"Ah..No. gabe.. Save me Mother... Nooooo!"
"Son, wake. Hey!"
Mom keeps patting Brain's chest, waking her only child from last night's nightmares.
Brain woke up, his breathing was irregular, sweat also soaked his wide forehead, his son looked pale as hell. The servant's spirit continued to follow him to dreamland.
"What dream are you Brain? Until like this. Chased snake?" Ask Mom curious.
Lidya laughs as mother insinuates Brain dreams of snakes,
"Thank you Ma'am" Bela Lidya while feeding Celvin.
Lidya did not take care of her husband if he was at home in-laws. She is also a mother who wants to be with her child, as well as a mother-in-law.
"Mom. Looks like Brain has to tell this to Mom" Brain said looking serious.
"What, Son?"
Brain also tells the beginning of strange events that he occupied in the official house. He asked for advice from his mother. His life is not calm continues to haunt strange events in the house.
Seeing her son so scared, Mira's mother was worried. He decided to invite Brain to meet one of the famous smart shamans in the village of Gondoro, a remote village in the hills. Razaq's name, he was a student of Brain's late father. While alive, once Brain's father was also a shaman. Not just a shaman, he helped people a lot, most complaints from some people who met him is a disease of delivery or witchcraft.
"I'm picking up the kids, Ma"
As soon as Brain was pensive, it was hard to leave his wife and child at home. But, access to Mr. Razaq's house is not possible to pass through. Moreover, children under the age of ten years are prohibited from entering the area of the house owned by a famous shaman. Because put home or bring home, there will be an invisible figure attached to his body and difficult to remove.
"I can come, Pa?" Ask Hani.
"No need, son. You help Mama take care of her sister" Timpal said.
Mira, her grandmother doesn't want her granddaughter in danger. So he decided no one should leave the house until he and Brain got home.
"Please take care of my granddaughter, Lid" Mira's mother told her minant, Lidya.
"Yes, Mom.."
Mom and Brain were alone with a small basket made of rattan. There are some leaves also that Mother Mira picked before leaving for Mr. Razaq's house.
After her In-laws and Husbands left, Lidya hurried to close the door, following instructions from her in-laws, not to open the door until they returned.
"Let's play in the room"
Lidya takes her daughter Hani and Nadira to the room with her after cleaning up Celvin's leftovers in the kitchen.
Not long ago the in-laws and husband left the house, Lidya heard like someone was knocking on the door outside. He was confused whether to obey the in-laws or open them. He decided to look behind the curtains,
"Assalamualaikum, Miss Mira.."
Seeing a middle-aged woman greeting from outside, Lidya was moved to open the door. Moreover, the woman also brought food placed in a glass bowl patterned with roosters.
"Goddessalam..."
Lidya smiled looking at the middle-aged woman. He then received a bowl containing SOP hot ribs with a carrot topping in it.
"Makasi ya Bu food" said Lidya slightly lowered her body.
"Together, Son. Where's Mira's mother?" Ask the woman.
"Go out, there's business. Just go home" replied Lidya.
"Oh. If so, Mom said yes. Don't forget to eat the SOP, it's better to eat while it's hot" he said and left.
Thought Lidya might have been her neighbor-in-law. Indeed, residents in the village of Gondoro not as much as before the earthquake. Naturally, if now the atmosphere of Brain's hometown looks deserted, many empty houses are uninhabited flanking the Brain's house.
"Hmmm, this looks good" Lidya said as she closed the door.
The middle-aged woman looked back with a scary face and laughed behind a shady tree trunk.
Nadira who saw her from the first time the woman came, suddenly made the little girl frightened and hugged Lidya. Before the middle-aged woman left, she turned to face Nadira with a scary smile.
"Ma. What's that mama?" Ask Nadira.
"It's SOP ribs, good. The smell made Mama hungry again. We eat yuk" said Lidya.
Lidya's words made her even more afraid. The girl did not understand why her mother would accept food containing maggots.
"Ma. Mamma. Not meat. That's obviously a caterpillar, Ma. Try mama check again" said Nadira reassured her mama.
Lidya was shocked, obviously what she saw was a warm rib SOP. He was angry and hit Nadira, thinking his son was not polite to berate the food given by others.
Nadira was in pain and ran into the room to find her brother Hani.
"Where are you running?" Tanya Lidya with a violent face.
Nadira did not dare to approach his mother. He took refuge behind Hani's body.
"That's mama why, deck?" Hani asked with a confused face.
Nadira also explained with sobs to endure the pain after being beaten by Lidya,
"Weird mom, brother. In the bowl it is not SOP ribs, but maggots kak. I saw for myself. But mama was even more angry" said Nadira frightened.
Hani believes her mom is possessed, just like the incident at school a few days ago, her boyfriend is acting exactly like what his mom is doing now.
"Dek, call Papa right now" said Hani then ran over, rushing to lock the room door.
"Open up..! Open door! Open the..."
Lidya continued banging on the room door with a very hard blow. His screams echoed all over the side of the room. Celvin who was just sleeping woke up hearing Lidya's voice, shrill.
"Open baby.. This is mama, son" Lidya said and laughed out loud.
Hani doesn't understand why it could be like this. His mind was also confused while looking at the vibration of the door from Lidya's punch.if the mother kept banging, the door could be broken.
Hani glanced at the fairly large teak dresser in the corner of the room,
"Please brother, deck. We push the closet together" said Hani pointing at the closet in the corner of the room.
Nadira also left the phone that had entered from Brain, he put it on the mattress.
"One. Two. Three" said Hani giving a warning.
The two of them worked together to push the closet with all their might. Slowly the closet was up to also cover the door, although not so tight. Hani felt that it was enough to prevent the mother from entering to meet them.
"Hallo... Hello" Brain said behind the phone.
Hani realized then turned to look at the phone with the screen still on, and,
"Yes. Hello, Pa" answered Hani in a voice.
"You why? The coke sounds like a man out of sport" Brain asked.
"Papa's coming home, Pa. Mamma. Mama, Pa" said Hani trying to regulate the rhythm of his breath.
Brain panic, though,
"Mom why, son? You're safe at home, right?" Ask Brain.
Hani then cried, though,
"Mama is different, Pa. That's not Mama, Pa. Nadira was hit, his hands were blue all hit by Mama"
Hani tried to control her crying,
"Papa's coming home right now. Hani's scared, Pa. Mama from earlier did not stop gedor-gedor room door. Hani accidentally locks the room door. Hani's scared, Pa"
Hearing that something was wrong with his family at home, Brain asked his mother for permission to go home first,
"Mom. Brain go home first, Mom. Something seems wrong at home. Hani was scared, Mom" Brain said, saying goodbye.
Suddenly,
"Wait" said Mr. Razaq.
The shaman looked at Brain, though,
"You cannot leave before completing this ritual" Mr. Razaq said firmly.
"But, Sir. My children and my wife, they need me now" Brain replied refusing to continue the ritual.
"I know what's going on in your house. Your wife Brain. He is currently in a trance. But you don't have to worry, Lidya is a strong woman, she has khodam from the ancestors"
Mira's mother also pulled her son's arm slowly, inviting him to sit back.
"Finish this ritual and go home soon" said the shaman.
Brain continued the ritual of exorcizing evil spirits in the official house he had just occupied. Meanwhile, the shaman prepares several herbs that must be drunk and watered on each side of the house occupied by Brain, every Friday night.
"Don't forget to drink this concoction as the sun begins to set, and flush each of the herbs in this bottle every Friday night on the side of the room"
Brain received seven small glass bottles filled with potion water with seven powders wrapped in dried banana leaves. Brain put it in the basket the mother had brought.
