CHAPTER 23. Grandpa's Concerns

After a day of traveling, finally reached the western border with the middle. Now the air began to feel cold, the scenery on the side of the road was filled with various trees filled with flowers. Grandpa asked me to put on my fur coat. “Aurel immediately put on your coat, the air here is getting cold.” Grandfather gave me a pink fur coat.

A while passed, we had entered the street that was in the middle of the western area. “Stop.” Speak grandfather from inside the car, which makes the car stop instantly.

Grandfather got down and left the carriage, followed by a guard behind him. The other bodyguard shut the train back down, without telling grandfather where to go. I'm trying to find Grandpa's whereabouts from the window. However, grandfather was nowhere to be seen. I decided to wait for Grandpa to accidentally fall asleep for a while.

A few moments passed until the horse carriage door opened again. Grandpa returned to the carriage with several white-colored boxes in his hands. “Aurel this is for you.” Grandpa handed over the box in his hand.

I opened the box, and there were sweets in it. I took one of the sweets from one of the boxes. When I tried, the sweets melted in my mouth. The sweet sensation of fresh fruit is like dancing in my mouth. “Enak once...” Gumamku so happy.

Grandfather smiled looking at my expression while trying the sweets. “Later when going back to the middle area, we will buy so that Aurel can enjoy at home.” Grandpa said as he rubbed my head.

The train's back on, we'll be heading to Lawrence's residence right here. Grandfather said it had been 2 years since grandfather last lived there, after which the residence was only cared for by servants and confidants of grandfather.

Before long time passed, a fairly large building was not far from us. Modern classic-shaped building with blue pattern in some parts. The gate in front of him was not inferior to the Lawrence family residence which was in the central area.

“Aurel, we'll be right up.” Ucpa grandfather when we were approaching the entrance gate.

The gate opened, the bodyguards who were at the gate saluted as our carriage passed by them. The train stopped and the door opened. Grandpa took me off the train. The servants were standing up to welcome us. The waiters began to drop the suitcases off the train. Ishana also started to come down.

Then we continued our journey until we got to my room. The design of the room that I currently occupy is no less beautiful than my room in the lawrence residence in the middle area, the difference is the view from the balcony of the room overlooking the sunset.

After explaining everything necessary, the maid left the room. My things have reached my room with the help of the servants. Ishana started tidying up my belongings and asked me to wander around this residence so as not to get tired of waiting for her.

After wandering around for a while, I finally decided to meet the grandfather who was relaxing in the reading room.

The term socio-politics consists of two words, sociology and politics. Sociology is a science that studies society, social group – groups, and the behavior of individuals both individually and collectively in a social context. Politics is a science that studies power as a core concept. Socio-politics is the condition associated with power, government, and authority closely related to the nobles and the people.” Grandpa obviously to me.

“Ohh so yes grandpa?” I began to understand.

“At this time the socio-political in the empire is being divided into three. The nobles of the queen's family will support the second prince. The other camp supported the first prince based on their observations, and the other camp chose neutrality. Lawrence family is a family that always put themselves in a neutral position. Maybe after this the Lawrence family should choose one of the princes.” Grandpa said with a heavy breath.

“Why grandpa?” I'm confused.

“Because the emperor wants to raise my beloved grandson to accompany one of the princes.” Grandfather replied in a heavy tone and looked at me sadly.

“Is that me, grandpa?” I asked with my eyes fixed on Grandpa.

Grandpa looked at me softly, he thought if this was the right time to tell me everything. Grandfather just fell silent on hearing my question without answering and explaining anything. Perhaps in his little heart there were still many things needed to approve the emperor's proposal. Grandfather must have also thought about the feeling of father who might be hard to let go of me. Being a companion of the prince has a lot of risks. A little mistake will be fatal to me and the prince I will accompany.

Based on the books I have read about the history of the emperor's family members, I have often encountered cases of death and exile of queens and princely companions. Grandfather and father were certainly worried about me and were afraid that something bad might happen when I entered the imperial family sphere.
