The heavy rain did not stop. Lightning strikes several times, producing sparks of light that repel the darkness within seconds. The fog appears to be getting thicker with cold air piercing the pores of the skin.

Purbo rubbed his arm. The fine fur at the nape of the bristles felt the attack of freezing temperatures. Purbo was only wearing a shabby thin t-shirt that made him even more cold.

"Duh, it's raining heavily" Jasman murmured among the whistling sounds of water hitting the zinc roof.

Ajeng serves hot green bean porridge. The sweet lady was very quiet. Only occasionally came to talk when Jasman asked. It was very different when Ajeng met Dini yesterday.

"Mas, please answer my question earlier. Do you know a citizen named Ceking? Where the hell is he going? Why is everyone pretending not to know her figure?" Purbo asked again and stared intently at the couple before him.

Jasman is silent. A bowl of green bean porridge was left to puff out the thin smoke with the pungent aroma of ginger in front of him. The Purbo question made Jasman lose his appetite even though the warm porridge was very tempting in the midst of cold temperatures and heavy rain.

"Really, I came here hoping to get an answer from you, Mas Jasman. Of the many residents, only the njenengan look friendly and do not ignore me. The same is the case with the njenengan who thinks I need a friend to chat while pacing back and forth in the market earlier. I also suspect that I already know about my confusion and intend to explain everything" said Purbo began to lose patience.

"I told you Mas Purbo, I'm just trying to be friends with everyone in the village" Jasman said.

"If you really want to be friends, you should be willing to answer my question. Where's Ceking?" Purbo.

"I can't answer it" Jasman said quickly.

"That means there's no point in me lingering here for long" Purbo said, standing up from his seat.

"Where are you going? It's still raining really hard" stop Jasman.

"It was too late afternoon. My wife will be worried if I don't come home soon. Sorry Ma'am Ajeng porridge I did not eat," Purbo turned to look at Ajeng. Jasman's wife just nodded slowly.

"Attent. Let me drop you off. It's too dark" Jasman stood up.

"Jeng please get me an umbrella" Jasman told his wife.

Walk into the house. In just a moment, the sweet woman had returned with two black umbrellas. He handed one of the umbrellas to Purbo.

"Thank you" said Purbo, bowing for a moment.

When Purbo opened the black umbrella in his hand, suddenly just as brilliant as the picture of a beautiful woman in the midst of the rush of rain came back to be imagined. The woman wore a black umbrella and turned to Purbo. A smile spread on her reddish lips.

"Mass? Purbo?" Jasman patted Purbo on the shoulder while tightly grasping the black umbrella in his hand.

"Ah, iyy yaaa," Purbo awakens from daydreams.

"Mas Purbo ain't pa, is it?" jasman asked worriedly.

"I don't have pa pa pa. Oh yes, I say Mas Mbak," said Purbo.

"Yes Mas. Let me take. It was already very dark, "Jasman pulled out a large flashlight.

Amidst the rain, Purbo and Jasman walked through the slippery and muddy streets of the village of Ebuh. Puddles of old brown water began to form filling the holes scattered along the road ahead of the settlement of villagers.

The smell of wet soil stings the sense of smell. The strong wind several times made the black umbrella in Purbo's grasp feel heavy and almost detached. Thunder ceaselessly disdainfully sahutan, as if they were competing against each other showing which sound was the most frightening.

The houses on the left-right side of the street were quiet with all the doors shut. There was not a single nose of the villagers. They seemed to be afraid of the swift rain and the sound of undifferentiated thunder.

"Mas Purbo" said Jasman arrived.

Jasman turned off the flashlight. Darkness instantly imprisoned the sense of sight. Purbo stopped the move. Fear began to spread in the dark color.

Purbo gulps. The cold air tormented him. His skulls are great. His heart rate was beating irregularly. Purbo begins to suspect, Jasman has bad intentions on him. Didn't all the villagers behave indifferently? Why is Jasman being so friendly to her? Don't let that friendly attitude be the mask behind the real evil intentions.

"Mas Purbo" said Jasman once again in the darkness. His voice is soft but can be heard clearly even though racing with the sound of rain drops. Purbo was silent.

"When I said I wanted to be friends with the njenengan, I didn't lie. Then the question of the Ceking, sorry I can't answer it. I can't answer that in the residential area of the village. Because the party that you saw that night, could have happened to me at any time," continued Jasman.

"party? Judgment on Ceking you mean? So, that night I wasn't dreaming or hallucinating?" continued Purbo half yelling.

"Everyone was shocked to see you coming that night. Of all the people in Ebuh village, you are the only one who should not be there" replied Jasman.

"Why?" ask Purbo impatiently.

"I can't explain it now. If it takes too long here, our voice will be heard by Mbah Modo," Jasman turned on his flashlight.

"Hey! You owe me an explanation!" bentak Purbo's.

"Jalan jas. There's no time. Next time I'll explain!" jasman commands, slightly pushing Purbo to step back.

"I'm not going to obey you!" again, Purbo snapped and glared.

"What does he want me to be like Ceking?" jasman stared intently at Purbo.

"So, the Ceking punished was real?" purbo asked with a trembling voice.

"Jalan Mas! I'll explain next time!" Jasman walked ahead.

Hearing Jasman's words, Purbo finally complies. He closed the curiosity in his heart and walked tailing behind Jasman. Not long after they arrived at the Purbo courtyard.

"I'm waiting for an explanation from you!" whispered Purbo while returning the umbrella he borrowed.

"Be as usual. The day after coming to my stall," Jasman replied immediately turned around and left Purbo who was still standing on the front porch.

Half-run, Jasman returned home. When the rain left a thin drizzle, with feet full of mud he climbed the ceramic floor of his stall. He was about to enter the house, when there were footsteps in the front yard.

Jasman. He was quite surprised to see the arrival of Mbah Modo. The village chief walked over with a wooden stick in his right hand. He came with Japra and some villagers dressed all in black.

"Change Modo, let's go in, please" Jasman said with a friendly smile.

"I just stopped by Jasman for a second. I had heard that Purbo had just visited your shop" said Mbah Modo with his hoarse voice.

"Yes Mbah. Mas Purbo stopped by here for a while. Is there a problem Mbah?" jasman asked.

"none. I'm just reminding you, maybe you forgot. You can have Ajeng also thanks to me. So, do not act outside my rules, Ngger," concluded Mbah Modo with a grin. Jasman looked deeper.
