The Reincarnation of the Red Dragon

The Reincarnation of the Red Dragon
33. Test starts

We walked through a mile-long passageway until we finally reached the school's training ground. There was only one entrance and exit, which was the passage we passed.

The training ground leads to the outside which is a large open field with many different props, such as a practice doll, archery field, and so on. The field was surrounded by a grandstand that covered each side, even if I didn't know it well I would have thought that this was a colosseum.

This field looked quite full, many knights came to watch the new students doing the exam. Across the entrance at the other end of the field was a table where six elders were seated accompanied by a black knight by his side.

The field has been divided into five different sections. Each piece contained different equipment and had a knight trainer ready to standby. Wilfred, Barbadoes and Delbert were there, but I didn't recognize the other two.

We were standing right in front of the entrance, the three hundred students were waiting nervously. A knight came out carrying a strange machine that had crystals inside. The knight pressed a button on the machine and a hologram to assess the test appeared. On the other hand similar machines were also placed in front of the elders.

"Alright, the first test is The gem of truth, you will be called out gradually one by one." Lancy took to the stage to show the participants and explain what to do. We can all see it clearly on the machine screen.

In front of Lancy was a huge black stone of the same size as her.

"You should all try to push the stone from one side to the other, if you can't push this stone you can use these gloves. You'll get two tries, one with your bare hands and the other with your gloves. These gloves have been added with magic to increase your power."

Lancy then proceeded to give a demonstration, while using all her might and sweat running down her face, she managed to push the stone from one side to the other. The students applauded with his demonstration.

"Now let's see, who should go first, ah you there what's your name?"

Lancy's finger pointed at me. "Ray's."

I just stared at him without giving an answer, because I knew the reason why he chose me.

"Based on brash knights, you must answer those of higher rank with respect." Lancy.

Ray replied. "I only respect those who deserve respect."

Anger appeared on Lancy's face but she suddenly became calm and spoke.

"By using my power as an administrator for this test, I refused Ray's knight to take this test. I hope this will be a lesson for all of you to respect your superiors."

I wanted to jump and attack him, but I was not the right time. I didn't really care about the test in the first half.

If I became a red sash, it would give me more time to study and train myself.

Whereas if I became a white sash I would be forced to do additional classes, my free time would be lost and only have less time to hunt. Although additional training will also be beneficial.

I didn't attack him because this would help me so that I wouldn't have to take the trouble to fake the test results.

If I were to be the first it would be difficult for me to gauge how good the other students were. I can't test my strength after absorbing the crystal stone, because it will be difficult to control my current strength. If I finish the test easily, more and more people will pay attention to me.

After this scene, many students were disregarding Lancy anymore. I'll just watch the other knights and see how they perform. Most students cannot move a stone at all without the help of gloves. The gloves helped them but still could not move the stone to the other side.

Gary managed to move the stone to the other side with all his strength until he finally fainted from using too much force.

The student who had the best achievement was Ian, he managed to lift the chunk of stone and take it across. What impressed many students was Slyvia who managed to move the stone slightly without using gloves.

Monk managed to move the stone only while wearing gloves.

The first test had ended with everyone participating other than Ray. We move to the next stage where Wilfred is the test. Next to him was a man wearing a robe and a hood covering his face.

Wilfred came forward to explain the next test to the students.

"This test, called The hell of fire, is used to determine your will and strength of mind. The man next to me is a magician from Roland academy.

There were several magical beasts that were capable of giving off illusions. This witch beside me will give you the illusion of fire. For every minute you spend in the real world is worth an hour in illusion. Your results will be determined by how long you can survive under the illusion of being burned alive."

This time the test was done from the order of the scores. Since I didn't do the first test, I got the lowest score that got me the last turn.

All my roommates did a good test, Slyvia achieved the best score of everyone. He managed to survive under the illusion for a full five minutes. Most people only manage a few seconds the highest is a minute or so.

Finally it was my turn, I headed to the stage with a plan to reach about 20 seconds, this was an average score.

I don't want to do my best but at the same time, I don't want to do my worst either. Yellow or blue ratings are the perfect choice for me, it also won't attract too much attention.

I arrived on the stage and the witch placed her hands on my head. The witch shouted a few words and images of illusions began to appear in my head. What appeared was not fire, it was a gigantic red dragon.

A dragon that I know well, it was me. The shadow quickly disappeared and I opened my eyes in shock at the sight before me, seeing the witch had fallen to the floor.

"He was cursed, he was cursed, by Sen the Red Dragon!" The man screamed while wriggling his body on the floor.

Wilfred quickly asked a few knights on stage to escort the witch away.

The students started to talk.

"I know only bad luck will come from those with red hair."

"But it only happened to her, not the other red-haired children."

"Does this mean he failed the exam?"

I came down from the stage to Gary and asked him what was going on.

"I don't know, after the witch put her hands on your head and cast a spell, it only lasted a second and she suddenly fell down while sweating with fear as you can see" Gary said.

The only thing I thought was maybe the witch saw the illusion I saw.
