35. Super Level Crystals

Slyvia was thinking hard about what had just happened. He expects Ray to do well in the exam. He probably thinks that Ray is someone special.

Anyone who could come out every day to hunt magical beasts was definitely a skilled person. Unless they're lying, but Ray doesn't seem like a person who likes to lie, and Ray even claims that he has hunted medium-level beasts.

Slyvia couldn't get those thoughts out of her head, so she decided to meet Gary and ask him some questions.

"Hey Gary, how strong do you think Ray is?"

And, Ian and Monk have a habit of staying together and when they see Slyvia going towards Gary decides to follow behind and listen to the conversation.

"Ray is very strong."

And the one who had heard the two speak could not help but laugh. After all, he had just seen Ray almost fail all four tests.

"Hahaha, have you seen the test results, I know Ray is your friend but you have to look with your own eyes."

Slyvia looked towards Dan with a sharp gaze. He quickly shut up, recalling the incident in the dormitory.

"That's why I wanted to ask you Gary, I thought Ray would do a good test. What makes you say he's strong."

Gary scratched his head like a monkey thinking hard.

"It's hard to say, I haven't fought with him in a long time."

"Maybe I can rearrange that question to make it easier for you. If you and Ray fight now, who's gonna win?"

"Last time I fought Ray, I won easily."

"But you still say he's strong." And interrupted again.

"There's something strange about him. I think if I fight him now the chance against me is only 10 percent. When we were kids, I was attacked by a mid-level black wolf. I thought I was going to die that day. Then Ray came and saved me."

"You have to make a reasonable story, not even many knights who have been training for a year here can defeat mid-level beasts by themselves," Dan said.

It was true that most people would find it hard to believe if one were to say that they defeated a mid-level ferocious beast at their present age. The fact that Gary told them when they were kids makes it hard to believe.

The rest of the group thought Gary was just exaggerating the story, maybe it was just a large Basic level wolf.

Slyvia thinks differently, she remembers back in the night where she caught Ray every night leaving the castle. He said he had defeated a medium-level ferocious beast before.

Although he kept this thought to himself, the coincidences that happened in the exam also worried him. A magician from the Roland academy knew her limits well when conducting tests, Sylvia found it hard to believe that the witch would make a mistake and cause a deviation of mana. And during the archery test, if a human tried to use his physical strength to break the bowstring it was almost impossible.

Delbert raised his sword and continued speaking.

"This sword was made using super-level beast crystals from fire birds."

Fire started to appear around the sword.

"Once you touch his sword, you must use Ki to ignite it, you must use the power of your will to do your best to conquer his fire."

Delbert showed us several times what he wanted us to do. After touching the sword, fire will appear on the blade, we then have to use our will power to control the fire in order to disappear.

Most students who take the test do well. The talented ones were able to make the flames completely extinguished while the others managed to make the flames dim. The task itself seemed quite simple compared to how many students achieved the task.

I got the last turn again, because I didn't get any marks on the previous test. When I went to get his sword, strange things started happening.

I turned towards Delbert showing him I was holding the sword with both hands but nothing happened.

Delbert had taken the sword from my hand and his eyes were wide open. He tried to stimulate his Ki flow into the sword but still, no flames appeared.

Actually right now I am very happy, I have obtained a super level treasure. I don't know why the System allowed me to take that crystal.

After what had happened, Delbert looked like he was about to strike me with that sword. Fortunately Wilfred who had been watching everything on screen instantly came to the fifth testing location.

They both whispered something to each other and ended the test there. Wilfred got off the stage in front of the students.

"You all did a good job on the test today. I'm proud you'll be knights of Avrion Academy. Please return to your rooms until you are summoned to the dining room, you will all receive the rank you obtained before dinner, and then be sent to the right place to begin your training."
