The Long Way to Be a CEO

While Waiting for Rain to subside

Indira and Finna joined us for a casual chat this afternoon which was decorated with rain that flushed the capital Jakarta. They were about to shop in a downtown shopping area, but because the weather was like a storm, they chose to go here and wait at least until the rain subsided.

Because we had already gathered, finally the three of us chat about Stefan who will join our company just leave it, and continued later if there is a chance. Currently we are more concerned with gathering together to enjoy coffee and various kinds of food at the table that has been provided by the chefs and baristas of this cafe.

“Hei Finn, how are you?” Stefan was asking for news.

“Good, how are you? Any News, you are out of the company huh?” the company led by Finna is still working together on several projects, of course, the news about Stefan who will resign has been heard by finna, and he suspects this because it is on the list of the company's top brass, the news is, stefan's name as deputy director has been removed and filled by others.

“Is that true?” Indira is very curious about Finna's question, he looks deeply into Stefan's face which is now clumsy, misbehaved because finna leaked unexpected info.

Stefan grinned, revealing a row of clean white teeth, staring at the girls who were raining on him, all kinds of questions that were difficult for him to avoid.

“Stefan joined my company, and he will occupy the current director position, and I can focus as CEO” I answer their questions at once, at least so that Stefan no longer needs to pretend and misbehave because of it.

After all that is the fact and gradually everyone will also know the important reason why he moved to be able to build a company with me and also Rania.

I also continued to explain about the plans of the three of us in building the company we named PT. Citra Digital Nusantara. The three of us also named this company and now with Stefan joining I am very free in handling the jobs as a CEO who is still very ordinary and has much to learn again, and I need Stefan to accompany the journey ahead in welcoming the various challenges that we will face together.

“You should be a commissioner, not all the capital of the company comes from your money.” Finna explained the initial investment that at that time used the money given by Stefan and of course it was known by others. But from Stefan's explanation, the commissioner should be held by investors who will invest, and, and now the three of us must focus on company development and also on the development of various projects that one of the only ones is the oxygen project that must be released in another month in publication to the wider community.

"Building a company is not easy, not because you have been friends for a long time, then it will make things easier. Please avoid that, and be professional because friendship sometimes will even complicate the design of the company that you started from the beginning. This is just my experience, and you deserve to know and think better.”.

Finna's words have a point, and we agree with that. However, I even more want this friendship that will build and maintain the integrity of the company, in addition to being professional we will know each capacity and complement each other and each other. I believe that friendship is capital that not all companies can have. The culture that will be built also leads to the familiarity of each member to be able to continuously improve performance by helping each other work together and can improve the experience of each personal.

Indira wrestled on the shoulder of my arm, spoiled as usual but currently do not know the place where he behaved like that, I reciprocated his messianic attitude, gently rubbed her long black hair and embraced her shoulders which were now stuck on my shoulders.

Did not feel the time passed so quickly, the clouds blackened with the sound of rain falling, it seems it will not subside. Then even the outside vehicle is not so much, only some who force driving in conditions like this, many people prefer to wait for the rain to subside without knowing when it will happen.

“Jam 4 I have to go back to the office for a meeting, I say goodbye first ya” Rania intends to resign after ordering a taxi online.

After a few minutes they drove off in the rain and disappeared from the sight of the three of us who were still sitting quietly in the cafe.

“it looks like I'm a mosquito repellent here, I should go home too” Finna insinuates our intimacy today and start cleaning up her luggage lying on the table.

“Be careful how Indira finn” hugged his friend, and Finna stepped into the parking lot to go to her colleague's office in the Sudirman area not far from here.

Cafe visitors are increasingly cheered by coffee lovers or just shelter from the extreme weather out there, they from various circles, among others, there are parents and young children who are in the middle of the kasmaran as well as office workers who are still wearing ties that hang haphazardly in their work shirts.

Change after change in this place I feel every day. Mas Hendy is very painstaking in managing his business, indeed, just starting from a small kiosk can now build this place into various rooms that can at least accommodate 200 people and also he has made plans to make the 2nd floor and will be more and more rooms to be able to accommodate more people.

Such building a business, must be careful and also deft in responding to changes, then take advantage of the moment to increase and expand its scope. Mas Hendy taught me that “never make a branch if the core of his business is still not strong”. That's what I'm implementing now, sticking with the current conditions and improving every aspect of the company as strongly as possible.
