A Tears's
Chapter 7's
Alexa is my only good friend in NY. He's a student in the same department as me. In contrast to me who is difficult to get along with people, Alexa is very friendly, she is friends with anyone. Almost all the students who entered in the same year as me knew who Alexa was.
He was also the first to approach me, offering to help me during the beginning of my move to NY. He started taking me on vacation and we decided to become friends who supported each other. I am so grateful to have Alexa as my friend.
No one's been talking since we got into Alexa's car. I don't know what to say to Alexa, which I know Luke must have told Alexa about what happened between us.
"You okay?" Alexa started talking.
"Yes" I said. I forced to smile.
Suddenly Alexa began to cry "How can you be okay, your boyfriend impregnates another woman" her voice rose up followed by her cries. I could only be silent, thinking back to Luke's words. I could only smile "I've been crying all night, I'm not sure I'm going to be with you crying tonight" I said. Alexa parked the car in a park, and looked at me with her tears still flowing, waiting for me to speak.
I never understood my sad story to others, I didn't want people to think I was a weak person. So it's very difficult to start this conversation, "I'm not sure about myself, like I'm running out of steam. I can't think well, I don't crave to eat, I just want to keep quiet" I explained. Alexa's tears are still flowing, maybe she can feel what I'm feeling.
"You know, I never thought something like this would happen in my life. My beloved boyfriend will leave me, because he impregnates other women in a drunken state. Have you ever thought about this" Alu still tried to laugh while explaining this. Alexa was still in silence and I continued. "He kept saying he loved me, I started to think if he loved me why not ask the woman to drop her body. I'm so mean, aren't I?"
Alexa shook her head and hugged me "There's nothing wrong with you baby" she said. Alexa's embrace made me cry, in contrast to my cries last night, this time calmer.
"You know, there's so much we've been through together. Now that it's all meaningless, I wonder, does she feel the same way I do?" Alexa took me out of her arms.
"Evenings after he told me. I asked her what to do now", holding back my cries I said again "She should have found herself one last time, instead of disconnecting all by phone"
I'm so desperate, I wish Luke was with me right now. Alexa hugged me without saying a word.
Surprisingly after gripping my heart to Alexa, my heart was a little calm like a little weight lifted from my body. Alexa took me to her apartment, "come in tonight" she said.
When I woke up the next day, Alexa had already left for work and left me alone. I began to wake up, my eyes still sore. Quietly sitting on Alexa's pink couch, I decided to let Luke go. However, he must be responsible for his actions, whether intentionally or not. Even if Michelle isn't pregnant right now, I'm not sure I'm going to accept Luke sleeping with his co-worker. "It's gonna be hard, but you've been through harder things than this. So try Joa, you can" I told myself.
I took my phone, searched Juno's name. Since last night he's been calling me, he must be worried that I didn't pick up the phone and didn't even return the message.
"Joa?" juno's voice made me smile
"Juno, what are you doing" I asked
"I'm on my way home. What are you doing yourself? I've been calling you since last night but you didn't pick up my phone" I immediately felt guilty for worrying Juno.
"I'm sorry, I work all day" I explained. I don't think it's time to tell you about my relationship with Luke that's over.
"You okay?" ask Juno
"Of course I'm fine. Don't worry about me, I can take good care of myself. Better the singer please take care of your health and do not forget to eat" I said while joking.
"You don't sound all right" Juno replied. Juno's the only person I can't lie to, probably because we're bound by blood. He could tell there was something wrong with me just by hearing my voice.
"Umm, I'll tell you later" I said briefly,
"Well, I won't ask you again. Make sure you eat enough and sleep, don't work too hard. Without you working, I can support you" Juno explained.
After getting a phone call from Juno, I rushed home, I still have a lot to do, I can't stay here.
"Hi," I said
There was no reply from Kevin, but he looked quite worried. Before she asked, I said "I'm fine" with a smile. "Why are you always at home, aren't you on vacation" I said with a laugh.
Kevin just smiled. I'm sure he's very curious about my problem. But since we weren't close enough, he wasn't sure if he could ask about my problem. "I'll make you lunch" Kevin said.
"Ah.. Kevin, let's eat out today. I'll take a shower for a while, then let's go together" I said.
That afternoon we decided to enjoy ramen as our lunch. A small but convenient restaurant to enjoy our lunch, I looked at Kevin who was in front of me.
"What's up" he said
"No, I just thought you shouldn't have stayed home"
"This may sound disrespectful, but you're really fine" Kevin asked
"Alan is also very worried about you" he explained again.
"I'm fine now. Sorry to worry you" I said. Kevin smiled, "Thank you if you're okay now"
"Is there a place you want to go?" my many. Kevin will be back in Korea tomorrow, at least I can accompany him if he wants to go somewhere.
Kevin thought hard while finishing his meal. "Should we relax in a park, I have lots of parks in Manhattan" he explained
It's true that there are many beautiful parks in Manhattan, but I didn't think the place Kevin wanted to go before he came back was a park. "All right, we're going to the park. But not now, it's still too hot" I said
We decided to sit in the ramen restaurant a little longer, because it was not rush hour, not many customers who ate there.
"What are your activities other than writing songs?" ask Kevin
"Not much, I took some guitar and bass courses for my work"
"You're exercising" he asked again.
I smiled "No, I'm not good at sports. But I really enjoy watching sports" I explained
"Ahh but of all, I love to swim. It's been a year I've also taken a diving course" I explained again
"Wahh, it turns out you have a lot of activities" Kevin said
"Honestly, I've always been full of friends, fans and attention. I always enjoy things like that. When I broke up with my ex-boyfriend, I immediately fled to America. At first I wondered if I could do it alone. But after a month of walking alone, I appreciate my time, without anyone else. I think I can understand you" Kevin explained
"When I got here, you and Alan were watching me, even taking me to the lake. It turned out to be a lot of fun when someone was with me" she said,
I looked at Kevin, tilted my head, I was a little confused by what he said, "Ah, I'm also happy to be able to find you" I replied.
"Thank you Joa, I hope you're always happy" Kevin's smile was warm, his words gave me a little strength.
