The Law's

The Law's
Chapter 5

After Sherine's failure to persuade Helen to open the door yesterday, this time she tried again. Sherine is not a desperate person just upset if her wishes cannot be fulfilled by circumstances.

Sherine rushes to the Edelweis estate again. Arriving there, he did not see any grandmother who offered him a meal yesterday.

Sherine who was about to knock on the door, turned her eyes to the surrounding that looked dirty, yes it was still dirty. The state of Helen's house is still as it was yesterday.

"I don't know how much food he had in his house, he never came out and didn't even clean his house."

His hand was about to knock again, but–

"I'm worried about what's going on with her" Sherine finally knocks on the wooden door.

Yep, no answer.

"Excuse me."

Sherine knocked on that door again.

"Alright Helen, because I'm worried that you're forced to do this."

Sherine distanced herself from the door and prepared to break down. However, his steps came to a halt when–

"You're coming again, son?" Said the grandmother who happened to see Sherine.

"grandmother." Sherine said a little surprised.

"Yes, I just came from the supermarket and bought a lot of snacks, stop by my house you must have just come." Take grandma.

Sherine was forced to stop by the grandmother's house, but her intention was to see Helen Loise after she left.

"Right, I can ask you a lot more questions about Helen Loise than I did yesterday." Mumbled.

Sherine went into Grandma's house clean.

"Grandma, stay alone?" Ask Sherine.

"Yes, I've been living here alone for about ten years."

"That's a long time, where's Grandma's family?"

"My children all live in the city, they give me this house as a gift, after which they don't visit me anymore." Grandma said while breathing.

"I'm sorry I asked you this."

"It's okay, son. Let's eat first."

Sherine sits on the couch eating the snacks that Grandma has to offer. As the grandmother sat in front of her, Sherine immediately asked about Helen Loise.

"Is Helen still not going out?"

"Yes, after you left that time Helen still didn't want to go out."

"I don't know if he's too scared to get out of the house because of the news about his boss's death." Said the granny moody.

"When Helen was a cheerful child, I was worried if Helen was sick or something happened to her."

"That's why I wanted to break the door down." Sherine.

"What did you say, son?"

"Ah, no."

"How long has Helen been living here?"

"At that time he was 15 years old, yes he was young but had worked odd jobs. Helen says she's an orphan, but–this housing cost is huge for a 15-year-old whose job is odd."

"Surely he has no relatives? or is there someone else financing the house?"

"I don't think Helen has any relatives of her own. Poor kid, he had to break up as if to support himself. Sometimes I'm always in her house and, instead, Helen's always in my house."

"Grandma knows clearly Helen's nature, right?"

"Yes, he's so innocent, so it's easy to be told off by irresponsible people, let alone fooled. Wait, aren't you his friend, you should know, right?"

"Actually my– isn't her friend," Sherine pulled out her detective badge.

"I'm sorry if I lied, I'm the detective who took care of the boss' murder case."

Grandma was surprised. "Grandmother doesn't have to worry, I won't hurt Helen or scare Helen. It's just that I want Helen to tell me the chain of events she saw." Obviously Sherine.

"You mean–Helen was a witness to the murder?" Grandma still can't believe it.

"It could be, because he just happened to be there. I know the reason for not leaving the house, because surely the media crew will look for his whereabouts and ask for an explanation."

"Then what about you, aren't you the same?"

"I'm–just like they were looking for Helen Loise and forced her to leave the house, but I'm trying to talk nice and try not to hurt her."

"I don't think you can, son."

"Did Grandma forbid me?"

"Obviously, Helen wasn't that kind of person. You said maybe he was a witness but what if he was the perpetrator?" Grandma's words showed her anger a little.

"Therefore, I want to speak well with him."

Grandma was silent, but her silence had shown that she did not like it when Sherine met Helen for such a purpose.

"Alright, I apologize profusely if I'm presumptuous. Even if Grandma doesn't let me, I'll go."

The grandmother's face turned dislikeful, even ignoring Sherine's departure.

However, the ban did not stop Sherine from seeing Helen. It will come again. So stubborn, he made the motto that Prohibition is an order.

"I have no regrets because I have confessed, so this investigation is getting more exciting." He said with a smile.

...****************...

Arriving at the office, Lexan has just returned from his out-of-town assignment. Sherine, who was not paying attention, went straight into her room.

"Where have you been?" Ask Lexan.

Sherine is shocked, but she doesn't say hello or even Lexan doesn't see, but the guy can tell he's coming.

"I know someone's coming, just tell me where you're from?" Lexan's still turning his back on Sherine.

"Of course investigate."

"Waiting mister Robert?"

"Yes." Yeah."

After that, Lexan looks at Sherine who enters his room.

"Did he give you any information?"

