The King's
Episode 59's

With her strength, Layla pushed the man on top of her until he fell on the floor.

"Ohhh" the man complained to him, but Layla did not care. She heard her mother-in-law's voice approaching and did not want to be caught in such an embarrassing state.

"Layla, Zahid, are you inside?"

Her mother-in-law's voice sounded again, this time louder and Layla immediately got up from the sofa.

"It was just my mom. Why you?" the man protested but Layla ignored him and went to the front door to greet her mother-in-law.

"I told your mother that you'd be staying in the same house from last night"

"Why did the Madam bring so much stuff here?" layla asked as she helped her mother-in-law carry two large boxes that she did not know contained.

"This house has not been inhabited for a long time. There must be no food in the fridge"

Apparently, her mother-in-law was worried that they would not eat in this house. In fact, Mr. Boni has taken care of everything very well.

When Lady Hannah walks into the house, Layla doesn't see her husband on the floor anymore. The man was standing by the window and seemed to be still angry about the incident.

"What are you doing there?" ask Lady Hannah to her son.

"standing"

"What?"

"What are you doing here?"

"Me and Martha are worried about you staying in this house again"

Aunt Martha worried about Mr Zahid? Or the daughter of Aunt Martha who became the lover of the worried Zahid sir? Layla chose to be quiet when her husband and mother-in-law spoke after a long time without seeing each other.

"I brought you food too. Martha also made some chaperones for you"

"no need. There'll be a waiter coming here"

"really? Thank goodness then. Layla will not be too tired because she has to work and take care of the house"

"That's his job"

"What did you say?"

"She's my wife, obligated to do all that"

"Zahid, what are you saying. Layla's not a woman you can command like that"

"Mother just go home. I'll have Boni take you home":

Layla did not meet her mother-in-law very often. Because of her work and busy college, she has not even had time to visit her in-laws again after officially getting married. But that's not the real reason he never left. The existence of Madame Martha, the mother of Mr. Zahid's lover, caused her to never set foot in the house of her in-laws. After all, her mother-in-law had never treated her the same way she used to, after finding out who she really was.

"I'm sorry, but I have to go somewhere now. On the job" Layla said, cutting the conversation between the mother and the child.

"What's? Where's where?"

Lady Hannah hit her son's arm and looked in a strange way towards Layla.

"You can't ask like that. Layla can go anywhere she wants."

Layla feels foreign, that's how she feels now. Such a presence was not expected inside this house. If so, he better go.

"Sorry Lady Hannah, I can't accompany you"

"No. Why did you say that. I should be the one apologizing for interrupting"

"good. I'll go first"

"Wait ... "

Layla is not waiting to go according to what Mr. Zahid wants. He immediately got out of the house and ran to a bus stop he once remembered.

Zahid saw his wife's back disappear behind the door and turned to her mother.

"What did you do?"

"What's? Mom didn't do anything"

"She is the Big Miss. I'm just doing what I'm supposed to do"

Zahid never thought about why his mother would say that to Layla. During this time his mother never showed dislike to Zahid's wife.

 "Mom should go home"

"Mom doesn't know what Mr and Mrs Graham are considering doing. But Layla is still very young. The boy has a bright future as the Graham family's daughter. Never destroy it"

"You mean my mom's gonna destroy it?" Zahid did not understand his mother's strange mindset.

"You've been thirty-six years. Shouldn't you be with a grown woman? Wait until Mr. Graham decides to dismiss you from this job. Then you can marry and love a woman who deserves it"

Zahid was silent to what his mother had said. Turns out this is what her mother meant by being polite to Layla. He never thought about it. He thought, Layla is his, his wife.

"Although Sarah often complains about people's treatment of her, I'd rather agree with her. After all, you guys are already close to each other"

"No"

"What?"

"I never thought of Sarah that way"

"But your news is everywhere, and Martha is beginning to worry about her daughter's future."

Zahid did not reply and did not wish to comment on this matter. All he wanted to do was look at Layla's face in front of him, but it didn't seem like it would happen again today.

"Your torturous marriage and office is indeed mother's fault. But, at least I want you to be happy with someone real. Not with a princess from an imaginary country you shouldn't touch"

Layla was silent and did not dare to step inside the house again. Before arriving at the bus stop, he realized he had forgotten his notebook. A book that holds all the ideas and future scribbles he wants. She had just stepped inside the house when she heard the voice of Lady Martha who was talking to her son. He took one step back and then turned around. Apparently, that's what everyone thought of him. Even Madame Martha who had previously treated him well, thought that way.

"Have you ordered Miss?" frank asks who came after Layla called him to a downtown cafe.

"Not yet"

"Do you want me to order?"

"I. .. will enter the company" Layla said with consideration.

"What?"

"I .. want to get into the company. I want to be known to people as the Graham family's daughter. And I also want a lot of people to start getting to know me as the Graham family's only daughter"

Frank cancels his intention to order a drink and sits down in front of his young miss.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. It's time I lead my father's company"

What does it mean Layla keeps hiding from everyone. Those around her always saw her as the Graham family's daughter. And not Layla. She's fed up. He did not want to run away from the fate that was supposed to be his. At the very least, he did not want to make others hurt by his choice anymore. Layla will advance to the battlefield called the company and accept whatever will happen.

"I'll tell the Great Lord"

"Yes"

"Do you want a position within the company?"

"Vice Director"

"Have you considered it?"

"I ... was the owner of that company Frank. Don't I at least deserve to get into that position?"

It seemed that Frank was shocked by Layla's steadfastness and could not comment for a few seconds.

"I will prepare everything. Tomorrow, you can enter the company"

"Not tomorrow. Just day after tomorrow. I have to resign well in the company first"

"alright. I'll prepare everything for the day after tomorrow"

"Thank you"

Frank stands up, looking at Layla's face for the last time before leaving the cafe. Layla is starting to breathe normally again now. He gritted his teeth and puffed out his chest only to make Frank trust his strong determination. Now there are some things that need to be done well. Especially his business with someone who was forced to be around him.
