For a few days Gabriela has been quieter. The school holidays have already started but Jonathan still has to come to school for some affairs with regards to the new school year.

Which makes Gabriela a little worried because during the week anyway, Jonathan always come home at night, sometimes past dinner at home.

The shadow of Maya and Jonathan embracing makes Gabriela uncomfortable and a bit hurt even though she knows that Jonathan never considered her a wife and their marriage was just a contract.

 

“Why you ? Kangen with husband ?” mama asked as she stroked the head of her little daughter-in-law as the two of them were sitting watching television.

 

“Nggak Ma, just like to join because it has entered a long holiday. Can I work during the holidays, Ma ?”

 

“Work ? You lack money?”

 

“Eh is not due to lack of money, Ma,” Gabriela hastily moved both her hands. “Only to fill free time during holidays. So far remittances from papi have been more than enough.”

 

“Jonathan never give you pocket money?” ask Mama with a frown.

 

Feeling mispronounced, Gabriela laughed awkwardly, not ready to give the real answer but also unwilling to lie to mama.

 

“No need, Ma. I still have savings and every month Papi still sends pocket money.”

 

“Let's Mama say same Nathan. You are his wife, it is appropriate that he provides you with a minimum of pocket money for you.”

 

“But Mr. Na.. uh I mean Mas Nathan has met all household needs right, Ma. My needs in this house have been met and Mas Nathan never complained if I had to increase expenses because I have a wife.”

 

Mama smiled faintly, it turned out that Gabriela was a young girl who was beyond her expectations. Despite being born and living in a wealthy family, but his nature and character are far from spoiled and arrogant.

 

“You want a vacation to Semarang ? So this time Jenny does not have to go back to Jakarta.”

 

“Mau, Mom. I haven't been on vacation in a long time, ” Gabriela said excitedly.

 

“Unfortunately you guys never vacation together every year ?” mama Hani frowned again.

 

“Last time I passed SD, Ma. Papi took our family to Singapore and allowed me to shop for school there because I could rank. After that usually Mama Gina go on vacation just take Kak Jihan and Lisa while Papi is busy with his work.”

 

Mama rubbed Gabriela's head with affection and a maternal smile. It was sad to hear the story of Anna's daughter, her best friend, who turned out to be far from happy.

 

“When do we go to her sister Jenny's place, Ma ?”

 

“Should be next week Nathan's been off for 2 weeks. We'll talk to Nathan about this plan.”

 

Gabriela nodded. The look on her face implied happiness that made Mama Hani's heart even sadder.

Dinner on Saturday is over. There was no date or dinner outside for Gabriela let alone Nathan just coming home around 6pm with a tired-looking face.

Gabriela straightened out the dining table while Mama and Jonathan were still sitting there.

 

 

“But this is Gaby's first holiday with our family. Usually you only enter a week after your students take off class, why this time there is no holiday ?”

 

Gabriela did not dare to return to the dining table. He was busy tidying up the remaining food and then washing dishes and other furniture.

His mind and heart fretted over the fact that Jonathan's recent flurry was not due to work but that the man was rearranging his relationship with Maya.

It feels like Gabriela wants to forget her feelings for Jonathan, but their togetherness because of staying at home makes it difficult for her to hold back her love for Jonathan.

“You can go alone with Mama ?”

“Aaww !”

Gabriela was shocked when she heard Jonathan's voice behind her until a washed-up knife hurt her hand.

Jonathan, who saw blood dripping in the dishwasher, hurriedly approached. Gabriela's bloody hands were washed under the water to clean the foam covering her hands.

“Be careful when you hold a knife,” Jonathan scolds,

“Bapak surprised me. No sound, know the voice of the Father is behind me,” said Gabriela with a pouting face.

“You must be daydreaming again so shocked when you hear my voice.”

Mama Hani, who saw her son holding Gabriela's hand, walked into the kitchen. He just smiled and hoped that the relationship would improve.

“I do not daydream Mr.,” said Gabriela with ketus, Jonathan frowned dshinya.

“You just said what ?”

“I said I no longer daydream Mr !” gabriela firmly with anxiety.

Jonathan laughed and flicked Gabriela's forehead while one hand was still clutching the girl's injured fingers.

“I didn't say that you were daydreaming me, just saying that you must be daydreaming.”

Gabriela threw open with her face starting to blush, embarrassed because it turns out she mispronounced the sentence.

“Don't tell me you started falling in love with me and secretly like to think of me ?“ Jonathan bent his body until their faces were close together.

His eyes narrowed making Gabriela even more misbehaved so he did not dare to look directly at her.

“Do not origin nebak !” ketus Gabriela's. “I have told you that my confession at that time was just pretending so that you want to marry me.”

Jonathan straightened his posture and laughed. It was clear that Gabriela was lying.

“Let's treat your wounds.” Jonathan takes Gabriela to sit at the dinner table and picks up the medicine box.

Already 2 days Gabriela is in the city of Semarang, staying at a hotel booked by Jonathan until the next week.

GABRIEL :

Did you order the hotel wrong ? Too fancy and definitely expensive. Don't you love if you can't save ?

JONATHAN

Instead of me paying people to accompany Mama better money I use for hotel expenses, wife contracts ⁇ ️

Gabriela took a deep breath to endure the pain and was disappointed that in Jonathan's eyes she was only a contract wife.

Meanwhile, in Jakarta, Jonathan was smiling himself as he read Gabriela's message and saw the photo that Mama sent yesterday while on the train. Gabriela was so happy because this opportunity was her first experience.

“Why smile-smile yourself ?”

“It looks like Gaby is upset with me again, Pi for setting up such a luxurious hotel for her. Waste,” Jonathan said while chuckling.

“You didn't say Papi booked the hotel, did you ?”

”Faith, Pi. I also did not say that I was studying with Papi at the company.”

”Sometimes Papi misses his nagging when he disagrees with Papi's decision. His facial expression was cute, still childish. Papi had regretted because often did not have time for him.”

“That has passed cannot be repeated, Pi. But in the future, Papi can take advantage of every opportunity with Gaby. Including our plans to catch up with Gaby Thursday the day after tomorrow.”

“Papi is sure to trust Gaby to you because Papi sees that you can make her happy.”

I'm sorry for being so good at the show, Pi. All this I do is to make many people happy even though my heart is suffering. One thing for sure I can promise you: Gaby has grown into a strong, independent woman the moment I let go.

Jonathan smiled as he walked beside Papi Hendri towards the meeting room to be introduced as Gabriela's husband. By law, Jonathan will be interim chairman until Gabriela is old enough to accept the baton as Company Leader.
