Chapter 270: Two Adventurers And One Guard

Arthur sat leaning against the wall while listening to Mion's explanation in front of him lying on the bed.

He decided to call her that even though she was actually two years older than him.

After listening, he understood one thing about the city within this fortress, which resembled a frog in a well. They lived here without knowing the outside world as if fear had locked them in a shell.

The residents do not mind, but Mion has his own thoughts.Every time he meets the traders he always asks how things are outside what it feels like when the wind blows in your face, or how the scent of the sea, until finally the desire to see it himself appeared in his mind.

Arthur says.

"If you want to go, just go. You can come with us, I think Paula will be happy if you become her friend and both advance the adventurer guild in the village."

"But it's gonna be hard."

"But.."

"Sleep, and leave the rest to me."

Arthur smiled gently and said.

"I'll sleep on the couch, good night."

While lying on the sofa, Arthur glanced at the ceiling of the room with a long view until Clara's figure appeared from behind the sofa ignorantly.

"Defying the offer of sleep from a woman, is disrespectful."

"Whispering, from the beginning you already knew right? And planned all this."

"It's true."

Clara climbs onto the couch until she puts Arthur on it.

"I secretly asked about Mion to another merchant, so what are you going to do to help him? She's so beautiful and kind, it's sad that she's got a destiny in a place like this."

Clara's tone sounded deliberately contrived as if she already knew the answer.

Arthur just sighed softly until finally Clara positioned herself sitting on the stomach.

"Tell the others we'll be here a little while, I'll take care of something tomorrow."

"Well, whatever it is please involve me. Then I'll go."

Clara came out of the window to jump down while crossing her arms, Arthur only watched her back until her figure disappeared completely.

The next morning Arthur had prepared some meals for the two of them to enjoy, they were all just simple meals that were easy to make even though Mion enjoyed them so much.

"Yes, Arthur is very good at cooking."

"so."

"After eating make sure to go to work."

"Good."

Before Arthur opens the door, Mion calls out to him.

"On yesterday, how to say it?"

"Don't worry, I forgot about it when you tried to get me intimate."

"You remember it."

Arthur hurriedly came out as Mion chased after him.

"Basic," said Mion smiling widely.

It was a special headquarters for the city guards where his head named Ladolfo happily put a teacup for Arthur who was sitting on the sofa.

"Please, Mr. Arthur."

"Call me Arthur."

"I can't possibly call someone who has saved this city like that, we're so grateful."

Arthur just sipped his tea and started a conversation.

"I heard that in this city there is a ban on its inhabitants not leaving this place."

"Truely, in the past this wall had been made before there was excessive monster activity.The inhabitants of this city made the rules, do you know about the plague that occurred in this kingdom?"

"I had time to read it," replied Arthur lightly.

"Previously some people were exposed to a strange disease where their skin was peeled off, the kingdom did not want to bother about it and built a city to lock them up with the high wall that we know today as the Great Wall of Ivielda, it almost sent the entire population of the kingdom because the kingdom was not this wide."

Ladolfo was silent for a moment to drink his tea and continued.

"But miraculously the people began to heal because it was basically just an ordinary disease, the king decided to bring back his inhabitants to the kingdom, and he was, but unfortunately everyone rejected it and said they wanted to stay here as a form of protest because they were ignored, as a result, the kingdom was destroyed and replaced with a new kingdom that cares more for its people, even so, everyone here already likes the city and says that forever will continue to be here and create a ban for anyone who lives here to get out of this place... I was also assigned to keep the ban well preserved."

"So that's it, but I want to ask for an exception for one person."

Ladolfo smiled as if he would get a good offer.

Ladolfo is a guard from outside parties therefore he is not directly involved with the rules in this place.

"I will finish off all the monsters that attacked this city before, exchanged for the freedom of one person."
