The Rich Widow

The Rich Widow
Bahri Juragan

The Juragan Bahri residence.

The middle-aged man with a fat and potbellied stature was busy paying attention to a ID card he was holding.

"So your name, Arman?" juragan Bahri asked as he glanced at Arman with a cynical face.

"Yes, Nurse." Arman nodded quickly while smiling.

"Hmmm ...." The man muttered as he watched Arman closely. "Do you know how the system borrows money to me?"

"Yes, Juragan. Both of your men have informed me and I have agreed to the system" replied Arman steadily.

The middle-aged man nodded slowly. "So, how much do you need?"

"Not much, Juragan. Only 5 million" said Arman steadily.

"5 million, that means you have to give it back to me for 10 million. Excluding the weekly money you had to deposit to me until you could pay off that 10 million. How's it?" Juragan Bahri grinned at Arman.

Arman was silent for a moment while thinking hard. Because in a very desperate condition, Arman was forced to agree. "Yes, Juragan. I agree," he answered.

Juragan Bahri laughed. He then grabbed some money from his pocket. After calculating the amount of money, Juragan Bahri immediately put the money on the table in front of him.

"This is the money, 5 million. Now count again" said Juragan Bahri.

Arman immediately grabbed the amount of money that was on the table so enthusiastically. His hands shook and his face continued to smile, as if he was finding the right solution to his problem.

Arman counted one by one the bills and after a few minutes, he again smiled with relief. "Thank you, Juragan. The number is right," said Arman.

"Good! And remember this week you have to deposit that weekly money" Juragan Bahri said.

"Yes, Juragan. Of course," replied Arman with such confidence.

After getting the money, Arman rushed back to his house. A simple house that is a relic of Nadira's late parents.

"Dira! Amara! Where are you guys?" call Arman so eagerly to call his wife and daughter.

However, until Arman called many times, no word was heard from the two beloved women. Arman looked for Nadira and Amara in all the rooms in the modest house and they were not there.

"Where are they?" arman muttered.

Arman sat in the front room waiting for Nadira and Amara to arrive. Not long after, a small step was heard from Amara from the front porch. He immediately turned his head and it turned out to be true, Nadira and Amara had just arrived at their residence.

"Dad!" call Amara while running towards Arman.

"Eh, Honey. Where are you from?" asked Arman while holding Amara and hugging her tiny body.

"We're from a neighbor's house, Mas. I helped clean their house and the results were good for Amara's snacks" replied Nadira with a smile looking at Arman. The beautiful face of the woman looked tired and her sweat was still visible.

Arman approached Nadira then wiped his wife's sweat gently. "I'm sorry that I'm not taking care of the two of you" he said.

"It's okay, Mom. I'm sincere, really."

Arman grabs Nadira's hand and takes her to sit in the plastic chair. He smiled and handed over some of the money he had received from the Bahri court to Nadira.

"This is the money, dear Dira. Now you can buy diapers and milk for Amara. And don't forget, buy all of our depleted necessities."

Nadira scrunched up both of his eyebrows. "Where's this money, my dear? How, so much?" nadira asked confusedly.

Arman breathed a heavy breath. There was no way he would have told Nadira the truth about where he got the money. By force, Arman chose to lie.

"Then, how do we get it back, Mom? This money is very large," said Nadira.

"You don't have to worry, Dira. He said, we can give it back if we have the money" said Arman who finally managed to calm the woman.

"Oh, thank goodness then. Apparently there are still good people who are willing to help us yes, Mas. May God repay all his kindness" said Nadira, smiling with relief.

"Amin" said Arman.

That day Nadira shopping a lot for his kitchen needs. Same for Amara's milk and diapers. Not to forget, he also began repaying his outstanding debts in stalls near his home.

"Well, Dira. You have a lot of money, huh? Buy eggs up to this much," teased one of the stall owners located not far from Nadira's house.

Nadira looked shy. "Actually not really, Mom."

A few days later.

"This is the money, Juragan." Arman handed over some money to pay for the weekly installments as requested by Juragan Bahri.

Juragan Bahri smiled as he nodded his head. "Good-good! Hopefully in the weeks ahead, you'll stay like this, Arman."

"Amin, Nurse. Hopefully in a few days I can find a new job in order to pay off all my debts to Juragan," replied Arman.

"Yes. It'd better be."

"Ehm, I'm sorry, Juragan. Thank you," said Arman as he left the man's residence.

"Yes, yeah!"

Juragan Bahri and his two men fell silent while watching Arman who stepped further and further away from them.

"Juragan, we have good news for you. It's about Arman" said one of Juragan Bahri's men with a sneaky grin.

"What's that?" The middle-aged man started to get curious.

"It turns out Arman has a very beautiful wife. Her body was tiny and her skin was white, milky white, Juragan!" keep the guy.

"Yes, Juragan. That woman is really beautiful and she's the type of Juragan's choice" the other said.

Juragan Bahri smiled obliquely as he stroked his thick beard. "really that? Does he have a child?"

"Already, Juragan. A 2-year-old girl. Beautiful, just like his mother" said the man again.

Juragan Bahri smiled broadly. "No problem. But, you're serious, aren't women as beautiful as the women of my dreams?"

"Yes, Juragan. Sure was! Where ever did we dare to lie to the Juragan."

The man grabbed his phone and then stretched it out in front of the man. "Look, Juragan. Here's a picture of the woman with her daughter. Beautiful, right?"

Juragan Bahri grabbed the phone and then noticed a photo of Nadira with Amara that was deliberately taken by his men.

"Ck tsk, really beautiful! What's this woman's name?"

"Nadira, Nurse."

"Nadira? Hmmm, very pretty, as pretty as the person." Juragan Bahri again sneered cunningly.
