The Rich Widow

The Rich Widow
The victory of Amara

In another room, in the hotel.

Andrew was looking at a very large screen. A screen that displays the actions of the participants in the race. Andrew suddenly fell silent after realizing who was standing on stage. A little girl he accidentally hit a few days ago.

"Mara ...." Andrew smiled at the little girl.

"Do you know this boy?" ask Mr. Danu who has always been loyal to accompany him.

"Yes, Sir. He was the little boy I accidentally bumped into a few days ago."

"really? Hmmm, it looks like he will be the winner in the race this time, sir. Just look at his appearance" said Mr. Danu.

"Hopefully. I really hope he wins" Andrew said.

"If Mr. Andrew wants to, I can ask the judges there to win this child." Mr. Danu gave advice.

Andrew shook his head. "No need, sir. All the decisions I've made to the jury and I don't want to interfere with that. Let him fight just like the other participants" Andrew said.

Mr. Danu nodded slowly. "All right then."

Andrew suddenly got up from his sitting position. He walked to the door of the room and then came out. The curious Mr. Danu, immediately followed his big boss from behind.

"Where exactly is Mr Andrew going?" muttered.

Mr. Danu continued to follow Andrew who was walking towards the ground floor. Where the race is taking place. Andrew entered the room and mingled with the audience as well as the families of the participants.

Andrew looked around the room until the two neutrals stopped on the figure of Nadira who was waiting for Amara under the stage.

"That's it!"

He smiled and looked at the woman without blinking a single bit. Mr. Danu had caught the moment and it managed to make him more curious.

"Who is that woman? Why is Mr. Andrew suddenly so excited. Though previously he was so lazy to attend this race event," muttered Mr. Danu in his heart while watching Nadira from a distance.

Andrew's presence at that place, had become the center of attention of the audience and the families of the participants. Therefore, Andrew was forced to stay away from the crowd and find a safer place.

"Preferably sir just sit here. It seems that the place is not safe for you, sir" said Mr. Danu as he handed over a chair for Andrew to sit in.

Andrew chuckled softly at his assistant and landed his butt in the chair.

Time kept turning and the race was almost over. Only just a few more participants to be assessed by the judges.

Andrew was still in one corner of the room while continuing to pay attention to the togetherness of Nadira and Amara. Until finally the awaited moment arrived. Where the judges have finished giving an assessment to all participants of the race.

The decision of the judges is already in the hands of the host who hosted the event. The tall man stood on the stage with a face as crisp as he held a paper bearing the names of the winners of the race.

"Wow, the competition of the participants is really tight, yes! Until the judges look confused to determine who will be the winner in this race. All right, I don't want to mince words anymore. I'll announce whoever wins ...."

The ceremony of the host managed to make all participants and their families anxious. So did Nadira and Laras who really hope Amara to be one of the three names that will be mentioned by the man.

Nadira took a long breath. He was ready with the outcome of that race. She hugged Amara tightly and kissed her little cheek.

"If we lose, we can still take part in various other races. Amara don't be sad, yeah!" said Nadira.

While Laras is still optimistic that the name Amara will be mentioned after this. So did Andrew who kept watching them from a distance. He is very confident that Amara will win the first championship.

Nadira sat on a chair holding Amara. He seemed resigned and did not want to hope for anything else in the race.

"Okay, okay. You all must be curious, right, who will be the first winner in this race? All right then let's call it ...." The host was silent for a moment while smiling broadly at the spectators as well as the tense participants below.

"The first run in the race this time fell on ... Amara Qirani with participant number 012!" the host clapped his hands.

"Marrata!" nadira's helpless cry held back her must.

"Well, I said, Nad! That's why you should be optimistic that Amara will succeed!" chirp Laras who is no less happy.

"Yes, you're right. Thank you, Ma'am."

"Here, hurry! They've been waiting for Amara" said Laras later as he led the little Amara to the stage.

The sound of cheers and applause broke out in the room. Including Andrew, the man reflexes 'standing applause' to welcome the victory of the little Amara.

"Finally!" murmured Andrew with a satisfied smile.

Danu approached Andrew and stood beside him. "Congratulations, Sir. Finally the little girl won this race," said Mr. Danu who was happy to see Andrew's reaction at the time.

Andrew glanced at Mr. Danu, still with a smile floating on his face. "Let me give you the grand prize for the little girl."

Mr. Danu had linked his two eyebrows in wonder. Whereas previously Andrew had been asked to give a prize to the main winner in this race. However, the man insisted on rejecting him and asked Mr. Danu to represent him.

However, now he changed his mind and volunteered to come forward and give the gift to Amara. Mr. Danu can only nod and agree to the wishes of his big boss.

The second and third winners have received their prizes awarded directly by the selected judges. Now only Amara is still standing there waiting for his gift.

"For the first winner, the prize will be handed over directly by the leader of the company hosting this race. Let us welcome you, Mr Andrew Alvendra Putra! Mr. Andrew, welcome."

"A-Andrew?" nadira squealed with round eyes after hearing the name mentioned.

"Who, Nad? You know that guy?" ask Laras who was curious again.

"Y-yes, Ma'am. That man who accidentally hit Amara yesterday. Oh yeah, God! I didn't expect that he was the leader of the company that organized this race. May the victory of Amara not intervene from him. If true, then I will return the reward!" Nadira.

"Bab, Nadira. Don't be," between the barrels.
