The Part 31
Adela. His nona gaze left a strange mark. His secret room seemed to have been searched without his permission. But he was helpless against it. Everything has been revealed so easily and all he can do is bow while trying to shake off the shame. "Bu-not that, Nonaaa," he replied weakly.
"Then?"
"Don't Miss understand how Mr. Hornest really feels about Miss? I'm sure Miss understands that. I can be sure. It's just that, if Miss is being a little soft and gives the master a chance, maybe-“
"No," cut Eien.
"But why? Sir is a nice guy who puts Miss first more than anything. But I kept seeing the harsh reactions of myself Miss. What is the reason Miss? And more importantly, what exactly is the reason for Miss's actions right now? I really don't understand."
Really very demanding sentence. It's not that Eien doesn't understand, it's just that, revealing too many things will only have an impact beyond estimates. Or maybe he should take that risk? "It's for his own good. It may be difficult for you to understand, but please do my request.”
“I really hope to do it. But all the questions kept rolling in my head. Even I myself have trouble controlling all the things that are raging there.”
Words that could urge Eien to sigh lightly. The iris again switched to the curtain-covered window, giving a fairly long pause before deciding to talk. “You know, Adela. Right now I am a deep, cold dark lake, we are immersed in a depth of light. The air alone is not worth breathing, let alone the love of God. You don't know what he's done. If it continues, the man will be increasingly sucked in the sufferings of obscurity." For a moment his eyes closed. Even I can clearly see the dark shadow in his heart. Not evil, but despair. I knew he had a hope, but it seemed to hang in a web of spiders. A little wind blew, then it fell already. So how could I allow such despair and cruel hope to hold him back just because of me?
Adela doesn't understand. He had only known these people for a few weeks. "Hurt?" Wasn't it obvious that the only thing causing her master to be sad was this woman? Well, that's what he's judged so far. “Master looks fine as long as Miss is with him.”
"No, Adela, you don't understand. It's not as simple as you imagine.”
“Then try. I can definitely understand it.”
That sentence stuck Eien for a while. Then his eyes that had turned back looked at the naive maid, even more intensely, making him gasp. “If I don't return to my house, then Hornest will be in grave danger."
For a moment the girl was silent at the sentence just now. Grand danger? “Ap-what does No-“ mean Adela's question suddenly faltered by the continuous thumping sound from the back of the car twice. They were jolted, especially Adela who was stricken with panic immediately spread her gaze towards the rest of the train. "What's that sound?!" Unanswered both were startled by the loud shaking of the carriage and the sharp neighing sound of the horses being forcibly stopped. Almost Eien fell if not for Adela who quickly caught his body so as not to fall to the floor. “Nona alright?” Seen the woman just nodded in confusion. He turned towards the small window behind his head, then shifted the cover. "What's going on?!" tensely. There is no answer but a strange silence. But something happened when slowly the driver's back fell to the side and then closed the window screen. Adela's reflexes smothered her mouth knowing that there was blood seeping in the coachman's white uniform. Just close the window and take a deep breath. W-didn't that sound be the sound of Lady Elena's bodyguard falling over? thought kalut.
It was an accident until the servant's overreaction sparked Eien's curiosity. “Adela?” His fingers were taken hard.
"We're under attack, miss! Maybe the bandits!" pekiknya fear.
“Bandits?”
“Yes. Lately there has been a lot of horse carriage robbery!”
“Eh?”
The drastic drop in air temperature around them convinced Eien of something. Even the gasping breaths that Adela's tiny lips exuded clearly into the thin steam that is common in the middle of winter further prove her prejudice. It's an unusual attack. Pimply.
"What's this about? Why did the air suddenly turn cold?" adela asked while rubbing Eien's palm alternately so that he remained in a warm state, only he forgot that his body temperature from the beginning was indeed icy cold.
Eien could only smile enjoying the kindness of Adela who ignored herself. Isn't it usual in this kind of precarious situation that humans are more self-centered? But this small and vulnerable girl
different, reminding him of a figure who had been gone hundreds of years ago. How'this? Once again a man has made me fall in love.
Suddenly the locked train door shook violently. Someone out there is trying to forcefully open without a word. Adela's breath was held waiting for something unexpected. Inwardly he prayed that anyone out there would never be able to open it up just to hurt them. Not long after that door fell silent leaving a stifling silence. Have they given up? Or maybe they are waiting for their prey to come out of the cage?
In silence, it was sniffed with a mouthful of sickening sharp scent, yet only Eien was able to detect it. At that instant he realized who the person who had attacked this horse carriage was. "really. The damned," he murmured.
At first glance, the question is heard behind Adela's frightened expression. “Cursed?”
"Close to me." Eien stretched out the hand that the servant immediately greeted, then immediately moved to sit to his side with a clear pushy look. "We're out" whispered the subtle.
"But, miss, it's safer inside here than outside. Whoever is out there, we don't know what their numbers are and what they want!"
"Think, Adela. If we don't get out, then we'll get stuck inside."
His heart almost stopped beating. "stuck?"
"really. Therefore, there must be someone to replace sais for this train to go back. Or maybe we should take off the horse's harness and ride it. The burden of the train will only slow the escape. Can you ride a horse?"
The bitter taste forced him to swallow his saliva in his throat. In situations like this, of course, it can or does not, he will still ride it. "Miss right! That way they'll have a hard time chasing us!"
"No, you're wrong. They're fast. Very quickly until both eyes will not be able to catch the shadow.” His voice is still the same. Quiet and flat.
His attitude actually made Adela more upset. How not, this was a situation where a normal woman would be stricken with panic. "Who are they, Miss? What do they want?"
"They want .. us." Eien took off the locked door hook and his left finger grabbed the handle of the car door and opened slowly.
