Chapter 17 Free Business

Last night, Tama came home at midnight. He entered by settling like a thief. It just so happened that the door had not been locked by Naura, because she was sure her husband would come home even late at night.

"Mas, just got home?" Naura welcomed her husband home with a sweet smile.

"Will I take a shower?"

Tama stared at the stagnant water in the huge basin that was still emitting smoke. He slowly touched the water and was silent for a moment.

"Did you cook this much water for me to take a bath?"

Tama began to bathe with the water Naura prepared. Luckily, she didn't have to feel cold in the middle of the night.

Meanwhile, Naura had prepared pajamas for her husband to wear later after bathing. Then he lay down on his bed and closed his eyes to go to sleep.

Now Tama is home. I need to get to bed soon.

When Naura closed her eyes, Tama came out of the bathroom. He sighed when he saw his pajamas lying on the side of the bed. Despite her heavy heart, Tama chose to wear pajamas prepared by Naura.

"Oh I'm really tired."

Tama laid her body in the same bed as Naura. Only, tonight he put two rolls at once between Naura and himself. Those rolls were the boundary between them.

Naura chose not to ignore her husband. He went straight to the bathroom for the booze. Then, pray at dawn and continue by reading the Qur'an for a while.

Naura lies to her mother not to be suspected and not to be asked about her relationship with her husband.

"What's wrong with just staying home. After all, you have a reliable husband."
