During my five years in NY, not many people visited my house. Mostly I will find my friends outside or I will come to their homes. As I recall only four people have ever visited my house. Juno who comes to visit me every year, Alexa my travel buddy, Luke who occasionally comes to stay overnight and the last Alan.
Alan who eventually became my roommate also never brought his friend or girlfriend to visit the house, even though I never forbid it. Though I once told Alan that once in a while he could bring his friend of course before that he had to tell me first.
Alan and I chose to wait outside the restaurant while Kevin was finishing our lunch bill. Another reason why we were outside the restaurant was to listen to Alan's reasoning about Kevin's question.
"What do you mean?" much
"Joa, listen to me. I completely forgot to tell you. Actually, I invited Kevin to stay with us while he was in NY" Alan explained, Alan's countenance squeezing because he forgot to tell me about it.
"You should have told me, how could you... Ahh forget it" I actually don't mind Kevin staying at our house while he's in NY, anyway he's Alan's cousin. Just seeing Alan's guilt-ridden attitude makes me a little amused
"Joa, listen to me, it's been almost a month that he's been traveling alone. So I think it's good if he has a friend before returning to Korea" this time Alan whines a little like a kid.
"Alright, whatever. She'll sleep with you anyway"
"Joa, you're too much this time. How could you let two men sleep in such a small room"
"What the hell do you think, you told Kevin to sleep on the couch?"
"Why on the couch, we have another room" Alan explained
"You're crazy, that's Juno's room crazy"
"Nobody occupies, at least five days. Uhm.. Not four nights, just four nights, in Juno's room. Please friend" Alan held my hand hoping I would allow it
"You owe me one time"
Kevin who came out of the restaurant immediately made us smile at him, as if nothing we were talking about was conscious.
On the way home, we spent more time looking at the scenery on our way, "it's summer" I thought. The leaves look so green, calming the eyes and mind. We entered our residential area, a simple yet comfortable and quiet place. The residents in this neighborhood are mostly office workers, they are friendly but do not interfere too much in the affairs of other residents.
The house Juno bought for me to occupy was quite simple, having only one floor. Two bedrooms in the front, one room occupied by Alan and another one occupied by Juno occasionally. I occupy the bedroom in the middle room, in front of my room there is a dining room and kitchen. At the back of the house there is a lounge, there is a window large enough to receive sunlight and see the artificial lake backup. Ahh actually above my room, there is a room that is not too big. Not counted floor because initially only used as a warehouse, I renovated the room to make the studio for me to work.
"Come in" I said
"Pick up your own house" Alan said
"You can occupy this room. This is my brother's room, where he occasionally visits me and sleeps in this room. I'll bring you a new bed sheet soon" I explained
"Thank you, sorry to bother you" Kevin said awkwardly. I just returned with a light smile and nodded.
Alan followed me from behind, patting me on the shoulder "Let me, you better get some rest"
"Okay.. Then I'll be in the studio" I replied briefly as I climbed the stairs to my studio.
It's been a while, someone's been visiting and even staying at our house. Considering I knew Kevin well enough through Alan's story, "it would definitely be fun" I thought.
The pleasant atmosphere led me to continue my work well. It does not feel time is late enough, I quite often forget the time while working. Alan, who understood my workmanship, never bothered me, only occasionally reminded me of mealtime.
Ahh time has already shown at one in the morning, I have spent ten hours here to make two songs. I was still wearing clothes this afternoon and started to feel uncomfortable, with the rest of my strength I had, I started to go down the stairs to my room.
"You just finished?" ask Alan. Alan's voice surprised me enough, Alan and Kevin were watching a basketball game in the lounge room.
"You surprised me" I said, "Why haven't you slept?" much
"You haven't slept either, have you finished it? " said Alan. While nodding I continued down the stairs towards my room.
"Eat first, we made pasta for dinner last night" Alan said
"I'll eat it tomorrow as breakfast, I'll have to take a shower and sleep now" My stomach was hungry enough that fatigue overcame everything, "I need sleep" I said inwardly.
