This afternoon, Arkan, who had just returned after his meeting with one of the clients, decided to return to the office, because there was some work that had not been completed.
Just as Arkan wanted to enter his room, Intan - his secretary - immediately stood up from his seat and greeted Arkan who was about to enter.
"Sir Arkan," called Intan standing up, making Arkan pause and turn towards him.
"There are those who want to meet with you," tell Intan directly, look at Arkan who asked through his view.
"Who?" the man asked slightly, following Intan's gaze to a corner of the room which was the waiting room for Arkan's guests in the office.
Instantly, both of his eyes widened to find Prissa's presence there.
"Sir Arkan," said Prissa kindly, with a shady look in her eyes, and made Arkan have to throw a glimpse of the beautiful woman.
"Doctor, what do you need to come here?" arkan asked coldly, after neutralizing his thumping heartbeat for a moment ago.
For a moment, Prissa fell silent, she glanced at Intan who was also staring at her with eyes as if asking. Because when asked by the woman, he just kept quiet and said there was something important he wanted to talk to Arkan.
"Ehm, can't we talk inside? Meaning, this…."
Understanding the meaning of Prissa's gaze that might be uncomfortable with Intan's presence between them, made Arkan just take a deep breath and throw it away.
"Well, then, let's go in" said Arkan, opening the door to Prissa and letting the woman in first.
Before closing the door, he asked Intan to make a warm tea for Prissa and deliver it to the room later.
"So, what's the need for the doctor to come here?" ask Arkan again, to the point has eliminated his sweet attitude after their last meeting.
In silence, Prissa had grimaced with a change in Arkan's attitude that initially looked so cute with his gaze and manner of speech that tended to look wrong if in front of Prissa, who was, being such a flat and also cold figure before him.
For some reason, Prissa really misses the Arkan figure she first met at the home of her patient named Anggi.
"I came here because I wanted to talk about our problem the other day," said Prissa, seeing Arkan just staring at her flat and directly asking.
"What problem?"
"Damar and Anggi," said Prissa quickly, immediately making Arkan again throw a heavy breath in the other direction.
Really, it feels like today Arkan is really lazy if you have to discuss past relationships that have run aground. Moreover, if the relationship is related to Anggi and Damar. Not enough fatigue that he felt after meeting with his client who was super chatty, this time is he also forced to think about the relationship that has ended?
"What is the care of the relationship of others is also included in the job desk of a doctor?"
"What?"
Arkan couldn't bear to not massage his forehead for a while.
"There's nothing more to talk about from their relationship, doctor…. They're done! And I hope doctors focus on the job of doctors to treat the sick. Don't get involved in romance. Therefore, it does not fit the doctor at all," Arkan said sarcastically, looking at Prissa who also looked sharply at him.
"Who said I'm a meddler? I also work tau!"
Brak!
Arkan who was upset, accidentally immediately hit the table in between and also Prissa violently. Before he smacked the woman, the door of his room opened, and displayed the figure of Intan carrying two cups of warm tea on a tray.
"Excuse me, sir…. Here is the tea, please," said Intan, smiling politely at a glance towards Prissa who was only able to return her smile rigidly.
Come onl…. Which person can smile kindly when in such a position?
Meanwhile, Arkan, who had been carried away by emotions, tried to calm his feelings. He took a deep breath, then threw it away slowly.
"You better go home. And hope, you don't have to come to this place again," cast Arkan slowly, turning his chair around hoping for a wide window of his room.
The man turned his back on Prissa who looked very upset by the expulsion Arkan had done to her.
"I don't want to meet you either, if your attitude turns out to be like this! I came here, just wanted to say, if not just Anggi who was sick because of their problems at that time! Damar too! He even got into a mental hospital because of the disturbance he was experiencing!" prissa exclaimed furiously, standing up from his position and looking at Arkan's chair which was slowly turning back towards him.
"A mental hospital?" reload Arkan slowly, looking at Prissa who was regulating her breathing due to emotions.
Slightly cleared her throat, Prissa tried to be formal again by folding her hands politely.
"Many do not know the problem of Damar who entered the mental hospital. Due to privacy concerns, Om Panji asked my sister who is a psychiatrist to take care of Damar for a few months in our house. The problem is, what Damar experienced could not be lost in just a short time. How many years it took for Damar to return to normal and return to his home. Even until now, there was some time Damar would feel a tremendous depression that required him to take drugs or come to my brother's place. So…."
Prissa paused on his sentence and took a deep breath.
"It's not just Anggi who's sick from losing their child. Damar too, guilt makes Damar can look like an insane person. He even often blamed Aunt Ranti for all of this. Therefore, he chose to stay apart from both parents, for fear of hurting Aunt Ranti if she was sick."
Prissa's explanation was quite long, able to make Arkan speechless for a while. He seemed to think, until he finally rubbed his face rough.
"So, your goal is to come here and deliver all this?" damar asked fishing, and stared at Prissa's face still without any meaningful expression.
"You must know, what I meant to come here for, what it was for,"
"No, I don't know," said Arkan infuriatingly, staring at Prissa's face this time snorting in disbelief.
I swear, for whatever reason, it feels like Prissa wants to flush Arkan's handsome face with tea. How could he like this strange man like the person in front of him?
Prissa must be crazy!
"I came here, because I hope you don't blame Damar too much for what happened to your cousin. Because, Damar also suffered with Anggi! And if you can, I also hope that you will help Damar to talk to Anggi. Even if there's no more chance for them to be together, but at least they can let each other go,"
Arkan was speechless hearing the expectant remarks from the woman in front of him. Honestly, he was still surprised by what he heard from Prissa's mouth a moment ago. All this time, he only knew that Damar disappeared like he was swallowed by the earth. Either he doesn't want to find out, or Damar's family is too smart to hide his son, making Arkan seem blind to what happened to his former best friend.
Amidst the sudden onset of confusion, Arkan raised his gaze which was originally aimed at the floor, towards Prissa's face.
Apparently, the woman was waiting for Arkan's decision on what he said before.
"You'd better go home, I've got another job to do."
Seriate….
Sorry late, overslept.... 😅
