ebuh villagers, the fog looks increasingly fading, not as thick as in the front yard of Purbo's house. The reddish light is becoming more visible. There was black smoke billowing in the night sky.

"Well, is there some kind of bonfire?" Purbo muttered, as he continued to swing his legs faster and more excitedly. He could not wait to meet the villagers and witness the great celebration that had disrupted his sleeping hours.
