The Chapter 140

In accordance with Alita's instructions this afternoon, Rafa bought a pair of flat shoes for Hanna. Before heading to Hanna's apartment, the man took the time to buy a cheese cake first. The cake was bought based on Rafa's memories when the two often went together. Since Hanna used to buy the cake, Hanna must have liked it a lot.

After waiting for a while, Rafa became riled up. There was no reply from Hanna even though she had pressed the doorbell repeatedly. Could it be that Hanna really didn't want to see him?

Rafa reached into his pants pocket to retrieve his phone. Maybe he should text or call Hanna first to ask her whereabouts. But not until Rafa types a message for Hanna, Rafa hears a faint Hanna voice that seems to be climbing the stairs.

Rafa saved his phone back. Turn around to the window to see how it looks. Her lips smiled widely, preparing to welcome Hanna's arrival. But what he saw was not the sight that Rafa wanted to see.

Hanna walks side by side with Arthur, her college friend who has long approached her. Not only walking around and just spending time together, Hanna and Arthur even joined hands.

"Sir Rafa?" Murmured Hanna who was surprised when she found Rafa standing in front of the door of her apartment.

Even the two hands of the man seemed to carry something that would definitely be handed over to him. His face Rafa looked surprised, the man's gaze now seemed to be centered on Hanna and Arthur's interlocking hands.

"I'll go straight home. Let me know if your business is done, will you?" Arthur told Hanna.

Hanna nodded. "Be careful on the road."

"Yes. I love you." Arthur kisses Hanna's forehead before finally coming down the stairs and leaving her new boyfriend's apartment.

Rafa melengos's. What dream did he have last night so he had to witness a scene like this? A sight that made him envious and hurt.

"We're talking in the garden under aja, sis." Hanna broke the silence.

Rafa nodded his head, then followed Hanna down first. Actually Rafa was lazy, wanted to feel like he threw away the cake and shoes and went home. But on the other hand, he also wanted to listen to Hanna's explanation.

Hanna seemed to keep her distance from Rafa. The girl immediately shifted when accidentally Rafa's sitting position was so close to him.

Silence took over the atmosphere for a while. Hanna seemed confused about where to start the conversation, while Rafa busied himself looking at the night sky that was studded with stars.

"You're dating Arthur?" Rafa asked first, as it had been a few minutes and Hanna had not started to open her voice.

When the question was asked, Hanna simply answered with a nod of her head. Rafa sighed. Not only was she dissatisfied with Hanna's nodding reply, but she didn't expect the two of them to actually have a relationship.

Rafa's sharp eyes look, as if intimidating Hanna over the lie Hanna said two days ago.

"I lied. But about my relationship with Arthur, it's true."

Rafa took a breath back. Her chest felt tight right now, not expecting that now her hope of getting Hanna back was no longer there.

"Since when? Mother Wildan knows about your relationship?"

"Do I need to answer?" Hanna replied with a slightly taut tone. "Sir Rafa doesn't need to know in detail."

Rafa smiled cynically, laughing at himself who was now helpless against a girl. The girl he had known since childhood, the girl he had always considered a child.

I don't know where the goddesses fortuna and cupid are going now. Why could he no longer conquer the girl he wanted so easily? In the past, he had so easily gotten the girls. Only Alita took a long time to conquer, but Hanna? He can't even be conquered when Rafa starts to realize his feelings.

"Yes, you're right. I'm nobody to you, and I don't have to know anything about you."

"I hope, from now on, Rafa doesn't need to follow me. It's all over, there's nothing else to discuss or fight for."

Rafa stood up from his sitting position. I don't know how many times he's been breathing, his chest is really so tight as if it's going to explode right now. He could not force himself to linger sitting next to Hanna. He could no longer, because his heart was broken now.

"I will stay here after graduation, I will fulfill my promise to Om Taufik to take care of you until you graduate here."

"Sir Rafa doesn't need to admit it." Hanna got up from her seat, standing face to face with Rafa. "I can take care of myself here, so Rafa doesn't have to feel burdened by my father's request."

Rafa ignored Hanna's words. Instead, he focused on looking at Hanna's face not far from him, hoping that this would not be the last time he could look at Hanna this close for the last time.

"It's nothing, you can call me. Or you can come home, that's also your home. You can go home whenever you want, the door is always open for you." Rafa reaches into his jacket pocket, then grabs Hanna's right hand to hand over the keys to the house that Hanna had left behind.

"It's also cake and presents for you, I'll go home first."

With heavy steps, Rafa walked towards where his car was parked. After Alita, now Rafa again feels heartbroken because of Hanna. Somehow his life will go on later, Rafa can only pray in his heart. The prayer he used to pray also, when he suffered a heartbreak from Alita.

"I'll wait until the day I can forget you, or when you realize you can't forget me."
