"Do you want to lay down your bed again?"

"Yes, just lower it a little not too flat" replied Connors staring at his wife's face that looked very tired. There were even dark circles under his eyes.

"Do you still need anything?", asked Stephanie carefully.

Connors looked at her very closely, making Stephanie lower her face.

"No. I don't need anything anymore" Connors replied.

"alright. You need to rest now. I'm outside if you need anything" Stephanie said, turning her head and pointing at the door. The woman seemed to force a smile on her lips that suddenly felt faint.

Stephanie was about to turn around, but Connors' hand held her back. "You stay here with me, Stephanie. Stay with me" said Connors, sounding so soft.

Stephanie was silent in her place. "Maybe I misheard" he said.

"You didn't hear wrong, come here! This bed is enough for both of us" said Connors shifted his position to give his wife a place.

Stephanie was shocked, Connors seemed to be able to read her heart. "But..."

"From now on don't be afraid of me, you can do anything for me" Connors said, drawing Stephanie's hand to join him in bed.

Stephanie looked at Connors with teary eyes. His feelings instantly warmed. She hesitated to follow her husband's orders. But in the end he also obeyed Connors' orders.

Connors closed his eyes and exhaled his breath violently.
