The Reincarnation of the Red Dragon

The Reincarnation of the Red Dragon
28. Big three

The sun rose quickly, I had to rush back to the camp before anyone realized I was not in the camp. I rushed through the swamp as fast as I could.

Using the dragon eye skill allowed me to choose the best path to make my journey back even faster.

I arrived at the camp and managed to sneak into the tent just before sunrise. I don't know how much time I have left. I closed my eyes and a few seconds later.

Teng.teng.

"Wake up you lazy people, it's time to move on!" shout Lanon.

My eyelids felt heavy as glued, my eye bags started to appear under my eyes. I only managed to close my eyes for a few seconds before hearing that beautiful voice.

Besides, I've been hunting all day. I really don't have the energy to do anything.

Gary woke up stretching his arms as if he had just gotten the best sleep of his life. For some reason, this scene bothers me.

"Wow what happened to you, did you see a ghost or something?" Gary saw my red eyes.

"I couldn't sleep last night."

We started packing things and continued our journey through the marshes. The swamp had a walkway made mostly of dirt and gravel, but it was very narrow. It was just enough to load the train cars. Surrounding it is surrounded by swamps.

While riding the train, I kept waking up while trying to fall asleep. It is not the most pleasant journey, as the road is full of mounds of pebbles.

The road became quite smooth for a while, so I managed to fall asleep for a while.

Suddenly, Lanon started shouting loudly. "Prepare for battle, we're under attack!"

Everyone quickly left the carriage and headed out towards the swamp. They form a circle with their backs facing the carriage. Fortunately the swamp was not too deep and muddy water started to enter their shoes. It made our movements slow and gave our enemies an advantage.

As I looked around me, I could see some students were terrified, trembling, most likely never fighting a magical beast before. While the others were excited and ready to prove themselves in front of Wilfried and the other knights.

On the other hand Wilfried looks very calm and moves back to the center of the circle as if to keep an eye on everyone. I'm so tired of staying up all night fighting those creatures that I can't count them anymore. I try to be my eyes to wake up.

I have used the dragon eye skill and seen the creatures around us are basic level beasts so I don't have to worry too much. I put down my sword and started heading back towards the carriage.

It's not worth wasting my precious time.

"What are you doing, we need to stay in formation" one student shouted at me.

"There are only basic level beasts, you don't need my help." I continued walking and leaned my back against one of the carriages observing everyone, similar to Wilfred.

"Let him, such a person would only get a red sash" said one of the knights.

"Maybe he's just scared"

It was a sharp-toothed worm, the group had been surrounded by about a hundred sharp-toothed worms.

While the sharp-toothed worm leaped towards Gary's face, he held his sword tighter and swung his sword at the worm. A second later the worm's body split in two.

As soon as another worm jumped towards him, he stepped back and cut horizontally, again the worm split in two.

"Did you see that? he defeated him in one strike!"

"He used such basic movements."

"Maybe he'll be a white sash." Said one of the knights.

The other students are still struggling. Most of them blocked and others used the opportunity to attack.

The worm began to use razor-sharp teeth and began to attack the weapons of the students. Some of them damaged their weapons which caused some students to throw away their weapons and kept the students from using weapons.

Knights were watching over the students, they were helping the struggling students. Wilfred moved his head to examine the students as if he was evaluating them all.

There were three students that he seemed to be focusing on more than the others. The first was Gary, he fought instinctively to attack the vital parts of the worm.

It was impressive because Gary didn't even have the dragon eye skill like me, maybe Gary was one of the talented kids.

The other student was a woman, Slyvia Heart, the opposite of Gary, who was carefully waiting and observing the movement patterns of the creature, attacked his enemy after successfully resisting the attack issued by the sharp-toothed worm. Although his attack was not strong, he used the safest route so as not to injure him.

The last was a muscular man with long red hair. A student whose name I did not know but I recognized him very well.

He was very strong, sometimes not using any weapons at all. He caught and tore the worm with his bare hands. Even more impressive was his ability to pay attention to the people around him, when other students were hit by the attack, he quickly intervened and helped him, sometimes he withstood attacks for them. Although his body was made of iron, scratches were visible on his body.

Wilfred paid close attention to the three, he also occasionally looked at me from time to time and I would yawn in response. He would only shake his head in disappointment.

Even though I said I liked Wilfred, it doesn't mean I'm here to please him. I was at the Avrion Academy for myself. To become stronger and learn about this world. I don't care what others think of me.

After thirty minutes had passed, the worms had been defeated. The students started walking back to the carriage with minor injuries all over its body. As they walked past me, they began to stare with hateful gazes.

"Why not join?" ask Gary.

"I'm too tired, besides you have a knight who protects you in case something goes wrong." I said while sitting on a wooden bench on the train.

While on the way, the other students couldn't stop talking about the top three, it was a nickname they made.

Gary, Slyvia, and Ian the redhead that I know his name thanks to them. They were talking about most likely they would become white sash bodyguards.

Gary could hear the others talking and it made his face flushed a little, while I wondered what was that white sash guard?