"Yes." Yeah." He opened the book he had just borrowed.

"About what?"

"The waiter, as you asked."

"Oh, what's the result?"

"Nil."

Lexan laughed. "Even SEA could fail such an easy investigation."

Sherine closed the book. "Easy?"

"What?!" Lexan said defiantly.

"Then try to prove it yourself!" Throwing the book he was holding.

Lexan opens the book, and sees in it the profile of Helen Loise's bio.

"Helen Loise?"

"The waiter was–who drove Mr. Robert into Mr. Thomson's room before the incident."

Lexan carefully read Helen Loise's biodata.

"He's young?!" Lexan Decak.

"Yes, and he's been working for two years at Hendrick's house."

"When he was 16?"

Sherine nodded. "I've gone to her house and this is the second time, she seems afraid to open the door for someone plus a grandmother who will prevent you in a subtle way."

"So far enough, but if we just stay in one place then this problem will not be solved."

"So–you mean?"

"On Helen Loise is transferable, I have a task that both of us can complete, but apart. You know what I mean?"

"So you're saying you want to split up the tasks to get this thing done?"

"Exactly, watch the mading." Point Lexan at a Mading that contains a plan to be done.

"There are two places you and I will go, First I'm gonna go see the forensics doctor who took care of Thomson Hendrick's body and you go to Hendrick's house to get the Cctv footage that recorded Thomson's murder. Any question?"

"So–my job is to retrieve that Cctv record?"

"Yes." Yeah."

"If the Cctv tape is gone? you know that irresponsible people will eliminate the most important evidence?" Sherine asked unsure.

"It's only been two weeks, and–who's going to take away the evidence?"

"And the forensic doctor won't let you see Thomson's body." Tukas Sherine's

"Oh come on, this time I want our cooperation to be completely intact and not separate, you understand?"

"Yes I understand Parker, you want us to work together but– can you give me a task that makes sense to me?"

"You only doubt Sherine, just do it you'll get it and so will I" Lexan said solemnly.

"Then how do I get into their house?"

"You're an expert in disguise. Don't hesitate, partner, because you're not a labile teenager," blinking one eye.

Lexan is gone. "Wait, where are you going?" Ask Sherine.

"Physician forensics and I'll make sure I get everything."

After Lexan leaves, Sherine resentfully throws the book at Mading.

Sherine rubbed her face in annoyance. "Alright, calm down Sherine you can do it."

Sherine's view turns to Mading who contains Lexan's plan. Inside the Mading, Lexan attached a photo of Mr. Thomson with a red thread that ran through the other photo. Sherine again saw the photo connected to the red thread that led to Mr. Robert's photo.

"Thomson is the victim and Robert is the suspect, then–"

Sherine sees a red thread that connects her directly to a photo of Thomson Hendrick's palace-like mansion, then the red thread is connected again to the hospital where Mr. Thomson's body was buried.

"This picture is Hendrick's house, my next destination and the hospital is Parker's. I'm not sure that forensic doctor will give you a body that hasn't been buried. Parker is indeed a person who does not like to procrastinate, but his nature is too hasty to make the analysis wrong, maybe but hopefully not."

Suddenly Sherine's phone rings, indicating the name of someone who is from the detective organization.

"Hello, Mrs Jones," said Sherine.

"Oh SEA, how are you?" Ask Caroline Jones.

"Yes I'm good, thanks for asking."

"Ah usual, you know why I called you?"

"Yes, a new mission, right?"

"Fright, SEA."

"I thought, well, what's the mission?"

"Go to Helton and help Mrs Hudson."

"But–Mistress Jones, why should I help out on another mission?"

"You're not just helping, Mrs Hudson is dying to meet you, just think of it like a meeting, okay."

"All right."

...****************...

Lexan and Felix reach the hospital, where Mr. Thomson's body is buried.

"Hey, are you sure the forensics doctor will let you see Thomson's body?" Felix didn't believe it.

"I'm sure he'll give it to me."

"But, how?"

"Look out, you'll know what money's for."

The two men walked down the hallway, and finally met an office that read 'Doctor Henry Sullivan' .

However, they were intercepted by a man whose stature was somewhat waving.

"Sorry, gentlemen. Doctor Sullivan is nowhere to be found today" he said in a waving tone.

"Hey, why would someone like him be chosen as a guard?" Felix's whisper to Lexan.

The one who was asked only raised his shoulders did not know.

"I can hear you guys, yeah."

Felix was stunned to hear the guard knowing what he was talking about.

"Oh, you must be the man of attorney Robert Khiel the suspect. Waduh-waduh, it must not be easy yes because it is blasphemed here and there, hahahah," he mocked.

"Because you're Lexan Parker's man, so I can't let you in. Ehe," Continues.

