CHAPTERS 17. Losing Dad

"Please save dad." My words cry.

"I don't want to lose my father, grandfather." My embrace with a sniffle.

The atmosphere was so chaotic, that day the sky was so dark. Dad did I fail back this time?

"Please do your best." Grandfather said with a trembling tone.

"We will do our best." The old man in the white robe.

Time passes so slowly. Father repeatedly spewed blood. Dad's originally beautiful eyes now look so scary. Dark circles and red eyes, his burly body was now so limp.

"Dad... Please hold on.." My love for not being able to see father.

The lightning snatched away, the rain fell so hard. Father's condition is getting worse, now his body is not even able to get out of bed.

Sweat was pouring from his head, his eyes were watered and consciousness was beginning to disappear. "Aurel….." Dad's voice was in a lot of pain.

"Dad hold on, don't leave Aurel." My broken and unstoppable cry.

Dad, am I going to fail? Am I going to lose my father again?

The sky was getting very dark, the rain outside was getting louder. The storm of the night described how tense conditions were inside Lawrence's family residence. The window that was originally closed, was now open due to the wind that barged into the residence.

“Servant please lock the window.” Grandpa said to the waiter who was nearby.

Moments after that, there were panicked faces from the people in the room. One shook his head, followed by a heavy gasp of breath by the other person. I looked at Grandpa who was in the corner of the room. Grandpa's eyes were glazed, grandfather's face turned pale. I try not to think strangely.

“What's wrong?” I was expecting clarity.

“Aurel your father is gone.” Reply to grandfather who made my tears break.

Suddenly everything looks black and dark, my eyes blurry. An unbearable sadness as if piercing my heart.

“Nona Aurel..Nona Aurel Say someone familiar to my ears.

My eyes opened, I saw the face of a stranger in my eyes. Long hair tied to one with the typical Lawrence family maid outfit.

“Nona alright?” Ask worried.

My tears are flowing, my eyes are swollen from crying. My condition makes Ishana confused and worried.

“Does miss have nightmares?” Follow ishana while cleaning the tears

“Ishana, where's dad?” I panic.

“So I saw Mr is in his room.” Ishana answered confusedly looking at me.

I immediately ran without noticing Ishana who was trying to stop me. Now I just want to meet Dad.

“Daddyhh.” My words immediately opened the door to my father's office.

“Iya Aurel? What's up?” Father was confused.

I hugged my father without saying anything.

“Excuse me Sir, sorry miss nightmare earlier.” Ishana said as she arrived after chasing me.

I didn't ask any more questions after seeing my condition. Dad asked Ishana to go and bring me a glass of warm milk. Then took me to sit on his couch in his study. “Aurel want biscuits?” Ask the father I answered with a nod.

“How about we go to the main streets of the empire?” Take dad to me.

“Ayoo, dad.” My answer was so happy that it was visible from a wide smile.

After that, my father and I started talking together that morning. Ishana came with a glass of hot milk and a sweet cake for me, then left the room to prepare my bath. My dad and I were still joking around together in my study. Father told me that on the main streets of the empire so crowded. There are so many food stores, clothes, and other things I might like. Dad said if there's anything I want, I can buy it right away.

“Aurel, immediately finish the warm milk. Then take a shower, we will leave there after Aurel takes a shower.” Father softly said.

“Good dad.” Answer excited.

Immediately I finished the milk and cake that Ishana brought, then returned to the room to clean up. With Ishana rocks, I can clean myself much easier. After that, Ishana helped me put on my clothes and get ready. Throughout that time, we talked lightly to find out what activities we would do all day later.

“Ishana, today what job do you have?” I asked when Ishana was tidying up my hair.

“Ohh, today Ishana will record the monthly needs of miss.” Ishana said with a smile.

“Monthly needs?” My words don't understand.

“Iyaa, there are some things to buy for miss.” Ishana is obviously to me.

In my previous life, the funds given to me were minimal. In my life now I get affection from many people, so there are some things that make me need a longer adaptation time.

“Is miss something you want to buy?” Ishana asked me, which I answered with a head shake.

“Shoes? New shirt? Toys?” Ishana asked back, which I answered with a head shake.

“Hmm, to be honest Ishana is confused about what kind of needs she needs. Looks like miss needs very little.” Ishana clearly breathed a tired breath.

“How about aurora stone?” I asked with a small laugh.

“Good idea miss, I will ask first to the butler.” Ishana answered after she finished tidying my hair.

After getting ready, Ishana escorted me to my father's study. There my father was ready to accompany me on the main streets of the empire.

“It looks like my little daughter is ready.” Said my father while holding me in his arms.

“Ayahhhh, let's go.” I said impatiently.

“Iyaa, let's go.” Father said with a smile on his lips

YO!! YANKO!!. YO!!

The roar of the chariot rang, my father and I were already on their way to the main road of the empire. The sky that day was so bright, there were many birds chirping that I could hear from inside the horse carriage. The distance between Lawrence's residence and the imperial road was not too far away, it only took about 20 minutes to travel.

During the journey I just stared at the clouds that were like dancing in the sky. Suddenly Dad put on a coat to me which surprised me a bit. “The weather is rather cold, I'm afraid Aurel is sick later.” Obviously the father I was retaliating for was a nod.

After some time has passed, we are finally close to the main streets of the empire. The road looks so crowded from a distance. Many lanterns were hanging over the streets. Sounds of laughter and happiness were heard as our train approached.

“Does Aurel want to buy something?” Ask Dad when we're getting off the train

As my eyes continued to stare at the sides of the road, who knew there was something I wanted. “Dad, Aurel wants to buy a doll. Can it?” I said after staring at the girl by the roadside with a teddy bear in her hand.

“Ohh, doll? Come on, dad will buy it.” Father replied, then took me walking towards the shop which was not far from our starting position. The store is so crowded with toys hanging on the front door of the store, when viewed it looks like the store just opened.
