"What are you going to do today?" ask Zahid's mother who still has to be in this city because of the engagement on Saturday.
"none. I've resigned and have no job now" he replied calmly.
"Zahid, do you like Mr Graham's daughter? Since when?"
Zahid looked at his mother who was staring expectantly. Is this because he kissed Layla on the forehead that night?
"It's not what you think it is"
"What's? You kissed Layla in front of everyone. What does that mean if you don't like it?"
Zahid moved from the dining room to the living room, but his mother followed him every step of the way.
"That's something I used to do"
"On Layla?"
It felt like choking when his mother asked like that. How could his mother conclude such a thing.
"On all my co-stars" he explained then lay on the sofa. Then Zahid remembered that he had once lay on Layla's lap on the same sofa. He immediately got up and canceled his lying intention.
"You lied. You must like Layla. The proof is, when Layla wasn't in this house a few days ago, you were so confused. You go here and there not caring about anything to look for it"
"He's an assistant in this house. Of course I'm surprised because he just suddenly disappeared"
"But I saw something strange about you two back then"
Zahid looked at his mother's smiling face. What did his mother see?
"The scarf he wore was not enough to cover all those reddish marks"
Zahid got up from his seat and felt stuttered. He didn't know his mother knew of the red marks he made.
"That, misunderstand. I saw it wrong" he said, then fled to the backyard.
Hannah was thrilled to see her son's face flushed red because of the fact she knew. Actually, Hannah was worried about the matchmaking that had bound Zahid for a long time. But, now Hannah was not too worried anymore. Because his son-in-law is a good woman. And his son seems to like his future wife.
"What did you do until Zahid ran away like that?" ask Martha who faithfully accompanied Hannah in her son's house.
"I'm just glad to see my son finally ... " Hannah stopped her words and looked at her friend. He forgot, that Martha ... .
"Why stop? I'm also happy with Zahid's wedding. It's been a while since I actually wanted to see Zahid get married. Because he's like Lucas' replacement"
"Martha, I'm sorry"
"Why are you apologizing? you're not wrong anything. But ... I don't know who Zahid's future wife really is"
"You know him"
"What?"
"Yes. He even went to the house and stayed there"
Martha looks confused by the puzzle revealed by her.
"Lilary. Layla Graham, the only daughter of Mr. Graham"
"Mr Graham? That Mr Graham? The owner of the big company? And Layla Zahid's assistant was actually Mr Graham's daughter?" martha asked not to believe what Hannah had told her.
"Yes. I was also very surprised by this strange coincidence. Moreover, they had actually been betrothed since fifteen years ago. So, I'm really surprised by this luck"
Hannah thought her friend would be happy with what she was thinking. But ... it is not. Martha has a face that is difficult to interpret. Did he speak wrong? Was she too happy that Martha could not have a daughter-in-law because her son had died thirteen years ago?
Without saying anything, Martha left him and followed towards the backyard. Hannah must have been talking wrong.
"I'm with your future wife the daughter of Mr. Graham, the great businessman"
"Ah, yes. He .. yes" replied Zahid uncomfortably.
"And you've been betrothed for fifteen years?"
Zahid began to take all the questions that Aunt Martha was asking seriously.
"Yes"
"Your father died fifteen years ago"
"Yes"
"You also suddenly left Lucas and became an actor"
"Yes" Zahid could not stop answering yes to all of Aunt Martha's questions in front of him.
"Is it all because of that match? You left Lucas and became an actor because of this matchmaking?"
Aunt Martha said she had forgotten the incident last masala. But Zahid can make sure Aunt Martha still harbors an upset feeling like Zarah did. Upset that Zahid is leaving Lucas, which causes his son's career to just stop.
"Tante, i ... "
"Yes, it's true Sarah said. You just left my son and finally ... "
Aunt Martha left Zahid who was still standing quietly in the backyard and immediately packed all her belongings.
"Martha, what are you doing?" asked Zahid's mother surprised to see her friend packing.
"I can't believe Sarah was right"
"What?"
"Sarah always thought that your son was the reason Lucas did it. I always didn't believe it. But it turns out, it's all true. My Lucas, my son, had to endure it all on his own as your son soared. And it turns out it was all because of the help of someone big behind him"
Aunty Martha cried with a shout, making Zahid could not say anything and just saw her mother trying to block her friend from leaving.
"My son was not wrong. He just did all that to save his family"
"By sacrificing my son??!!!" aunt Martha's shout made the atmosphere of silence even more gripping. Zahid's mother was struck by the screams of someone she had considered a friend for a decade.
"May you be happy with your comfortable and luxurious life, Zahid. May you be proud of the achievements you made at the expense of my son's life" Aunt Martha said, leaving home.
Zahid could only see his mother fall in the middle of the room without being able to do anything.
Layla came to the restaurant for lunch an hour ago. He waited for someone who made an appointment but did not come. Did Mr Zahid play him? Did the man do this on purpose just to make him wait a long time and starve? Not wanting to wait any longer, Layla got up from her chair and left without ordering anything. Frank, who was waiting for him in front of the restaurant, was seen contacting someone repeatedly.
"Frank, can you buy me a cheeseburger?" layla's asking surprised Frank. It seems that Frank is also upset with someone but tries to suppress him because Layla is in front of him.
"Do you want a double?"
"No, I want fries and cola. What can?"
Frank smiles at Layla's request and signs her agreement. Layla immediately got in a car that drove her to a fast food restaurant. Frank actually bought him a full set of cheese burgers and accompanied him to a meal.
"I'm sorry to have kept the young lady waiting so long in the restaurant" Frank said. But it wasn't Frank's fault.
"It's okay, that way I can eat a cheeseburger"
Frank laughed with a joke Layla said and they ate voraciously. Talk about Layla's dream. Only to Frank, he can be open about everything. He felt lucky that his former employer had not come on a lunch appointment this time.
