The Last Chance's
The Forty Eight Sections

The day is overcast, coinciding with the motorcycle Damar began to enter the yard of the house. With a face that looked more cheerful, he came down from the top of his big motorbike, which he had parked in the garage. Whistling while playing the key with his finger, and walking into the main door of his family residence.

"The room!"

When passing Ranti – which was not realized by Damar since earlier had been sitting on the homepage seat of rum–, whistling Damar stopped. He looked quite surprised, with his mother's eyes looking quite sharp this afternoon.

"Ma, uh,"

Slightly clumsy, Damar poked his lips that had conicaled out a whistle. Both of his hands went into the pants pocket, with a sturdy body along with Ranti who was standing from the porch seat of his seat.

"Lately, you've come home from college. Wh why? Do you have a problem with your college friends?" ranti asked, holding her hand to her chest, staring intensely at Damar's face.

"Huh? No, Ma. Emang... If Damar comes home quickly, it means that Damar has a problem, huh?" sahut Damar relaxed, wanted to leave Ranti just like that.

"Eh, where are you going? Mama's not done talking!" sergeant Ranti, holding off Damar's arm which he knew was going to go from before him.

"What's up, Ma…."

Damar turned his head in a slightly lazy style, but tried to smile at his mother. Makes the Mother feel suspicious, by scrunching her forehead deep enough.

"No problem with your college friends, means…." Ranti glanced at the open door of their house.

"Is that fucking woman what you mean?" asked the woman then slightly whispered, making Damar shocked until both eyes widened.

" Pe–fucking woman?" repeated Damar did not expect, which Ranti actually looks so relaxed by giving a heavy breath.

"Did that Anggi do it again with you, huh? What say? Does he threaten you so you can go home fast every day?"

"Ma, uh,"

"So yes, say the same Mama, let Mama master the lesson of one child! How dare he disturb you, after he binds you in this kind of useless marriage. Especially reason? The baby in her womb? He made the baby as a tool to bind you to be closer to him? huh?!"

"Ma, uh,"

Ranti took a deep breath and threw it away, then held both shoulders of Damar quite hard.

"Dengerin Mama yes, Damar! Whatever he does to you, you need not be afraid. You said same Mama. That bastard must be beaten up! Because if he doesn't, he can run! You remember, how did Papa react when you married Anggi? That must be because that damn woman instigated your Papa, Damar! Don't believe everything he says to you! You should be able to sort it out! Remember, how now your life and your Papa's views are due to his actions."

Damar saw one by one Ranti's eyes were staring at him. From here, Damar could see there was a huge hatred drawn from the lightning of his mother's eyes against Anggi. And of course the reason, because Ranti felt that the life of Damar became a mess because of the presence of Anggi and the baby in the womb of the woman.

Trying not to provoke Ranti's emotions deeper, Damar tried to smile. He did not want to admit to Ranti, if the reason she came home sooner lately was indeed because of Anggi and their child. Perhaps, his mother will be more angry and nag him more.

"No, Ma. All safe. No one threatened Damar at all, including Anggi. Damar came home sooner than usual too, yes because now it is the season of testing. Lazy if you have to be shady in the tongkrongan place every day. Mama knows for herself, if Damar's pocket money has been reduced by Papa. So, you can't go out every day either" said Damar, lowering Ranti's hand from her shoulder.

"Mama who will add pocket money for you! You should hang out with your friends more often on campus. Mama is afraid, if you often go home quickly and eventually in the room, your wife will look for opportunities to disturb you," said Ranti firmly, back folding both hands on the chest.

Hearing that, only two of Damar's eyes widened. However, extra pocket money is still the biggest temptation for Damar.

"Really?" asked the young man reflexively, with a wide smile typical of a small child who was being promised a cool toy by his mother.

"Hm…. Therefore, starting tomorrow, you just enjoy your youth with your campus friends. Do not worry about money, because there is a Mama who will take care of everything," said Ranti nodded, then made the face of Damar more happy.

"Mama is the best! Thanks, Ma!" said Damar happily, hugging Ranti's body for a moment.

"Yes, equally," replied Ranti, looking at Damar who had already let go of her embrace.

"Now we're in. I think the test's already starting to come down."

...***...

Inside the room, Anggi stared fretfully out the window. His fingers squeezed each other, while occasionally looking at the wall clock in the room. His face looked restless, as he exhaled heavily a few times.

