CHAPTER 42. Which is More Right?
"You did it!" Adam wiped away his tears that came out because of this emotional moment.
Dikta looked at Adam relieved, they strengthened his grasp, Sean and Mama Reni cried outside finally Dikta passed the most painful thing in his life.
The doctor and the nurse who helped deliver Dikta immediately brought Dikta's baby to be cleaned, leaving Dikta and Adam there.
"You scared me" Adam sat down and took off their hands. "I thought you were going to leave me."
"After all the promises I haven't made?" He smiled at Adam.
Adam smiled back then stood up and took a tissue and wiped also Dikta's tears, seeing the stable condition Sean and Mama Reni entered into followed by Robby who was still trying to mediocre.
"You're making my brother worried" Sean replied, wiping the top of Dikta's head covered in hijab.
Dikta smiled at her brother as soon as Mama Reni, shortly after the Doctor and Sister came to bring Dikta's child after cleaning.
"His son, handsome, just like his father," the doctor glanced at Adam who made Adam cross his arms.
"I'm not his biological father" Adam scratched his nape softly.
"really? But this child's face is similar to yours" the doctor joked, handing the baby over to Dikta.
Hearing that makes Adam embarrassed while Robby even though it was just a joke as the original biological father was hot to hear it.
"At last you were born, dear," Dikta clutched her baby tightly and kissed her forehead.
"It's better for the baby to be delivered first," said Mama Reni took the baby from Dikta's hand and handed it to Sean. "You'd better give it to him, son."
"Why me? Isn't his biological father here?" Sean refuses and points to Robby who is instantly hurt by Mama Reni's attitude.
"Isn't Robby not holding the nab over this kid? Is appropriate?" ask Mama Reni.
"Anyone has the right to abuse a newborn child even though it is not his family, so if asked now Robby's rights are more here," Sean explained which made Dikta and Adam nod.
Hearing the story that made Mama Reni give the baby to Robby, Robby glared at the plain face of the baby that he had never admitted before and even accused him of adultery with other men.
Aye! Is deserved? robby raised his head around.
Robby immediately cried in holding his baby, completely embarrassed his sense of chanting for the child Dikta who even his nasab was lost to Robby.
Robby held back a drop of her tears again then walked towards Adam, she looked at Adam rhetorically with an inviting tone. "You will be his father, I will be happy if you raise the azan in his ear."
Adam was silent at Robby's request and suddenly made Adam difficult to answer, silent immediately.
Adam breaks the silence by staring at Sean, Mama Reni and Dikta take turns and get a green light from them.
"I want to,"
Adam grabs the baby and holds it in his arms after being in Robby's arms.
Robby smiled, now the sound of azan rang on the whole room from Adam's lips, when everything was silent, Robby chose to go from there.
He realized there was no longer a place in Dikta's heart for himself after all his mistakes so now his decision is only two, self-conscious and position conscious.
