THE NOURA VAN KEMMERS

THE NOURA VAN KEMMERS
The same dream

The same dream. It always repeats and repeats. For almost a week, I was stunned by the dream I had every night. About the figure of a beautiful blonde woman who was sitting in the corner of the back garden.

His face was like a deep sadness. That woman is so beautiful. He looks like a Hollywood artist. The fashion style is like women of ancient Europe. Very classic and aesthetic.

In the dream, I was walking towards the back of my house. It looks like a dazzling light. A light that intrigued me and led me to a vast courtyard filled with colorful flowers. It's exquisite.

In the corner there is a fountain and also a glittering silver swing pole. And that's where I saw that beautiful figure. Surprisingly, there was no fear in me. I wanted to get close to her, but again I woke up every time I wanted to get close to her.

...****************...

Two months ago, we moved into this house. From Palembang to Jakarta. Dad got a promotion from his office and was asked to move to the headquarters in Jakarta.

And of course, we all have to move. In Jakarta, we plan to contract a house first. Thank God, thanks to the help of Mr. Atmo, Dad's coworker, we got a pretty good and decent house in the old Depok area.

The building is very artistic in the style of European home models of the past. The page is very broad. So is the inside. The shape of the house is elongated. No storey. There is no second floor. Inside are six bedrooms, four bathrooms, two kitchens.

Somewhat far behind there is a small building like a Dutch house-style pavilion. It is about 200 meters from the main house. The building has also been renovated several times. The original building may have been like that. The renovation process remained unchanged, following the original model of the pavilion's shape.

The owner said the pavilion used to be home to domestic assistants who worked at his home. The owner once occupied this house when he was a child. This house is the legacy of his grandfather. The grandfather bought it from his friend who was also a fellow freedom fighter around the 1940s.

When viewed from the shape of the building, it is certain that the first owner is the Dutch Family. Obviously, the age of this house is very old. Although it has been through several renovation processes, it still looks elegant. Interesting and very artistic. The homeowner said he deliberately maintained the authenticity of the shape and model of the building in accordance with the mandate of the Grandfather.

The artistic model of the house is what makes Dad immediately interested. The very classical building gives the impression of a magnificent prestige.

The owner said, the shape of this house did not undergo a complete change, just like the building that resembles a pavilion in the backyard, only slightly polished but the shape of the building still follows the Dutch home model in the past.

"Hopefully at home sir! say my regards to Mr. Atmo, I say goodbye!" the owner of the house left.

"Well, how about it, yeah? this house is too cold. And too broad, too" answered Mama.

From the beginning, my mother disagreed with the house. This house is too big. It takes extra energy to clean it. Mama's right, too. But no one can dispute Dad's decision. Although, Mama and the children refused, Dad would still force until they were all finally forced to agree.

According to The Owner, the house was last rented out about six years ago. The tenants then moved abroad. They are a young couple with two children who are toddlers. They work as artists. His wife is a dance teacher and his husband is a musician. This house was also used as a dance studio.

Before being rented by a couple of artists, this house was just an empty building that was once used as a warehouse for storing raw materials for the textile industry in the Jabodetabek area.

Textile factory owners rented this house for decades. Previously this house was just an ordinary empty house that had not been inhabited for a long time. In fact, it's been dilapidated here and there. The impression of haunted is very pronounced, according to the narration of residents around who have known this house for decades.

It was only after the owner of the house came home from abroad, he renovated this house in a large way and then rented it to the factory owner.

The owner also said to Dad that he would not sell the house, that he would leave it to his children if they did not want to take care of the house, later he will give this house to the local government to be used as a cultural reserve or museum, or be declared as a social foundation.

I remember once, how enthusiastic Dad was when he asked me how much this house would cost if the Owner wanted to sell. And instantaneously. I was disappointed when I heard the Home Owner's answer. I really hope I can buy this house.

My father was a lover of classical things. From a young age, he likes to collect antiques. For him there is a satisfaction if you see things characterized by vintage elements. Sometimes no matter what the price, it will be bought.

So how happy Father was when he could contract this house. Moreover, the rent price is not so expensive, making Dad so enthusiastic. Even though his wife and children refused, Dad still abstained from retreat.

Honestly, I love this house. Not because of the classic style that is so thick, or the ornaments of the building that seemed to bring us to the atmosphere of colonial life, but like there is something from this house that makes me interested and at home. I don't know what it is...I don't know.

Seriate.