Actually, Anggi also felt a little confused. Because, some time lately Damar looks different. His meaning was not in terms of appearance, but rather his attitude seemed to change by about one hundred and eighty degrees. Although it is not the opposite as before, but Damar's attitude towards Anggi can now be said to be much better.

Starting from the way of speech that always pay attention to Anggi, go home to college always on time aka not wandering first with his friends, to do a lot of interactions with Anggi such as ; always ask Anggi if he has eaten or not, also ask Anggi news during Damar go to campus.

All looks like Damar is a husband who cares a lot about Anggi. Although sometimes Damar looks a little slim, but Anggi can interpret it as Damar's spoiled attitude towards him. Yes, although it may not be true, but for the convenience of Anggi's own heart, he will consider it that way.

The sound of the room door opening, provoking the attention of Anggi to look back. When he saw that the one who entered was Damar, he immediately ran up to the young man and hugged his stomach tightly.

"Sister Damar, already home," said Anggi half exclaiming, in the chest of Damar who seemed confused to see him.

"Whoa, come home. If not, how can you hug me now?" sahut Damar somewhat restrained his laughter, seeing Anggi's half-sullen face staring at him.

"So usually he comes home quickly. But, how long is it now, anyway? Brother... play the same old brother friends, huh?" ask Anggi carefully, at the end of his sentence while staring at Damar a little presumptuous.

"No," bellowed Damar.

"Keep, why old brother? Brother is not a bachelor, right? Brother's clothes aren't wet, are they?"

Sounding very chatty, Anggi began to focus on the face and clothes of Damar. See if her husband had been exposed to rain when he came home earlier, or not. It had been down for about a few minutes before she found her husband entering the room.

"I've been home since, Nggi. Just, was invited to talk first with Mama on the terrace," explained Damar, this time making Anggi seem to understand.

"Oh, that's…." Angkuk Anggi then spoke so slowly. "Kirain" he said again.

For a moment, both of them were silent. Damar just looked at Anggi who was thinking about what. Then, when he saw the rain that flowed on the window glass of the room, Damar suddenly thought of something.

"You must not get too close to that woman. The dangers…! "

Damar blinked both of his eyes. Rain like this, wouldn't it be better to make out with a partner, huh? Moreover, they are legal as husband and wife. But, the words of Ranti, Damar's mother, a moment ago, somehow made Damar a little confused. On the one hand, he wants to remain a submissive child for his mother. But, one more side, he felt happy at Anggi's side. Like there is happiness in itself, which for some time he has tried to ignore.

"Nggi," called Damar suddenly, making Anggi who had bowed, raising his head.

"Hm?"

"Where do we start tomorrow when we go outside? During the move to this house, we've never been out even once, have we?" tawar Damar.

"Walk?" the woman looked a little confused.

"Hm, walk!"

"Where?"

"Yes, where are you! To the park, cake, mall, cake, or. Where to go!"

"But what college did you attend? Yes, Brother wants to skip," asked Anggi wonder, which Damar who had been smiling clucked a little bit.

"Yes abis came home from college dong, Anggi…. Yes, the time I want to skip? If Papa finds out, I'll be hanged! Do you want to be a widow at an early age?!" sembur Damar suddenly, suddenly made Anggi more shocked again to shake his head in panic several times.

"No, Brother! Just delicious! How, anyway! Don't say anything, ah…! It was prayer, you know!" reprimand Anggi grimly, but full of irritated look on his face.

"Yes, your question is also strange. Where the hell maybe, I dare to skip college, while I know, Papa was often suddenly harassing the campus. Crazy times, ah…." Said Damar shuddering.

Hearing that, Anggi just kept quiet. Inflating his cheeks that looked filled while turning his gaze in the other direction.

Actually, he was curious about what Damar and Anggi's mother-in-law were talking about before the man walked into the room a moment ago. Only, he did not dare to ask. He thought, maybe Damar will feel uncomfortable, by assuming Anggi too curious about the affairs of Damar and his mother.

"Yes, anyway, tomorrow I'll take you out for a walk. Where did you go first, good? The park? The mall?"

Late in his mind, Anggi was a little surprised when Damar hugged Anggi's stomach with both hands. Twisting slightly the woman's body facing the window, with the position of Damar who has now hugged her from behind.

"Ujan-ujan…. What do we do, huh?"
