"Forget the past, there is a future still waiting. Don't stop for__" Lewis looked fixedly at Caroline.
"For what, Lewis?"
"Releasing the former sincerely" he said.
Caroline laughed at what Lewis thought was very funny. Fortunately, their order came soon, otherwise Caroline would have kept laughing with Lewis's jokes. The man was very comforting to her. For a moment he forgot his former son of a bitch.
"Eat first. We don't have long here. Until the city can be very late" Lewis said.
They immediately finished off a plate of special fried rice and a cup of Cappuccino. Lewis ordered two bottles of mineral water.
After everything was done, Lewis had Caroline wait for him in the car, while he would pay for all his orders.
"Please wait in the car. I'm going to the cashier first."
"Well, I've been asking for a ride, fed as well" Caroline joked. The girl's smile could always calm Lewis down.
"No problem, Miss."
In about five minutes, Lewis was back in his car. He opened the door for Caroline. The girl felt very respected when she was with Lewis.
"Go away?" ask Lewis.
"Yes, Lewis. I miss my soft room. I want to go to bed soon so that tomorrow all reality starts to change" he said.
Lewis was actually very curious about Caroline. The girl seemed to be harboring a very complicated matter. However, Lewis must still maintain his attitude to not interfere in the affairs of others if not asked for an opinion. Although a glimpse can be seen from the gurgle of Caroline who feel uncomfortable.
"Carol, it's still a few hours away. Can you name your home address? So I can take you there."
I can't stop by the Austin Group to pick up a car. Tomorrow I'll stop by and give Mr. Darius a letter of resignation.
"Housing KL, block A, Number seventeen" he replied.
"alright. If you are sleepy, go to sleep. Don't worry about me. I'm a good man" he said.
Lewis was right, Caroline was getting sleepy. The girl began to close her eyes and did not realize that Lewis would occasionally steal a glance at her. Getting too late, that's all he didn't realize.
Lewis let the girl sleep. As per the estimated time, his car began to enter the housing in question. Right in front of number seventeen A, Lewis stopped his car. He came out for a moment to hit the bell in the house.
It was a long time ago that a middle-aged woman came out and saw Lewis.
"What's up, son?" ask the woman.
"I'm here to drive Caroline, Auntie. He fell asleep in the car" Lewis said.
The middle-aged woman was somewhat surprised by her daughter. He stared fixedly at the man's eye bead.
Did something happen to Caroline? Why don't I know this guy? But his face was very similar to William's. So where's Caroline's car?
"Wake up, son. Let her enter by herself" said the middle-aged woman.
"Good, Auntie." Lewis returned to the car and tried to wake the girl up.
"Hey, wake. It's in front of your house" Lewis said softly.
Caroline slowly opened her eyes. He's been sleeping in Lewis' car for too long.
"Mama?" Caroline was a little surprised. He had not expected that Lewis had pressed down on his doorbell and had his mother awake on this very late night.
Lewis pulls the suitcase out of the trunk of his car and delivers it to Caroline. He immediately nodded at them.
"I'm sorry, Aunt and Caroline, I said goodbye" he said.
"Thank you, Lewis" Caroline said.
"Thank you, son. Have delivered my daughter. Be careful on the road" said Mama Veronica.
"Together, Aunt."
After Lewis's departure, Veronica and Caroline break into his house. Her mother kept a myriad of questions for her only daughter.
They were in the middle room. Veronica stopped her daughter. He did not want his curiosity to make him unable to sleep well.
"Who's that guy, Carol? You have no special relationship with him, do you? Is he a good guy?" ask Mama.
Veronica knew that her daughter was going to the top because of work. She knew that Caroline was going with William, the man she loved all the time. But tonight Veronica finds her daughter coming home with another man. Veronica was getting worried for her daughter.
"Tomorrow I will resign from the Austin Group, Ma" Caroline replied. The middle-aged woman was so shocked that some of her questions went unanswered, instead her daughter said something else.
"Does this have anything to do with this guy?" search Mama.
"No, Ma" answered Caroline.
Mama doesn't need to know my problem with William. Most importantly, I can get out of his company first.
"Is there anything that Mama doesn't know? Say it! Don't make your mama curious" asked Veronica.
"Ma, Caroline wants to move to work. All this time, Caroline's been fighting very hard in Mr. Darius' company. Now, Caroline wants to find a new atmosphere" she told a lie. Though it is very clear if William will take away his holiness.
"This fast?" Her mother still couldn't believe it.
"Yes, Ma. There's a new company that's better than the Austin Group and I'm going to get in there, but I'm waiting for my resign approval to be accepted."
It would have been very difficult to get out of the Austin Group if it had faced Mr. Darius, but Caroline could not give up. The decision is round. He does not want his job to be uncomfortable because of William's existence.
"Are you sure of this decision? Do not let you regret for making a hasty decision. It's your choice and Mama won't ban it" Veronica said.
"Thank you, Ma. I'm going to keep fighting to keep our kitchen going as usual. Mama don't worry, do you?"
Caroline went into her room. She helped her mother to bring her suitcase. Actually Caroline had rejected it, but the woman was forced to feel sorry to see Caroline work alone until she had just returned home this late.
"Ma, pray for me, huh?" caroline said when she got to her room.
"Every day Mama's been praying for you, son. Is there a problem you're hiding from your mom? Don't be alone, son. Share with Mama. We face it together" he said.
Caroline is reluctant to talk about William's behavior this afternoon. She didn't want her mother to be more shocked at the man who helped her life all along. However, William has contributed to his life.
"Nothing, Ma. I'm fine." Caroline opens the closet and picks up a change of clothes for tonight. He wanted to burn the clothes he was wearing immediately. He still remembered William's very sudden treatment.
The middle-aged woman looked at her daughter's eyes which implied a deep sense of disappointment. I don't know, who was that girl disappointed in? There seems to be a strange problem that he does not want to share with her. Despite that, Veronica did not dare to force him anymore. Let Caroline solve the problem in her own way.
