"After the departure of Nimah and Sadeli, the house was quiet. Silent and gripping. Just a few times Mr. Frans asked his workers to clean this house. I am still waiting for news about my family. Back then, whenever anyone came into this house, I always wished it was them. They came home safe and I could see them again."

"But years change. The situation remains unchanged. They never came back. Until now," said Noura.

"How is the fate of this house next? is it left empty? I mean before it was made KNIL headquarters?" my many.

"Yes. No one occupied this house. Until finally the year changed, there was an attack on several Dutch citizens carried out by a group of Nippon soldiers. The news was actually long heard, the news that the Dutch East Indies will be visited by the Nippon nation."

" They are carrying out attacks against Dutch citizens living in this region. Not only against Dutch citizens, but also against civilians. They carried out brutal acts by abducting girls and making them captives. The atmosphere was very tense at the time. They went to the homes of Dutch citizens, committed destruction and torture, kidnapped and took them to the camps of captives."

"They also came to this house. But since it was empty uninhabited, they only destroyed a few items here. The front door and the side door are broken."

It appears they're vandalizing an orphanage run by Dr. Hans. They really have no heart. Doctor Hans, his assistant and the children of the orphanage were likely to be taken to the camp. While his two sons and his wife were already horribly dead when Nippon soldiers massacred their homes."

"Haaa.....It's awful," Noura said, giving me goosebumps.

"Doctor Hans is a good man. The people here know him well as a doctor who is social and likes to share. He never set a fee for indigenous people who come for treatment. Especially to those who can't afford it, Dr. Hans often gives free treatment."

" When he passed in front of the house with his hands tied and his face covered in blood, that was the last time I saw Dr. Hans. After that there was no news of Dr. Hans as well as the children of the parlour. Maybe they're dead at the hands of Nippon's soldiers."

"Then what about Mr Frans?" my many.

"Years changed, the country finally became independent. Several Dutch citizens who managed to save themselves from the atrocities of Nippon finally returned, including the family of Mr. Frans who came back to the Dutch East Indies. The ultimate goal is to save their remaining wealth assets in the country."

"They returned to the Dutch East Indies accompanied by the arrival of allied forces and NICA. Nippon's defeat of the allies gave them easy access. Then a Dutch officer who was also a KNIL leader was interested in this house and wanted to make this house a headquarters."

"The man was an acquaintance of Mr. Frans. Whether he rented it or not, but this house was used as a KNIL headquarters for approximately three years. Remarks :

The arrival of NICA or the civilian government of the Dutch East Indies and the Allies to Indonesia occurred after Japan surrendered unconditionally to the Allies, August 15, 1945. 

That is, the Allies have the right to Japanese power in various areas that have been controlled, one of which is Indonesia. 

Therefore, the Allies came to Indonesia to disarm the defeated Japanese army in World War II.  

However, before the Allies came to Indonesia, the Joint Agreement or Civil Affairs Agreement was signed between the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

Therefore, the Allies entered Indonesia with a piggy bank by NICA, led by Van der Plass and Van Mook. The goal is for the Dutch to regain control of Indonesia.
