NEGOTIATING

Renata walks hurriedly to his locker. Put things down and change clothes in uniform. Renata curled her hair up according to the rules in the Tuscany cafe where she worked.

"Huhh, I'm almost too late, lucky Miss Laura hasn't started the briefing. Are you done preparing for Rena? Hm..you're always pretty like Rena's always".

"You're always like this Kelly, coming in late for work" Renata replied without turning her attention to her best friend.

"Yes, you're always right. I'm late for having to send fresh milk to my customers. People like us have to take a lot of jobs, even though we will never be rich" Kelly laughed.

Renata turned her head to Kelly while shaking her head and smiling. 

"I pray one day you'll be rich Kelly. If you're rich don't forget me" Renata continued, blinking one eye. 

"certainly. I'll make you my deputy if I have the company" Kelly replied laughing.

Renata could not help but laugh at her friend's joke. He pulled Kelly's hand which was tidying the children's hair. 

"Please wait, I'm not done yet.."

"Oh, you're done. I need to see Miss Laura, Kelly"

"Do you want to see our boss?"

"I need money for my mom's treatment".

"Have your mama had surgery, Rena?"

Renata nodded his head. Both stopped walking. "I need a loan of money from the owner of this cafe, at least this afternoon I have to get the money. The doctor has stated my mother's condition is ready to perform bypass surgery" Renata said slowly.

A happy smile immediately adorned Kelly's face because he knew how Renata was fighting for the recovery of his mother who was in and out of the hospital because of her illness.

"Rena, I'm sorry I could only help you with prayer. You know my own finances are very mediocre".

"Geez, Kel, I know. You've been a big help to me all this time, baby. You're my best friend".

Kelly hugged her best friend's body. "We'd better have a briefing and you'll talk to Laura's lady, Rena. All I know is Miss Angelica, the owner of this cafe is rarely here. You ask Miss Laura directly".

Renata nodded his head. Kelly knows better than her because she only worked a few weeks at the cafe while Kelly has long worked here. And who recommended Renata work at the cafe was also Kelly after Renata resigned from his old job at a nightclub as waiters too. 

Renata chose to resign because of the hours of night work until the early hours, making her unable to totally keep her sickly mother.

Renata opens the door handle of his superior's office. It looks like a young woman of Renata's age is sitting on her desk chair.

"Good morning, Miss Laura. Sorry to interrupt Miss's time, can I talk to you for a minute, miss?", Renata said respectfully as she bowed her body.

Laura who was seen writing in a book stared at Renata at a glance. "What's wrong? Speak up!"

"Look Miss Laura, I'm in need of money for my parents' heart surgery. I want to apply for a loan of money" Renata said in a soft voice. While the two fingers squeezed each other's hands.

Laura put the pen in her hands and stopped her work. The woman stared fixedly at the face of his men who were standing right at his desk.

"Renata, I know you're working really well. But do you remember the rules you signed before working at this cafe? You're also still very new to working Rena. I've been so kind to you for not counting your time on probation, all because Kelly recommended you".

Renata further lowered her head and squeezed her fingers. He nodded his head slowly. "Yes my lady knows, I'm sorry Miss Laura for asking for your help. B-but my mama has to have surgery right away. Please lady, meet me with the owner of this cafe. I will guarantee my home certificate and I will also repay my debt from my salary. I will also work overtime every day until the evening hours close. S-aya please miss Laura", said Renata. Even clear circles drip on their own.

I heard Laura's breath. Actually, he also felt compassion for Renata, a new employee whose value was very diligent and disciplined. Even Laura was about to give a report to her superiors Tuscany cafe owners directly about their employees, both long-time and newly accepted including Renata.
