8 months later.
"Brother Son." Call a warden who is unlocking the cell where Putra has spent the past three years in detention.
"Yes sir," Sahut Putra, as he moved from his seat. The son looked very excited on this day, because today was his day of freedom.
"Follow me." Said the prison warden with a face expression that looked flat.
"Yes sir." For a moment the Son looked at his friends who were one cell with him. During his three years there, of course many stories were engraved with his other inmates. The cell wall became a silent witness, somehow the occupants containing the eight people, came and went.
"Good outside bro.." Said an inmate, hugging the Son tightly.
"Yes too." Sahut Putra patted the prisoner's shoulder.
"Well, if it's outside don't forget us." Said a nineteen-year-old inmate.
"Just calm down." Sahut Putra smiling.
"Son, don't leave the prayer. Don't forget we're here to repent. If it comes out, never forget, if the punishment is more severe. So, be well outside and never leave your prayers," The life-long convicted for killing his neighbor got up from his seat. Then he hugged the Son tightly. The man is almost the same age as the brother, and has been considered his own father by the Son.
"Okay sir. I say goodbye first," said Banyu, hugging tightly the old body.
"Sir, it's diligent that you look at us here. Don't forget you bought us cigarettes!" The inmate, who was sentenced for two years, for stealing something from his neighbor's house. The man named Togar, with a sturdy body and a plontos head was forced to steal. His wife will give birth to their fourth child. Togar has just been in PHK from his job and is cornered by circumstances that make him dark-eyed.
"Ready bang, God willing." Sahut Putra who moved to embrace the strong man.
"You tea do not forget yes Put, if I am free do not want to be contacted. I tea one village with you." Said Asep who was in law because it was scuttling the streets of Jakarta City. Asep is a desperate overseas, he has been in Jakarta for several months, but never got a job. At that time Asep was wrong and invited to scuttle. Unfortunately, the man was caught by the people and almost his life was lost. While Asep's friends can get away with the motorcycle they use to hunt down the victims.
"Yes Sep, you don't worry tea." The son smiled and hugged Asep.
"Lu don't forget us. Just watch if lupain.. meet on the street, I gundulin you..!" Canda is an inmate with a thick Betawi accent.
"Relax Pik" Sahut Putra smiled.
"Grand success ojok lali karo me. Recruit me to be your guy Put anyway.. Put.." Said Leo who had a rabbit tattoo on his arm. The man was forced to stay in prison for his own wrongdoing. A few years ago he was a building clerk in a luxury complex. Because of the glare at the property of the house that is right next to the house he is building, Leo also utilizes the lonely situation in the house that becomes his target. Not without reason, Leo did it all because of the insistence of his hometown. Leo has an incredible responsibility. Her mother is sick, while her children need fees to go to school.
"Quiet me.." Sahut Putra while hugging Leo who looks very fond of the Son.
Now the Son has said goodbye to all the inhabitants of the cell. He looked at his cellmates with a stare. Then he waved his hand and walked away from the cell, following the prison warden who was waiting for him.
The son walks into the prison office, to complete the dossier and retrieve his freedom letter. After all the business was done, he was given a white shirt and pants that had been prepared by the prison. As a gift to the inmates who will leave the House.
After changing clothes, the Son was taken to the gate of the Prisoner House. Seeing the four-meter-high gate with tight guard, like seeing a new hope. Behind that gate is a world of freedom. Just one step away the Son can breathe his fragrant air of freedom.
After signing autographs and also showing freedom letters, the Son was allowed to leave the Prisoner House through an iron door that would soon be opened by the warden.
Cklekk!
The key was opened and the door was pushed outwards. The morning sunlight is so beautiful from the outside. The son stepped out after thanking the warden who had opened the door for him.
The son inhaled the scent of freedom deeply while closing his eyes. Then he tried to find a figure he knew among some people who were waiting for the freedom of his relatives. Until his eyes were fixed on an old woman and old man who was approaching him.
"Oh Allah jang... You are finally free."
"Mom..!" The son hugged Ambu tightly. Tears flowed unbearably.
"Jang... How are you? Hopefully after this you are better off. You can finally get out." Said the brother who was also overwhelmed.
The three of them also hugged each other, releasing a longing that was so torturous between parents and children.
The son was stunned when he saw Rafis running towards him. At that moment he also released his embrace of abah and ambu. He greeted Rafish with doubt.
"Rafis," he murmured. The boy had just moved up to fourth grade in elementary school. There have been a lot of changes in Rafis. The boy is getting tall and handsome. With hesitation, Putra returned the embrace of Rafis who felt so tightly hugging his body.
"Rama-rafish.." Mumbled again.
Why didn't the boy forget about him? But not even once did Rafi come to see the Son.
"Why does Rafis still know me?" Ask the Son with an incredulous facial expression.
"Jang, your a'a never teaches hate. Even your photos are still in his house. Rafis keeps getting to know you and your memories with him through that photo. Be grateful that your jang is a good man." Ambu lights.
The son was silent, feeling tight in his chest. For three years he pondered about his mistakes and his ego as a man from behind bars, he had already realized what was wrong with himself.
"You're a big boy.." Said the Son while looking at both eyes of Rafis who still looks the same as before when staring at him.
"Yes pa... papa how are you?" Ask the plain boy.
"Good darling... Papa misses you so much." The son hugged Rafish tightly. The feeling of haru and happy burst into his heart. He was truly grateful when he made a mistake, but none of his family would abandon him. Even support always flowed to her who was clearly too selfish.
"A'a which tea is ambu?" Putra asked as she remembered the figure of Banyu, behind the sense of truly feeling guilty to her biological brother.
"Banyu tea again in the hospital. We're here as drivers."
"Who is sick? Tasia?" The son looked worried.
"It doesn't hurt or jang, but Tasya tea wants to give birth."
"Huh?" The son looked surprised, because he had never heard that Tasya was pregnant with his nephew.
"Yes jang, ato we go straight to the hospital."
"But ambu..."
"Why? It's okay at all."
"Will Tasya see me?" Ask Putra again, with a face that looks so scared when he will meet Tasya.
"Tea tea is not that kind of person. You tea take it easy. He is a kind and forgiving man. The tea then let it pass. The most important thing right now is tea you should know, if we all are, a family that loves you very much.." Abah.
The son was silent for a moment. Then he smiled faintly and looked ambu, abah and Rafis, one by one.
"Okay, we're going to the hospital. Let's go!" Said Putra while holding Rafis and walking to the parking lot of the Prisoner House.
"Woghhh, you're so heavy now!"
"Papa's got a mustache now!" Reply Rafis.
"Hahahahaa. but handsome right...?"
"Began first."
"Hahahhaa. ok, papa will shave his mustache and beard. Let's get back handsome again like before" said Putra with a look of a very happy face with Rafis who was in his arms.
"It's okay if in the end I can't be your papa. But I can still have you, even if only you are my nephew." The inner Son who continued to look at Rafis with a smile that continued to expand on his lips.
