The Real Examination

It has been 3 days that Gaby returned to sleep in Jenny's room with the reason that she wanted to prepare for the school exam on Monday.

On Sunday afternoon Jonathan left for 5 days. The man was even just saying goodbye and not giving hugs and kisses to encourage Gaby.

“Tumben you came ? Want to protest because Nathan has to get out of town when you test?” ledek Om Sofian when he met Gaby in the living room of his house.

“Ngapain protest ? Om forgot that Gaby is always alone?” Om Sofian laughed while nodding.

“Home really quiet, Om ?”

“Yet again went with Lili and Hendra staying at her mom's house. Later tonight new home.”

Gaby nodded with a smile then took out the brown envelope she was carrying. Om Sofian grabbed it and pulled out the documents inside.

“What does Gaby mean ?” asked Om Sofian with a surprised face while reading the writing on paper.

“The letter was prepared by Mas Nathan right at the time we were newly married complete with his signature. At that time Gaby did not want to sign it because the situation Gaby faced did not allow to release Mas Nathan. Gaby is convinced that Papi and Om know the real problem, Jonathan never tried to rape Gaby.”

“It's only been a year and you've been willing to part with Nathan ? You already know the consequences.”

“Papi said before he died that Mas Nathan hurt Gaby so Om Sofian can help untie the bond between us. So it's time for Gaby to ask for help on Sofian.”

“Why is this sudden ?”

Gaby sighed before telling her the matter that was going on between her and Jonathan.

“Gaby was willing to ignore all of Mas Nathan's demeanor and his lies but upon hearing for himself the reason when we met at the restaurant, Gaby decided to let go. Gaby is 18 years old next week and a few months into college. Gaby promised to go to college while working at the company.”

“Don't be in a hurry to make a decision. Aren't you trying to talk directly to Nathan ? It's possible that this is all just intermezzo because of the condition of the company that is experiencing a lot of interference.”

“Since the beginning Gaby was wrong to trap Mas Nathan to marry Gaby when it was clear he confirmed that his heart still loves Maya very much. His statement of love is only because he is used to living together but not real love. Gaby realized that the decision Gaby took was very selfish and made Mas Nathan even tormented. Please let Gaby make her own decision, Om. Don't let Gaby live in regret like Papi.”

Om Sofian fell silent, took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. He put the document back in the envelope.

“Please wait a minute, Om will talk to Jonathan first. At least let Om make sure about his attitude to you.”

“So Om does not want to take care of this divorce letter ?”

“Give Om talk time with Jonathan. Right now you focus on facing the final test.”

Gaby sighed, her face looking disappointed as Om Sofian was still trying to mend his relationship with Jonathan. Gaby's wounded heart is hard to forget Jonathan's words plus his guilt for being selfish.

”Then Gaby comes home first, Om.”

Sofian nodded and escorted Gaby to the gate. As usual, the girl came with her motorbike matic.

“Why ?” mimi asked when she left class after taking the second day of the exam.

“Most husbands are busy and forget to encourage. Stay tomorrow doang, no problem husband forget reply wa,” ledek Joni who suddenly appeared behind them.

“Cowok kepo !” grouse Mimi hit Joni laughing on the shoulder.

Raina joins in and with Joni there is Danu and Bimbim.

“Live home ?” mimi asked as they reached the first floor. “Or want to eat first ? Tomorrow will stay mathematics, learn not to learn just as dizzy, just guess and hope Goddess Fortuna comes.”

“Well it knows,” says Raina while chuckling.

All five stopped when they saw Jihan standing near the road to the motor park.

“I want to talk !” he stared hard at Gaby.

“We're coming,” whispered Mimi.

“No need to kepo. It's a family affair, so you don't have to be so caring,”.

Gaby gestures that she will comply with Jihan's request and asks her five friends to let her go.

“Be careful,” order Raina.

“Press my number if anything, Gab,” timpal Danu.

Gaby nodded with a smile. He rushes to put on his helmet and turns on his motorbike, following Jihan's car which starts leaving the school parking lot.

It takes 15 minutes to get to the destination. Gaby frowned as she saw Maya sitting at one of the tables, waiting for the arrival of the two of them.

“Sactually who wants to talk Jihan or Bu Maya?” tanya Gaby held onto the arm of Jihan who was walking in front of her.

“There is no point in talking to people who usually only threaten Mamiku,” sniffed Jihan while stomping Gaby's hand violently.

Gaby sighed. Her heart is reluctant to meet Maya let alone sit at a table and talk about Jonathan.

“What to discuss ?” gaby asked as he sat down at a table with Jihan and Maya. She refused Maya's offer to order a drink.

“Jojo has proposed to me.”

Gaby's eyes were puffed up when she saw a small diamond-eyed ring embedded in Maya's ring finger.

”Please do not hinder your divorce proceedings. I'm not sure Jojo talked to you about it because he suddenly had to go to Singapore.”

Gaby tried to calm down when her heart beat was not because Maya also knew all the activities of her husband.

”After his work is done, I will take him to see my parents. I purposely told you not to be too surprised when Jojo asked you to sign your divorce papers.”

Gaby smiled thinly and ventured into a look with Maya who looked arrogant. He looked at his ring with a smile.

“As long as you are not officially married, Jonathan is still my husband and your relationship is just an affair. Do not be too confident to act further because I can report your relationship to the authorities. Don't be too sure with just a ring. Supposedly as an experienced adult woman, Bu Maya will rethink to accept Jonathan. He who adores Mom and says his love is sincere finally turns to me just because every night we spend passionate nights. Now Joanthan wants to go back to Mom just because she faces a lot of pressure at work. Are you sure you can make it last while facing new problems after you're together ?” teased Gaby with a cynical smile.

”I don't care about your story,” says Maya with equally cynical face.

“Jonathan already felt how his life suffered so much while away from me, that's why he chose to come back to me.”

“Then there is no point in us extending this conversation,” Gaby moved out of her chair. “It feels impatient to wait for the end of this story.”

Gaby leaves the two women laughing happily at the suffering of the high school girl. They discover that Gaby is devastated by the reality she has to face.

”I feel so happy to see the snot boy refrain from crying. Thank you for helping to relieve my heartache.”

“He really is a boy like Jojo said, so easy to believe just by looking at this ring. I'm happy because Jojo will definitely make it easier to get her to approve their divorce.”