"Ish, it sucks when he's a boy!" Felix muttered in an irritated tone.

Lexan patted Felix on the shoulder and told him to believe what he was doing.

"Sure you're not getting paid because your job is just making fun of visiting your boss, so–"

Lexan gave the money to the guard waving it as a bribe to let him in.

The guard's eyes sparkled at the money. "Ah, geez forgive me for banning you from entering, sir. Hehe I mean please come in!" His words are full of cheer.

Lexan walks into Sullivan's doctor's office.

While Felix still can't believe what Lexan did can make it in just like that.

"Wow, impressive," Felix said.

Dr. Sullivan is shocked by Lexan's arrival. Yeah, he knew the guy who came into this room was Lexan Parker, and the waving guard thought Lexan and Felix were the man of Mr. Robert's lawyer.

"Lexan Parker!" Sullivan's doctor was surprised.

"Good day, doctor Sullivan," he said, pulling up a chair for her to sit on.

"How dare you enter my room! w-hasn't Anderson banned anyone from entering?!"

"Oh, your guard is waving it. Yeah, yeah next time he's got more than I give him" Lexan said.

From the door hole, the guard, whose name is Anderson, shows the money Lexan gave to his boss.

"What do you want, Parker?!"

"Let me see Thomson's body."

"Why do you want to see Thomson's body?!" Sullivan asked the doctor with an angry face.

"Investigation certainly."

Doctor Sullivan averted his gaze, then gave a mocking smile.

"I know, doctor. You think of me as the one defending the suspect, and then–do you think I don't need an investigation?"

"I think it's useless, because in the end the victim will win."

"Yes, you're just like everyone else, assuming we won't win the trial" Lexan said in a whisper.

"And you've turned 100% into a man who defends evil" Sullivan said.

"Look doctor, I'm a lawyer and inevitably accept this duty, so are you. Show me the body or I'll leave?"

"I'm expecting a second offer, go Parker!" Annoyed annoyed.

"Well, you turned down the client" while showing a lot of money.

"That's all you got. Haha, I'm not enamored with–"

"How about–segini," While showing more money than before.

"I can give you more, doctor. Is this less?"

Dr. Sullivan was stunned by the amount of money he had on his desk.

Doctor Sullivan stuttered. "S-Here, Mr. Parker."

Sullivan's doctor shows Thomson's preserved body.

"Owh. Puncture in the heart, is this a claw?"

"Yes." Yeah."

Lexan looked at the doctor. "Don't ask, my job is just to check it and put it in the safe deposit box." Said Dr. Sullivan.

"I thought so."

He saw the body again, surrounded it, occasionally feeling the wounds on Thomson's body.

"I think yes, Robert was the one who killed Thomson. Look, the puncture wound is clearly the marker" Sullivan said.

"In addition to the stab wound, what do you think led Robert to be found guilty?"

"There were claw marks, they must have had a fight before they finally stabbed Thomson."

"I agree with that statement, doctor. But I feel like the one who attacked Thomson wasn't Robert, but a woman."

"Woman?" Ask Sullivan's doctor not to believe it.

"If there is a domestic feud or Thomson is violent towards his wife, the first thing a woman relies on in an attack is to grab her hair or– claw it. You just see this scratch on the neck and on the face."

"You mean, Miss Miranda was involved?"

"Of course." Lexan said sure.

"No, Parker. I have evidence to suggest that Robert is the real suspect and that they actually fought back before the murder. Come here." Come here."

Sullivan's doctor escorted Lexan to his lab room.

He pointed out the knife used to stab Thomson and the glass container that contained blood.

Lexan frowned. "The knife was–"

"The officer let me take it, look at this."

Sullivan's doctor put the knife into a detection device. When the tool sounded, on the screen plastered large writing COMPLETE.

"See the results match, this fingerprint belongs to master Robert!" Excited pleased.

"No, the results stated that it was suitable because what was detected was blood, it could have been intentional," Lexan said.

"You mean intentional?" Ask the doctor confused.

"Someone had slashed Robert's finger and put it on the knife, of course it was intentional because behind Robert's blood there were fingerprints that could not be seen by the naked eye."

"What?!" Ask the doctor still can't believe it.

"Give me the knife," Lexan wiped the bloodstains carefully.

Then he put it back on the detector. And the result–

FAILED, the doctor glared with a failed result unlike the beginning.

"I'm right, right?!" Lexan exclaimed with a triumphant smile.

Dr. Sullivan could only be astonished at the results obtained from Lexan.

"I can photograph the result, and–the knife?"

"A-take it," said Sullivan, who was still glued.

Lexan triumphantly wants to tell Sherine about the results she got.

"I've got it, Dawson," he muttered with a happy smile.

"Wh wait, but whose fingerprints are those?" Ask again.
