The Last Chance's

The Last Chance's
Part twenty nine

This afternoon, Anggi plans to go to his parents' house. Since getting married and moving to the Damar family home four months ago, not once did Anggi come and set foot into his family residence. Let alone to meet face to face, communicate with each other via cell phone only, they never do. As if breaking up, Anggi felt a piece of kara living in this world without anyone asking news about him.

Actually, it's not like Anggi never tried to contact his parents. Several times, Anggi tried to call his father and mother's cell phone. However, both were compact to not answer calls from Anggi at all. Contacting the house, always their domestic assistant who answers on the grounds that his father and mother Anggi is fine and asks Anggi not to worry.

Feeling that this was on the threshold, Anggi decided to go for a moment to his parents' house. Even though she had to receive a slur first from her mother-in-law when asking for permission to come out, she still made up her mind to leave that afternoon as well.

"Don't bring your suitcases? Your stuff too, no one is left behind. Because, I don't like there's a reason you're coming back to this house, even if you just want to grab a perfume bottle."

Anggi's heart feels pain remembering one word Ranti when she was leaving earlier. Indirectly and rudely, the woman told Anggi to leave the house for good. Though clearly earlier Anggi said he wanted to visit his family for a moment. Why is he so eager to kick Anggi out, anyway?

Getting down from the taxi he had stopped when in front of the house, Anggi immediately rushed into the yard of the family home which was also quite large. There, he saw two house guards chatting in their post.

"Sir," Anggi said slowly, no doubt immediately made the two men there surprised and stood up.

"Non Anggi?"

The two glanced at each other, with slightly anxious faces.

"Non... Who came here?" asked one of them, looking at Anggi who seemed to come alone.

"Alone, Sir. Emh... Papa does Mama exist? Anggi wants to meet," asked Anggi with his distinctive voice that was so slow, again making the two people there look at each other.

"Engh.. Tu-Tuan and Madam... ehm... that's. Tu-Tuan and Madam…."

"Sister Anggi?"

Still stammered in confusion answering Anggi's question, the three turned their heads, as someone called Anggi from behind.

While telling the story, it turns out the three are unconscious with a car that stops near them.

"Republica?"

Anggi frowned, seeing his sister coming with Arkan, carrying a medium-sized suitcase in his hand.

"Sir Anggi? What is brother here? Kok-?"

As with Anggi, Bagas-sister Anggi-is also frowned to see his brother there.

"Ah, I'd like to see Papa and Mama. Where are you from? How to bring a suitcase? Abis vacation, huh?" anggi asked in astonishment, while glancing at the suitcase he knew as belonging to Bagas being held by Arkan.

"Eh? Engh. Not from vacation, right! What holiday, try? People for the report card are still a long time away, too…." Bagas said honestly, then looked a little nervous turning his head towards Arkan.

"Hm... continue... What's the suitcase for? Where are you from?"

Aware of Anggi who seemed curious about Bagas' suitcase, Arkan cleared his throat and took over the conversation with the woman.

"Lo nyari Om same Aunt?" ask Arkan, managed to attract the attention of Anggi to him.

"Yes,"

"If so, go in first. I told you a story inside."

"Sister!"

While breathing out, Arkan touched the shoulder of Bagas which is still quite small.

"He should know. Because either way, he's still the son of Om and Aunt."

It seems, Anggi's legs have turned into jelly that can no longer support his body to stand. She fell on the bed, and pensively recalled what happened at her family home a while ago.

"After your departure, Om Rian became sickly. Repeatedly taken for treatment also does not produce anything. Yesterday, Aunt Mira brought Om Rian to Singapore, hoping for better treatment there."

Waving his eyes, Anggi touched his chest which felt so pained.

"Where is Papa?"

"The situation..bad."

A drop of Anggi's tears immediately fell down her cheeks. She cried without a voice and so sad sobbing. For whatever sake, he did not expect that his mistake could make his strong-looking and dashing father fall ill and helpless.

"The more days, Om Rian's condition is getting worse. His blood pressure is always high with a weakened heart."

Anggi recalled, when Arkan touched his shoulder while explaining it earlier at home.

"You better pray for Om Rian's health in the future."

"Lad…."

Unable to hold back the tears, Anggi lowered his head to touch the one that felt so full with his trembling hands. When feeling depressed like this, he did not realize that he had pressed his slightly distended stomach in a position to sit on the bed. It seemed, he was not used to facing two problems at the same time.

"Papa.., I'm sorry Anggi, Pa…. Sorry," Anggi raved slowly, now it's flooded with tears. His face was red, with a hint of veins visible on his forehead.

"Why you?"

Feeling crying alone in his quiet bedroom, Anggi was surprised by the presence of Damar who entered the bedroom.

Surprisingly, it was not usual for the man to come home in the afternoon like this. Usually, he will definitely go home late, waiting for Anggi to fall asleep first just entered the room.

"Sister…."

Not caring about the reason the man came home quickly, Anggi just cried staring at the man in a very sad style. As if begging for mercy, and hoping Damar came to reach his trembling hand.

Then, as if knowing with the intention of the woman's gaze, Damar who saw Anggi sobbing bitterly approached, and sat next to him on the bed.

"Papa. Papa is sick, Brother…. They say Papa's condition is getting worse…. Papa…. Papa's sick…. And it's all because of me. Because of this useless me, brother. Papa's sick, because of me…!"

Surprised to hear Anggi's vague chatter, Damar was only able to capture the core of Anggi's current cry. Her father-in-law is sick. Well, that's all Damar knew, and made her hug Anggi's shoulder a little awkward. Without a sound, without speaking, he rubbed the shoulder of the crying woman on his chest slowly.

A few minutes Damar still heard the woman's behavior, until finally Anggi calmed down and indicated that he had fallen asleep in a sitting position in the arms of Damar.

Knowing that it was not a comfortable position, Damar - with his sudden concern - immediately justified Anggi's sleeping position. He placed the woman on the bed quietly, and wrapped her fill body in a blanket. After that, he tidied up a bit of the messy Anggi hair, while staring at the woman's face slowly. Not knowing what was in his mind, Damar stood up straight, and immediately left his bedroom without speaking.

Seriate.
