45. The next Dragon Knight

The atmosphere of the black knight training ground looked extremely awkward. Kyle had been avoiding me ever since I interfered in the match, whereas the monk and Gary had still not said a word since that day.

After what happened since yesterday, now they are much more focused. There was no more friendly conversation between us. No more talks after our special training session. We came to Master K's lesson and then returned to the dormitory for the night without doing anything else.

Gary still maintained the number one ranking, but now that he had seen the advantage of what he had learned in black knight training, he had begun to put in more effort in training. He even started using the techniques he learned in his ranking matches.

He also no longer played around with his opponents, now he would finish most of them in the first few strikes.

Ray also learned a new lesson from that day on, it seems like Ray spent too much time interacting with humanity over the years, it had made his heart grow softer making him lose focus from his original goal.

That day was already a reminder of how friendly the humans were.

After our basic and special training sessions ended, Wilfred came to greet the four of us inside the mansion.

"It's nice to see you all again, unfortunately I don't have much time to chat today, because I'm here on behalf of the elders. Kyle, Ray, please follow me."

"Didn't you need us too?" ask Gary.

"I'm afraid this matter only concerns them for now."

We followed Wilfred to the middle of the academy he took us to one of the top rooms of the tower. The room was decorated with paintings and monuments of dragon knights, in the middle of the room was a huge meeting table. At the end of the table stood the four main knights. Delbert, Bernardo, lord K and Miss Rose who are the green knight heads.

"You two please sit down." Wilfred gestured us towards one of the chairs at the table.

Ray sat down with Kyle while we waited patiently for further instructions. A few moments passed and the door we entered opened again. Three students enter the room, one of them is Ian, the other two are boys who appear to be identical twins. Nothing distinguishes them from each other.

Looking around the room, we realized that there was one thing we all had in common, and that was our red hair. The five of us had gathered in the room for some reason and we all knew it.

Wilfred went to one of the chairs, he had a serious expression on his face. Which means it's an important issue.

"Well I won't mince words anymore, I know you are confused as to why you were brought here, the five of you have been brought here because of the prophecy told fifteen years ago. The prophecy given by the god states that our land will be saved by a red-haired child."

The other four began to look at each other in shock, Ray already had a little knowledge of this matter a long time ago, but Ray was surprised that they decided to tell us about this.

Ray decides to ignore the problem and not take it too seriously because Ray truly believes they have made a mistake, because Ray's hair that was originally black turned red and even now there are still some strands of black hair.

Wilfred continued, "So in searching for the boy mentioned in the prophecy, we sent knights to scour the entire land, they found ten children all looking the same age."

"I see the confusion on your faces, the five of you have no magic abilities, while the other five children have magic. That's why you're placed in Avrion's academy, while they're placed in Roland's academy."

"So one of us will save the world" Kyle said excitedly.

I could feel that Delbert's reaction and Rose's reaction changed after hearing Kyle say this. It was almost like they were angry to hear that.

Looks like Wilfred is hiding something from us, probably not telling us the whole prophecy.

Behind Wilfred, illusory magic began to depict the five dragon knights.

"This is why I called all of you here today, we want to recreate the legacy of our founders, just like the dragon knights of the past who have saved us from the Shadow Beast, he said, now this task will fall into your hands."

Kyle now stood up from his chair, unable to contain his excitement.

"You mean.."

"That's right, the five of you will be the new dragon knights of the Avrion academy, but this means you will have to put in even more effort. In doing basic training and special training, you will now receive additional training as dragon knights."

They were very happy to hear that good news, after all being a dragon knight was a great honor for the knights. Ray was delighted to be chosen as the next dragon knight, hopefully this will give him more information about the abilities of the dragon knights.

Wilfred explained to everyone where and when we would meet to do the rehearsal, but as we all left the room, Wilfred called Ray and told Ray to wait in the room.

When Wilfred entered the room he said

"Ray there's someone here coming to see you."

Behind Wilfred was a woman I knew well, she still looked as holy as ever. The first person to hug me. That was my mom.

My mother had tears on her face, but I could feel that these were not tears of happiness.

"What's wrong mom?."

As he slowly raised his head, he managed to mutter a few words to me.

"your father."
