The New Civilization of Witches

The New Civilization of Witches
Chapter 7: Training (Part 11)

The fire rose from under his feet but soon faded.

This was his twenty-third attempt.

And he has failed again.

On Anna's forehead the beads of

Sweat constantly appeared, but he only used the back of his hand to wipe it off, and the sound of the rising crackling of flames immediately sounded again.

Without stopping to rest, the end of a workout is followed by the start of the next exercise.

The magician uniform was lying on the side, neatly folded, If Anna did not insist on doing so, her new uniform would have already burned to ashes.

Fortunately, with Roland's identity as the 4th prince, obtaining some spare robes for him to use wasn't difficult.

He had his servant, Tyre, deliver a bucket full of robes, which the servant collected for Anna to use.

The twenty-fourth exercise finally succeeded, the flame no longer rising from his feet. Instead, it appeared in his hand.

He carefully moved his arm, to try and make the flame go to his fingertips, but the flame suddenly shook twice and raised his arm making his sleeve burn, it even spread from the sleeves to swallow the entire robe.

Anna put out the fire but her robe was already completely on fire, so she turned to the bucket and picked up a new one.

This was not the first time this had happened, but every time it happened, Roland would turn his head away, so his eyes looked elsewhere, even if Anna herself did not care about it.

In fact, if not for Roland's stern rejection, he would probably have taken off all his clothes and practiced naked, in broad daylight!

But even if Roland got a good view of his great figure like that, he would not be able to calmly work with a naked girl, either,

especially when the girl turned into fire and her body gave off a completely different charm.

Roland shook his head, leaving behind his dirty thoughts. For now, it doesn't seem easy to master magic power.

The real goal he had set for Anna was that she had to control the fire in such a way that she could release the fire from her palm or fingers without damaging her own clothes.

However, he also wanted the fire to have a temperature high enough to melt the iron bars that were in the courtyard.

|After Anna's thirty attempts failed but before she could do the next one, Roland stopped her and told her to rest.

Anna looked at him in surprise, but she gave no other response.

Roland had to walk, he even had to pull the girl with his hands, bring her to the chair and force her to sit down.

"You're tired, when you're tired you have to rest.

Don't be so impatient, we still have time."

He helped her wipe the sweat on her moist forehead and said,

"let's have afternoon tea."

Roland knew that the nobles of the Greycastle Kingdom did not have the habit of drinking afternoon tea and the productivity of this world was extremely poor,

for ordinary people it was difficult to have the opportunity to taste such a delicate meal.

People in this world do not know three meals a day, not to mention the fourth.

As for the sons of nobles, they generally gathered together around this time for fun in the bar or casino.

The prince himself had to temporarily take over the waiter and cook if he wanted to make a habit here since they were unfamiliar with him.

Since he had to prepare some soft drinks and they had no tea, he was forced to replace the ale, it was important to get tea in the future ...

So in the garden behind the castle, in a log cabin, the first afternoon tea party in

The Kingdom of Greycastle.

Anna looked at the delicious snack dish, not trusting her eyes.

Since when does something to eat look so good?

Although he did not know the specific name of the cake he ate, its appearance was pure white, and the bright red collection of fruit could make people feel their appetite increasing.

Especially seeing the edges of the cake decorated in beautiful patterns, all this forced him to change his worldview once again.

Roland proudly observed Anna's puzzled expression, she looked like a village person, but was also a little frightened.

Although the strawberries on the cream cake are soaked in sugar and do not even taste fresh, there is nothing left of the cake.

Roland found that appreciating the witch's face while she ate was more satisfying than doing it herself.

Roland watched Anna, whose| carefully stuffed the cake into his mouth, his blue eyes almost gave off a ray of light, and his hair swayed gently in the wind.

Seeing all this his heart suddenly almost | exploded and he thought, It's not good to cook something worse!

Well, the cultivation of feelings and talents is also very important.

Barov helped him keep things clear and orderly.

Three days later, Barov relayed the information of the border city industry he requested to Roland's office.

This was a truly extraordinary moment, the former Fourth Prince actually never had the patience to see such a large pile of complicated reports.

In fact, even now he doesn't have it.

Roland only needed to read two lines of text until he started to feel dizzy, and he immediately said to Barov, "You'll read it for me."

He spent an hour listening to Barov until he found the error, "Why is the border city's annual winter tax and trading income zero?"

Because winter temperatures are low, the decline in harvests is understandable,

|but what does it mean to go straight back to zero, do locals have a habit of hibernation?

Barov coughed, "Master, did you forget? In the winter months is the time of the 'Devil Month',

the city had no ability to guard its borders, all the residents had to evacuate to Longsong Fortress. But rest assured, your safety is certainly a top priority"

"Demon Moon?"

Roland seemed to remember hearing that sentence before.

He did not take seriously the ghosts and legends of evil witches, he took them as part of this uncivilized world nonsense.

But now it seems like the monster is not a fantasy because witches really exist.

Then...what about other famous legends like ghosts?

When he was educated as a noble, his history teacher had explained the "Month of Satan" in detail.

Every winter, after the first snow falls and the sun has set behind the mountains, a dense darkness without light will fall. At that time the gates of hell will open.

The evil spirits from hell will corrupt the living beings, and turn them into demon slaves.

Some animals would turn into powerful demonic beasts with only one goal, to attack humans.

Most witches were born in this season, and their strength would become much stronger than usual because of that.

"Have you seen him?

The gates of Hell," Roland asked.

"Your Majesty, how can ordinary people see them?" Barov shook his head again and again,

"Don't say nonsense, the mountain they came from could not be conquered, even if it was close to the mountain,

You will be exposed to a foul poison, first a mild headache, and then in severe cases. Except ....

"Except what?" “Unless the one who does it is a witch.

Only witches can go and see the Gates of Hell because they have fallen from grace and become stooges of the devil.

Of course they need not fear the touch of evil.

Calling the witch, Barov glanced towards the garden.

Demon monster, have you ever seen it?" Roland tapped on the table to retract the attention of the assistant minister.

"Well, I haven't seen them. Like Your Majesty, this is my first time coming to the borders of the kingdom.

In the center of the country, in the castle, only a few people will meet the real demons."

If he needed to evacuate once a year, how could he develop this place?

He originally thought that the border town was a barren land, but it still had the potential to be developed, but now it seemed to just be wishful thinking.

"When we fight the demon beasts in Longsong Stronghold, when they are invincible and when they can be killed, then why can't we defeat them in this border town as well?"

"Stronghold Tongs have high walls. Also, Duke Ryan's elite troops were stationed there.

Unlike this border town, this small place definitely cannot compare to it" Barov explained,

"from the very beginning, the establishment of the city's borders was to give an early warning to the fort.

Therefore the city is located between the slopes of North Mountain and Chishui

The river."

So, the city was just cannon fodder to head off the enemy. The only way they can go, though,

Roland laughed grimly when he heard this.
