The Legend Of Samurai

The Legend Of Samurai
Ch 5: Preparation

It's been three days since the last time the incident happened. However, Kimura still had not forgotten him he was still moody and aloof in his room. Kimura was sitting on her back on the mattress while looking at the window with blank eyes.

Meanwhile, his father was leaning against the door while looking at his son, he no longer knew how to restore the spirit of the son alone puppet.

"Son, you must try to forget the events that have passed..." Hanbei said as he walked over to Kimura who was sitting quietly on the bed, "When you want to become a great samurai, in any situation the problems that befall you you must remain strong."

This was all Hanbei could do for his son at this time, he did not want Kimura to continue to drag on in grief that risked disturbing his mentality. Hanbei felt he had to keep looking strong in front of his son. Although, he also felt what his son was now feeling.

"Dad...Is heaven beautiful? As most people say," asked Kimura whose gaze was still focused on his front window.

Hanbei smiled seeing his son speak again. Then he said, "If you ask all the people of this world, they will say "yes" heaven is beautiful, because every human being born on this earth has been given various opinions so that they imagine heaven as a beautiful place..."

"And.." continued Hanbei,

"...If you ask like that. Father will answer that heaven is indeed a beautiful place, a place dedicated by the inhabitants of this world who always do good in covering everything."

The silence was created moments after the brief conversation between father and son ended.

"Wouldn't you always do good, will heaven also be your place?" ask Kimura.

"Your mother must have been given the best place by the creator" Hanbei said in response to his son's question.

"If so, I will continue what Kimura's original goal was, and will keep father from impending danger. "Kimura got up from the bed, then walked and stopped right in front of the window whose glass was filled with morning dew.

"Strong, strong, strong. Kimura will be the strongest" he said slowly, but with both hands clenched. He held a deep grudge after the incident.

The relief was refreshing to Hanbei's heart as he saw his son return as excited as ever. On the other hand he was also concerned to see the development of his son's training which he guided himself never develop.

"Dad was called by the Chief to meet him this morning. Do you want to come along" said Hanbei, walking and standing beside Kimura.

Kimura only nodded in response.

Early this morning Kansuke came to see him, telling him that the Tanaka Nobles Family troops were led directly by his elite Commander Saji Obata and the Klan traitor Tang Ryu, it's moving from the west.

One piece of information Hanbei didn't tell his son. That is, that Chairman Goto Matabei wants to give an heirloom sword katana heritage ancestral Uesugi Clan, which has been stored for hundreds of years.

Hanbei did not expect when he heard the words of his Chairman. If he wanted to, give the katana sword that had rattled the samurai world a few hundred years ago, to Kimura.

"What!"

There was a man about 50 years old and up with a few lines of wrinkles on his face, tearing the letter in his hand. He was the vice-chairman of the Uesugi Clan Tang Ryu. His face looked extremely furious, after reading the writing that was on the letter.

It was a handwritten letter from Goto Matabei. The content of the letter is.

"I, on behalf of the head of the Uesugi Clan, will not allow anyone to seize this Clan. We've all prepared to put up a fight when anyone intends to disturb the peace of this Clan!"

~Goto Matabei~

Tang Ryu was obviously very furious, he had planned this for a long time and there was absolutely no one who knew of this plan. However, when he felt ready to run something that he did not expect to happen.

"Whatever you're going to do old man, this coup plan will still be on the run," inner Tang Ryu with lips slightly to curl.

When Tang Ryu was engrossed in his evil thoughts, a soldier came to salute Saji Obata who was standing right beside him.

"Honor the General, our informant who served in the Uesugi Clan came to want to convey something to" said one of the elite soldiers while bowing his body in salute.

In view of his clothes which contained the emblem of 3 lines on his left chest, it indicates that he is a Lieutenant. In total Saji Obata was carrying around 1200 soldiers. Meanwhile, Tang Ryu had managed to influence hundreds of disciples of the Uesugi Clan to come with him. If roughly numbered they may bring about 1500 troops, to succeed the coup plan that will soon be carried out.

"Execute General!" reply to the Lieutenant.

Saji Obata has served about 15 years to the Tanaka noble family and was only appointed General about 4 years ago. However, in a relatively short time he has made an extraordinary contribution to this family.

There were already 2 middle-sized Clans along with 3 small Clans that he had subdued and now the Clan belonged to the Tanaka noble family. However, would he be able to subdue the Uesugi Clan that belonged to one of the biggest Clans in this Meiji Empire in order to continue his good streak of records.

Let's just wait for what he's gonna do...

"Honor the general, I want to give a report," said his informant who was also a spy in the Uesugi Clan already in front of him while saluting.

"Say, what report did you bring..." Said Saji Obata, then continued his delayed words from breathing the cool air around him, "If the report is not too important for my ears to hear, I will cut off your tongue."

The informant gulped at the General's words, "Hamba wanted to tell him that Mr. Tanaka Yoshi was killed."

Saji Obata and Tang Ryu gasped in shock at the news. However, it was Saji Obata who was most shocked to hear the news. Tanaka Yoshi had been considered a friend, when he was a child they both always played and practiced together, but after Yoshi went to study in the Uesugi Clan they both very rarely met again.

"Who killed him and when he was killed" Saji Obata said with a furious face.

"Ka.kidau incident Mr. Yoshi was killed about 3 days ago. Meanwhile, if according to the news I heard, Mr. Yoshi was killed by one of the Elders who was there," explained the Informant.

Saji Obata grew furious, his emotions were already at their peak, "You all get ready! We must get to our destination immediately." He shouted loudly, to be heard by the entire army.

Then he got on the horse and rode on it. The Lieutenant, seeing that his General was already on the move, immediately asked his other troops to move along, they hurried to follow from behind.

The main hall of the Uesugi Clan was filled by thousands of samurai.

In the Uesugi Clan itself, only Goto Matabei had reached the category of a large-level Samurai with a Moon-level, while Hanbei was in the category of a mid-level Samurai with a Dragon-level.

Inside the Hall, it now lined up thousands of disciples with levels that were each different. Out of the total thousands of such disciples around hundreds had reached the level of Lightning, while the rest were the level of Wind.

In the vanguard lined up dozens of Elders the majority of them had already reached the mid-level Samurai.

"Are we going to wait for them, Chairman Goto?" ask one of the sturdy men.

Goto Matabei shook his head slowly at his words. He had heard the question a hundred times.

The man is Uesugi Takeda, he now occupies the top position in the 10 greatest Elders of the Uesugi Clan. A month ago he had already reached Star level.

Each stage is very difficult to pass through a samurai when they want to rise in level. Therefore, a lot of samurai who already look old but the level is still low.

"We wait for them in an hour. If they haven't come yet, attacking first seems like the best option" replied Goto Matabei.

Takeda snorted softly at his Chairman's words that he should wait a while longer.

The Elders who heard Takeda's words. Just hold back his curses, not to say that in front of the Clan's greatest Elder.

Some time passed, it was seen a Samurai Clan entering the hall.

"Chairman, I feel a strong aura is heading here. In a few minutes they seemed like they were about to reach the gate of the Clan," he reported.

Goto Matabei just nodded slowly, then opened his voice, "Let's greet them at the gate, Hanbei said he will soon catch up with us..."

Goto Matabei then led them all out of the Hall, intending to welcome the opponent at the gate.
