Early in the morning, Reno found Juan looking restless. The man was pacing around in his room, still wearing a tangled sleeping suit and his disheveled hair. As usual, when he was agitated, the man also bit his fingernails—which was either clean or not.
“Ngapain how? Again think about how to move humans to Mars?” reno asked, finally infiltrating into Juan's room after previously just watching from the doorway.
Juan turned his head quickly, stopping his pacing movements only to present a gaze that was too difficult for Reno to translate. Oh, he just woke up. Don't tell him to guess because it takes a lot of energy.
“Ren,” call Juan slowly after a long silence. Then, he walked closer to Reno, eroding the distance between them until only one step remained.
“What, anyway? Why?” Reno's starting to get a little sewed up. The man who had just trimmed his hair and turned it back into jet black then pulled a step back, ogah was too close to Juan.
“Ren...” call Juan again. This time it sounded more like he was whining so as to make Reno powerless to refrain from staring sharply.
“What, anyway, dog?! Ngolong! That face also does not need to be like that, jiik!” Reno grumbled with a voice that rose several octaves. Her hands were already itching once in fact, wanting to snap Juan's head so that his bongsor cousin stopped whining like a baby. Because even though it's Saturday and they have plenty of time to talk, Reno still doesn't want his time wasted.
While waiting for Juan to speak, Reno walked to the bed. With his leisure he collapsed on a soft bed, while playing a Juan— tab to use it to play angry bird.
“Gue to bed Zahira.”
“Oh,” is just that response that Reno first gave. Eits, but wait a minute. Reno responded because she didn't really listen to what Juan just said. Because after his brain re-digested, the tiny man practically screeched. He jumped, made the tab in his hand flung and landed horribly on the floor.
“Lo said what just now?!” shouted again. Already no longer cared about him on the condition of the helplessly barking tab. No matter how much money he had to spend to replace the damage. The man walked over to Juan, staring as seriously as they were in serious discussion about how to move humanity to Mars.
“Gue to bed Zahira.” With intonation and tone of voice still the same, Juan repeated his sentence. There was no time to be upset that Reno had broken the tab he had to buy last week, because he now had much more important things to discuss with Reno.
Apply Zahira. Juan was not bragging when he said that. He is also not under the influence of alcohol or any drugs that can make him so bouncing. Juan was a hundred percent aware, and he finally came to this decision after going through so many nights with so much consideration.
Today, it has been almost a month since he and Zahira made up again. During that time, many things happened again. They occasionally still check small due to miscommunication. Not infrequently he also often feels jealous of Adnan and Zayyan even though they had previously agreed not to discuss about other people in their relationship again.
But, more importantly than that, Juan knows marrying Zahira is the only way for Moana to stop obsessing about herself.
Juan is not stupid. Although Moana no longer approached her aggressively, Juan knew she still had the intention to enter into her relationship with Zahira, and it was very disturbing. If he complained to Zahira about it, he would only end up lecturing to keep thinking positively about others.
The thing is, Zahira is too innocent. She would not know that Moana could have acted recklessly to get what she wanted. So, Juan thought, before Moana went any further, why didn't he and Zahira just set a hard line so that the woman wouldn't want to stop getting close?
Juan nodded steadily. “Yakinu. I've considered everything.”
“About that, how?”
“Udah I thought of too. I'm going to Zahira.” It's not easy, but Juan believes he can. Because, is not God essentially one, and only the way we communicate with Him is different?
For some time, Reno lowered her head. He thought about a lot of things even though he was not the one who wanted to make this big decision. When it comes to belief, Reno never dizzy. Because even though he and Juan would eventually believe in a different God, Reno still believed that the blood flowing in their bodies would never change. They remain brothers, no matter which God they worship in the days that follow.
The big worry for Reno is the blessing of Juan's parents, especially his mother. Because although he never explicitly forbade Juan from dating Zahira, Reno knew Juan's mother had no interest in the devout woman. If Juan stays desperate to marry Zahira, will everything be okay?
“Ren,” and that brief clap made Reno lift her head again. He took a deep breath when his net collided with Juan's, shining a hopeful twinkle.
“How do you think? Who should I talk to first? Abi Hamzah, or Zahira?” ask Juan.
But rather than one of the two choices, Reno instead answered “Mama” which immediately made Juan moan disappointed.
“The first person who should lo mintain permission is Mama.” Reno continued.
“Ngapain? Guys do not need to get blessing from anyone who can get married.” Juan the stubborn one.
Reno sighed—lagi. “Lo may not care, but how about Zahira?” askalanya. “If you want to marry Zahira without the blessing of Mama, do you think Zahira's life in the future will go easy?” keep Reno on, and then she shakes. “No, Ju. Zahira will definitely be an inner pressure because she knows her presence is not welcome.”
Hearing that, Juan fell silent. Then, he took some time to ponder for quite a while. All this time, all he thought about was how to become accepted into the Zahira— family and he managed to do it. However, he never thought about how to get Zahira accepted into his family. In fact, five years of dating, Juan has never brought Zahira into a family event.
“The marriage is not just about two human children who fall in love and want to live together forever, Ju. The wedding brings together two different families from all sides, and you have to find a way to match-in anything different so that your wedding works.” Reno is no expert in romance. Obviously not, when he hasn't even been able to get a way to bring Clarissa back into his arms. But when it comes to this, Mami has told her often. Love alone is never enough to build a family.
“Lo think again. Find a way first to make Mama love blessing, then you continue this lo plan.” Finally, it became the ultimate sentence that Reno said to Juan, before he finally passed by carrying the burden of Juan's mind with him.
While Juan, the man was still pensive in his place with more things spinning in turn in his head.
